I think Henry can be naive, like any young person his age, but I think the main reason he does some of the things he does, is because he still has compassion, faith in the good he sees in others, like Lydia. He doesn't always do the smartest thing, but he does do the right thing, the caring & compassionate thing. That is his strongest, greatest trait. At heart, he's a good person, who sees a better way, a better future, for those who are in a bad place, like Lydia, & he wants to help them, a trait to admire, not admonish him for. Also, regarding Lydia, she was lying at first, to get information that would give her some worth, that would make her valuable to her mother & the Whisperers. She thought the things her mother beat into her for years was the truth, til she finally realized those were all lies, & remembered the truth, that her mother had beaten her into forgetting, & had lied to her so often about that she finally believed the lies, mixed them with the truth so even she couldn't tell the difference anymore. I've heard that in the comics, Alpha let the other Whisperers rape Lydia whenever they wanted. That also had to play into her behavior.
I respectfully disagree. Henry let the saviors loose opening their cell trying to shoot one of them. He never seems to learn even with the best teachers.
@@AH-yu2pi That was when he was a kid, obsessed with vengeance. That will do that to a person, but he learned his lesson & changed. Now he is no longer that foolish, vengeance obsessed little boy, & is a very different person. Does he still make stupid mistakes on occasion? Yes, but so does everybody. We all make mistakes, but Henry makes foolish decisions sometimes, because he is trying to do what he thinks is right.
@@robertmurrhee6016 Highly disagree. Every episode he stars in, he does something stupid. Heck on the way to Hilltop he just jumped out of the carriage to "help someone screaming". He could have proceeded with the caution he threw to the wind. Guess his next set of actions? Hint: it ended with him in jail. At least he only risked himself with that one.
@@AH-yu2pi He ran to help someone in trouble, which anybody with an ounce of compassion would have done in that situation, thus only further proving my point about him. The getting drunk & sneaking out without permission, which millions of teens do all the time, was a bit foolish, but not all that unforgivable an act, besides, when he found out they were doing something cruel to a walker, his compassion made him stop them, causing them to just be total pricks & leave him there for ruining their cruel fun. That is why he wound up in jail, because no good deed goes unpunished. Those other kids were way worse, & way dumber, than Henry. Nobody ever always does the single most tactically advantageous thing in every single situation, in the heat of the moment. If Henry had taken his time to cautiously investigate the screams for help, the person might already be dead by the time he got there to help. Sometimes, we are required to make a snap decision & help someone even if we suffer for having done so. That's what it means to have compassion for others, & put their welfare or safety above your own. We can simply agree to disagree, as I would never belittle someone for doing the right thing, even if someone else thought it was the dumb thing to do.
@@robertmurrhee6016 I agree to disagree. He endangered Carol with his action on the carriage. Soon after that he sneaks out and lands in jail. The other teens had not a day or so before, almost caused the death or capture of their Mom. We disagree. I think Henry is a nincompoop.
Henry had a recent history of trying to be "fight for the good" like when Carol and Henry went to find Daryl. A woman yelled help and what does Henry do? Runs towards and tries to save while Carol is was like ummmm nope. Then they were both captured by the Saviors. Then Henry tries to make friends with those kids with the pit. He is so fresh. So naive. Now with Lydia. Ughhh. Either needs to be more cynical and smart or will likely die. Carol never takes people for face value. Love how she plays miss good cookie homemaker but really playing everyone. I love Carol, but not sure why Henry turned out like this.

I think its pretty clear that they werent walking fast because they were within kingdom territory, with guards, during broad daylight. The girl ran into the corn because that was the quickest way to cover.
