This show needs to be nominated for everything. So much representation across multiple spectrums of life, sexuality, mental health issues and walks of life. Never has a show hit home like this one has. Bravo!

Kedar Williams-Stirling said the realist thing..."You have masculinity and then you have black-masculinity. You have feminism and then you have black-feminism. They're 2 different things."
Loreto Hidalgo when it comes to feminism , both white and black women don’t suffer the same level of daily oppression. black women have it far more intense as they have to suffer not only the daily oppressions of being a woman but within that, being a BLACK woman brings a whole other layer of adversity that white women cannot experience and thus i think kedar was saying how ‘feminism’ and ‘black feminism’ must be two different concepts as feminism alone limits or belittles the extent to which black women face more adversity than white women do
Loreto Hidalgo for example, in the workplace. in corporate businesses , there will be men in positions of power. when they open it it up to women , they usually go for white women which leaves black women at a disadvantage. now when we look at the lack of racial diversity in businesses , they may look to hire more black people (for example) this then causes them to hire black MEN . again leaving black women to a disadvantage . meaning black women have to work twice as hard in the business world than white women do. idk if this made sense lmao
When Ncuti said Sex Ex just “shows what life is”, he hit the nail on the head. That’s one of the reasons I love the show. It doesn’t embellish the relationships or diversity of the cast as something special. It just is what it is. Really refreshing
Yes! I love how the show never mentions for example HEY THE PARENTS ARE GAY, like, it makes everything feel natural and accepted. Same sex couples, mixed race couples, etc
