Love that you are providing better alternatives to the products you didn’t love. Great video!
Videos like this where you can tell us products you don’t enjoy but those that you can recommend are great. This is one way your extensive collection can shine and provide a great reference. Thanks Michele!
Look at you...getting extra credit points with providing alternatives. True pro!🐻🧡
😃
Agree Heather, so helpful 💕
Damn she’s awesome, the best
The Fenty Eaze drops finally gave oily skin types a legit skin tint that doesn’t slide off lol! I am so obsessed with it, but I knew immediately that Skin Tint enthusiasts wouldn’t like it lol. It’s not hydrating at all like traditional tints.
Exactly, & there is a place for that 💖
This is the exact reason why I would definitely give this skin tint a try at some point. Past skin tints I've tried never did a thing for my oily skin. I mean, they were all right, but eventually, I would end up with basically nothing on my face.
Hmm, this might make me try it as I certainly do not have dry skin. What is the coverage like?
I didn’t purchase it cause I love skin tints and have dry skin and everyone who liked it had normal to oily skin. In general Fenty isn’t geared toward the dry skin types. Which is cool, everybody needs somethings.
@@claudial4141 I apply a dime size amount which gives me medium coverage. Bc it sets, you can build it more easily than a “wet” foundation I’ve found.
Decorte is a luxury Japanese brand (from Kose). Kose (pronounced kosay), Shiseido, and Kao are the main cosmetic co's in Japan. Kose also own Jill Stuart Cosmetics and Addiction. Kose also recently took majority ownership of Tarte Cosmetics. Just FYI.
I love learning who owns who. Thank you!
Kosé makes my favorite hand and foot cream. I've tried to replace in with something available in the US, but apparently it's something I'm going to have to order in from abroad forever.
This comment so helpful ✨
Good to know, thank you xx
@@monkeybutt51836 Thank you so much for the information
I’m the opposite of your thoughts on the Chanel blushes! I feel they are more finely milled and apply so much silkier. I had the old formula and was never impressed until I tried the new formula. I feel they melt into the skin and last all day. After trying one i had to buy two more. Very impressed! Sorry they didn’t work for u Michelle, but I guess everyone has different skin and preferences.
Really appreciate the candid review, really helpful navigating such a crowded product landscape. Also appreciate the alternative recommendations.
I had the same experience with the Sublimage foundation. I thought I was losing my mind. Glad to see you felt the same way. It just sat on my dry skin and never looked nice. I still love their Le Beige foundation.
Fenty products have always favored oily skin in the first iteration of a product launch. They understand undertones like no one else in the industry (olive undertones stand up!). I am hoping they add more shades and more brands offer sheerer coverage for combo/oily skin. The NARS tinted moisturizer is a staple.
Oily skin here and I definitely appreciate that!
OLIVE TONES FOR THE WIN. The soft matte foundation has my exact shade AND tone and is fungal acne safe I CRIED when I brought it home and it looked so nice.
The Kjaer Weis foundation is so so so so beautiful! I’m so glad I tried it.
*The great thing about baked powders is that they started their lives as creams and were then baked, so most apply very creamy on the skin. Pressed powders were always powder so they tend to have kicked and be overall much less soft. I also prefer baked blushes.*
I’m a little older than you, but similar skin type, and I had not so great looking skin days with the Fenty so I returned it as well. And I also agree with all you said about the Merit highlighting balm, which I also returned. So glad you made this kind of video, and mentioned the alternatives!! 🌺
I could keep your videos playing on an endless loop you are so incredibly informative and at the rate I purchase makeup (which is admittedly way too much) you have become my go to! So extremely helpful, I’m super appreciative!
For once there is an advantage to living in Australia and getting all the old stock. I ordered 3 Chanel blushes! Ooh, you reminded me of my Kevin Aucoin at the back of my drawer, I gotta bring it into rotation.
yessss !
