Excellent job!! This could be used easily for education purposes in merchant marine academies as well as by many seamen. Thoroughly explanation with graphics with technicals issues faced by tanker operators that you can expant your knowledge. Well done!!
Very very nice video Mr. Konstantin! You have explained it nicely. I watched a pump room in a ship for the first time. Such a huge machinery and so many controlling principles. Please try to show how such big machineries like pump are rested on their base frames. E.g. heavy duty multistage pumps or compressors or steam engines.
Very informative video.im just about to join as fresh 3rd mate on oil tanker.this helps me a lot to understand the big picture in a simple way.please make more videos when you have time.thank you
thank you so much sir I also work on crude oil tanker as a deck cadet please describe every aspect of the crude oil tanker and give some advice to people to be officer for the first time
Dear sir Very much informative and very well explained. Sir I want you kindly if possible make one video same detailed of CCR Full Discharging operation explained Thanks again
Chief this bottom lever suction flaps which you operated on the radio for ventilation which are used for emergency use , can you explain when we use them exactly , in case of flooding we open them ?
NYC vedio sir, I have one doubt ,in pump suction type fixed gas detection system ,where the pump is located and in which all positions the detector heads are located , please give a solution to this qstn Thanks
Thanks) Normally the pump for fixed gas detection system is located in Cargo control room. The gas detection sensors are located on each level in P/room.
By google in the open source you could find "CRUDE OIL TANKER BASICS" written by Captain Paul Armitage I think that every tankerman who works on crude oil tanker should read this book. Now I'm on board and can't send you by email
Thank you. What is the rated capacity and discharge head of the main cargo pumps? What is the temperature of crude oil during unloading operations at the terminal?
Thanks for watching. Discharge head 140 m or 14 bar was on this particular suezmax tanker. Light crude no need heating during unloading and the temperature varies from climatic zone. Heavy crude oil sometimes requires heating, depends of the climatic zone also, normally at least till 30 Celsius.
Hii sir i am a third officer having only Framo experience only , I want to know about crude oil cargo pump operation procedure, I kindly please make a staring and operation linining up procedures in CCR , it will be really helpful. Pumproo video was very helpful chief, Thankyou for efforts
Hi Saikat. Thanks for watching. Right now I'm working on a video regarding vetting inspection on deck and It's take lots of time. Don't worry, join crude oil tanker and chief mate will explain you these procedures during cargo operations.
Dear Christos, on crude oil tankers centrifugal pumps are always steam driven. In case of transportation high viscous crude oil it should be heated by heating coils of all cargo tanks. But on VLCC's heating coils are equiped only in Slop tanks. That's why VLCC transports cargo which is not to be heated.
That's a good theme actually. I will do this during my contract. Now I'm in shipyard on board of VLCC. Collegues, do you have any ideas/suggestions of what you are interested about the tanker during dry dock?
Hi Irwan. I am working as a Captain. Chief officer's job is not very interesting for me now. I am thinking about what interesting I can show in this position?
Hi Chief, very good explanation ! One question, with what are you filming this video ? Isn`t it dangerous and forbidden to film on open deck/pump room or the device its intrinsically safe ?
Hello, thanks for the feedback. Yes, I use private Intrinsically Safe HD Camera for my videos. I don't like to make an advertisement for the brand which I used, because I bought it by my own money. You can use Google search. The price of mine camera is over 3000 USD...!
It depends on your experience. The good thing that on crude oil tankes witth line system and centrifugal pumps usually less grades of cargo and more long voyages. Best regards
Konstantin you are just too good. I worked on tankers for 20 years and I would say it is good knowledge to any tanker hand. Great job. God bless you.
Thanks for watching Captain, and for the feedback 🤝🙂
Good video. As a cargo surveyor I remember entering the pump room to seal the valves.

very good clarification. I would say that it’s better than even the engineers say. Thanks a lot. If you can tell about deck equipment
Thanks for the feedback colleague👌
Which deck equipment do you mean?
valves, ventilation and how to change and how to fill inertgas system. And what is included in the inertgas system. If you can, thanks in advance

Hi sin, Could activate subtitles for the video?
Dear Konstantin, I would like to ask what is the purpose of “pump oil collection chamber”?
Dear Christos, this chamber is used to collect oil leakages from seal gland of shaft bearings.