Omg I love that Kevin Aucoin skin tint! I have large pores, dry skin and it makes me glow!! Thanks Michelle for all of these backups too ☺️ you really do such a great job!
Omg, Chanel blush was divine and lasted years, what were they thinking?
I agree about the Chanel blushes, the old formula is so much better!
I have read that Chanel had to remove an ingredient based on a new french law, and then they are trying to accommodate “clean beauty.” Guess they have to go back to the drawing board. Love EM cosmetics.
Too bad they decided to put coconut oil in some of their products. That's why I stopped buying Chanel for awhile, except for the liners, lipsticks and shadows. I still need to check on the powders for any added ingredients that would cause me to breakout.
@@tineegonzales7365 coconut is not the worst, they add beeswax in powder products🤦🏼♀️ do not know what for, but i am allergic to honey, bees, beeswax so i cannot use these products... i have to be very careful with mascaras, lipsticks and so on but i never knew that beeswax can be used in powder😯 until Chanel.... now i have to be even more careful
@@tineegonzales7365 coconut oil breaks me out too 😭 we're in the same boat of not seeing it on our cosmetic and skincare products
@@viviennejung1546 Coconut oil breaks a lot of people out. My skin is ultra sensitive and reactive so I'm hyper vigilant abt checking ingredients lists before buying new products and I've known for years what ingredients irritate my skin...except for coconut oil. It's a relatively newer ingredient in beauty products and it took a while to realize it was the coconut oil in the RMS Living Luminizer and Lip and Cheek tints that kept breaking me out. The main ingredient in almost all RMS products is coconut oil. It was a star ingredient for a while but I think most consumers know it's not good for the skin.
@@julias8763 Oh.. I wasn't aware they put beeswax in their powder products. Was this added as part of their reformulation, or it was already there before?
Nearly everything for the face from Charlotte Tilbury - the foundations/powders all seem to make me look older and craggier. Very expensive mistakes, as we can't return items here in the UK ☹ps I recently bought the Nars tinted moisturiser based on your experience with it and I'm in love 😍
Luckily for me, I watch reviews and yours especially, as you have similar skin to myself. This means my mistakes are now far and few (should've waited for reviews before buying the latest ND palette).
Huge "thank you" for each and every review.
This was amazing Michele, I hope other YT's pick this up. 💜🌟💜
Thanks Chrissy!
I wouldn't say you're seething about the blush changes, but you are definitely simmering! Go girl!!!
i promise i listen to every word you say but i absolutely love when you have flowers and candles in the background - it’s just so understated relaxing to see that as i play your vids while unwinding at the end of the day 😘 also this look - effortless chic and artful!
Love how you explain why the products didn't work for you and providing us with alternatives! I Your reviews are the best!
As soon as I saw that there was Chanel stuff on the list, I grabbed the popcorn! ☺️💜
You can never go wrong with a Mac blush. I love Em cosmetics but they are always sold out.
Mac blushes for the win!
Hey Michele 💖🌸 Thanks for giving alternate products also!
Hi Charli!! Thanks so much for watching! ❤️
I love that you gave alternatives!!!! 👏👏👏
I bought the original formulation of alezane because of you and do agree with your assessment of these new blushes. The new alezane just looks drab on the swatch. Who wants that? What works consistently for me is from Chantecaille, whether it be skincare or makeup. Enlightening video, Michele!
I love that you are giving alternatives! Great video 💯❤️
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Applause for your absolute “ Honesty “ you Rock Michele! I appreciate it! & I agree! Some products are hyped and bring such disappointment 😩
Great video Michelle! Thank you for your great honesty! Love&Light from California 💗💗
It's so helpful to be given a couple of alternative products which did work for you.
Kevyn Aucoin skin sensual enhancer is what I'm wearing these days as a skin tint/ very light foundation. I think yes, that other KA skin tint product is discontinued.
Always a great video! So informative!! And love the Hermes cuff!
Baked Gelèe everything! Loved the formula since I tried the Chantecaille Bronzers Goa and Sirena.
I love that you mention alternatives to your disappointments! I had the very same experience with the Fenty EZ. Aged my skin terribly! I’ve been enjoying the Nars tinted moisturizer on your recommendation.
Loved the video ♥️♥️ have a lovely day Michele ♥️♥️✨
I’m sure you’ve got enough mascara that you don’t need to finesse a dud, but an old Sali Hughes tip is to take a tubing mascara and use it as a top coat to set one that smudges or flakes
Interesting, I’ll have to try that!
Yes, this is what I do! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I use Clinique tubing mascara and it’s very basic. But I’ve tried other mascaras that make my lashes look spectacular. But they smudge like crazy on me. One coat of the Clinique on top fixes that!
I love this tip thank you!
So, how are you removing these? Do you have to use water then remover?
Only have the MAC tubing mascara but the brush feels to small. Have to check out the Cliniqe one.
I’ve just discovered your channel (this is the second video I have watched from you) and your videos are great!
Really informative, clear and intentional. Thank you so much for taking all the effort ♥️
Welcome! Thanks for watching.
The most pretty icy highlighter I have seen is the Flesh beauty one that comes in a stick. I am cool olive and it translates beautifully on the skin!
Your eye roll when mentioning you pulled out 3 skin tints 😂. So good!
😆 xoxo
I love that you provide alternatives and how clearly talk about why the product didn’t work.
Also I am obsessed with ilia mascara and em cosmetics mascara. They are amazing 🤩
I always love listening to your recommendations! Though I actually love the new Guerlain KissKiss lipsticks - I don’t mind the scent and the formula is superb :)
Nothing will ever disappoint me more than the reformulated Soleil Tan De Chanel.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤣🤣🤣
I didn't even bother picking it up. 😔
I would love maybe a quarterly video on things you returned. Here in Europe it is not possible to return make-up apart from when it has a manufacturing issue. We have to be extra careful when buying things and find other ways of using it if we dont like it for the intended use.
Michelle, I find you to be so lovely. Very classy, yet light and fun. I adore your videos.
Thank you so much Julie!
I have not being using the lamer skin tint for two years. I bought it again a few days ago and I remembered why I loved it so much. Its so smooth and hydrating and the finish is out of space. The perfect one. You may only have issues if you have very oily skin.
Your makeup is LOVELY today!!
I saw plenty reviews on the ABH Iced Out Highlighter Michele and no one had a good word to say about it, so you are not alone.🥰💜
👍🏻
I've used chanel just once in my life (it was just a foundation sample) but now I'm addicted to watching your channel
I like the ABH highlighter mixed with Becca moonstone. I'm glad you mentioned it, I may bring it out for the week! The Fenty blur drops only work well for me with the Milk hydrogrip primer, otherwise it just wears off in an hour or two.
You’re so on-point with your advice. As a result I’ve purchased many, many products through your recommendations. Westman Atelier baby cheeks blush, Bond No.9 lipsticks in their beautiful packaging, Kilian Bad Boys perfume, Chantecaille blur finishing powder / lip veils / eye shadows / blush besides others. Extremely happy I can rely on your trustworthy, thorough advice. Love from London and thanks again for your support through the minefield of make-up and luxury brands 🙏🏽
Thanks for watching Roz!
Thx Michele! Great video, just wondered if you have done a heat proof make up now that we’re approaching summer? Thx
Would love a La bouche rouge review as a line! Been so curious to try them out! 💗
Just discovered your channel and subscribed! Your manner of speaking and how you carry yourself is so poised, professional, and somehow soothing. Really enjoy your videos - keep it up! :)
Thank you and thanks for watching!
I’ve actually had great success with the Guerlain Kiss Kiss Bloom Shine in Petal. I have super dry lips, and this feels and looks great on me. Love your channel 😎
Thank you so much for sharing Maureen!
So awesome that you share alternatives! Thanks!!
I absolutely love the hair color btw, looks great.
Why do I always love negative reviews by you !! You are soooo fun and you just make me laugh !
Thanks Louise!! 😃
I just loved and love the Chanel Serum foundation! I am also a fan of the original Chanel Sublimage cream foundation (in the jar). I love having foundation in a pump however. I found this to work on my mature, dry, dehydrated skin very well. It is my top favorite foundation at the moment. Sorry to hear that did not work for you Michele, but we are all different and have different skin types and needs. If every product worked for everyone that would be kind of weird. What do you think?
This is why I watch your videos, honest reviews, keep it up 👍
I purchased the Chanel 5 couleurs in Soft Cashmere during the sale based on your recommendation and I absolutely love it. I think it’s the best palette I have ever purchased. I also purchased the Ilia mascara and I love it as well.
I had the exact same experience with the Fenty Eaze Drops. I’m so jealous because it looked amazing on a lot of my friends. It gave me texture I didn’t even have!
😔😔
I’m so happy that I purchased the old shades elegance and orchid rose in the baked formula from selfridges and Jersey and alezane in the old pressed formula. 🥰🥰
👍🏻👍🏻
Great video Michele! As always 😃
Thank you!! 😊
Love these videos! She does a great job and helps save me money lol Thanks for posting:-))
The only Fenty products that have worked for me (I have dry skin) is their lip gloss, gloss bombs which I LOVE, and I also like their cream blush.
I am so so sad I slept on the Chanel blushes... I don’t know why I put off picking up and trying the previous formula 😩😭 Le sigh.
Here in Australia, if make up or skincare is used, our retailers won’t accept returns (only unused, and still packaged). I love your videos Michelle, you’re my favourite!!
These are such valuable videos! Thank you 🙏
Definitely agree on the Fenty skin tint made my skin look dry and aged me by 20 years!!!! Great video!
Loved this video! Thanks for sharing alternatives.
love your makeup today! so beautiful
Thank you!!
Yes🙌🏽🙌🏽 Details please Michele!
Loved this Michele! I really dislike heavily scented products. Who wants to taste flowers anyway? Lol! You look beautiful today!
I love the Victoria Beckman mascara too! if you haven't already try the Huda skin tint, it's fantastic and hydrating for drier skins
that cuff looks absolutely awesome on you!!! 🖤🖤🖤
I agree; it’s gorgeous!
@@QueenOfTheNorth65 it’s so badass.
Really love and appreciate your content, Michelle. I’m trying to be better about remembering to comment under videos to show support and appreciation for the time and effort that my favorite youtuber’s put into their videos.
It’s so interesting that you mentioned how you haven’t seen a lot of people mentioned the ABH highlighter after the initial slew of reviews. I was just thinking about that happening with so many products and was trying to think of some. Especially products that people seemed to like on first impressions but then never seemed to grab for them anymore. One of the products that made me think of this in the first place was that Tatcha eye cream/brightener that came in a container that looked like a Pearl. Might have even been called Pearl something.
Anyhoo, I have also not seen anyone use the ABH Iced Out highlight or talk about it since the first reviews and I’m really glad I didn’t pick it up. I had it in my cart for a while because I struggle to find highlighters that aren’t too deep or too golden on my fair, cool-toned skin. It sounds like it wouldn’t have worked for me.
I think it might be a fun video idea to talk about products people seemed really excited about but then after launch and reviews haven’t really resurfaced much.
I hope you have a wonderful week ahead of you! 💕💕💕
Thank you so much Katie! Great video idea! 👍🏻
Great video, really nice that you give s better alternative. Going to buy a lighter foundation soon so I am eagerly waiting for your video. 🤩
To be honest, ABH just should have done the amrezy again. I too thought that's what they were doing when i saw it.
I didn’t love the Fenty either. I have skin like yours, very sensitive and dry and I’m in my 50’s. I just found Code 8 Radiate balm and i love it!!! It’s light and thin, gives a hint of color and just does this magic thing on the skin. I absolutely love it!
Outstanding video💯 So glad you shared with us❤
Thank you for providing beautiful alternatives!!
I mix the Fenty Eaze drops with Auric glow lust (Selenite) and that combo looks fantastic on my dry skin. I always prep with a serum and moisturizer before I put anything else on so maybe that helped the Fenty work for me.
Such a great video idea. Ty Michele!🌸⚘
I love the Lila mascara very nice. Thanks for your opinion on these products.
All I’ve heard about that Anastasia highlighter is that people wished it was more like Amrezy, lol. Like you, I also returned the Fenty Ease Drop skin tint. It looked awful on my skin and was super drying. Every time I try a new skin tint, I end up falling back to my holy grail Bare Minerals complexion rescue. I’ve been wearing and loving that one for years.
I stay away from Fenty products. They don’t get along with my dry skin, and that’s ok. Everybody has to have something, that doesn’t make them bad products, just not for me.
Yup same for me and it’s sad because they have great undertones for us cool olives.
I have that issue with elf and Too Faced. My skin/eyes react to almost everything from those two brands.
I haven't had luck with Fenty base products but the Gloss Bomb is my all time favorite gloss formula and the cream blush I have is nice.
Have you tried the LYS beauty serum foundation? Wow it's amazing! Only problem is most of all the light shades are sold out ever since they launched in sephora. It's one of the most affordable brands in Sephora.
I’ve been really interested in trying that foundation, I’ve heard so many good things about it, but yeah, I’ve been on the waiting list for a while now for a lighter shade.
I love it too!
such an amazing foundation. Has Michelle tried that brand at all?
Is it more for dry skin type or oily. I am interested to try that brand
@@sandrapaul4828 Both can use it but the formulation is amazing for dry skin
Michele - what brush are you using in this video to apply the EM Cosmetics blush? I need something new - and very soft - to diffuse very pigmented products. The one you are using looks like the perfect size. Thanks in advance :)
Ive never met a Chanel foundation that worked with my dry skin. On the other hand, every Dior, By Terry and Giorgio Armani foundation work beautifully for me.
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Same experience.
I bought the guerlain meteorites in the lightest shade about 2 months ago. It’s probably the makeup item I wanted to try for the longest and I decided to treat myself. I wish I hadn’t, it’s so glittery! Such a waste of money ☹️
What about Sensai products? The brand is quite popular in Europe. And they have been selling the 38 Mascara for a long time! It's also a "tube" mascara, so convenient! 😍
Loved your insight thank you for sharing.😊
I know that I am supposed to be paying attention to the makeup, but I am so attracted to your beautiful nails. I am going to have to purchase a similar nail color. Lovely...
Yes!!! That color is amazing!!!
She always has the prettiest nail colors! I'm always watching for Michelle's nails 😁
I also had trouble with the Fenty skin tint. Really bad. I also like the Lamer tinted moisturizer
Another alternative to the Chanel blush could be Bourjois little round pot blush, it apparently has a similar baked formula and finish. I own one and highly recommend them.
Hi Michele, great video. And i have dry skin and rosacea. So thank you for this.
Love EM Cosmetics....
Great lip product you got on.
One of my favorite drugstore products is the Milani Baked blushes, I’d recommend for people to try those as an alternative to the Chanel ones. They are so beautiful and come in many shades. I also don’t enjoy fenty base products so I haven’t tried the skin tint. Plus it seems like I’d be in between shades 1 & 2.
At $45, a mascara should be top of the line. Same with the Chanel foundation. I’ll shell out the cash if the performance is there.
Thank you for your honest reviews!
Can you do a video about shopping on selfridges? I want to do the shipping deal but am not sure what I will buy/ benefit from being able to get. Thanks!
