I really enjoyed coding these bosses back in my younger days in the video games industry at Iguana and Acclaim Entertainment. I think my favorite was the T-Rex followed closely by the Preying Mantis as the animation set (all hand animated by the art team) was amazing.
You guys were the real innovators of the video game industry. We wouldn't have the thriving and wonderful games that we have today without all of your guys hard work.

Yes, the producers lazed off in the weapons department, took out the blood and gore for humans (but not for the creatures xd), ripped off the plot of Aliens, and designed it as a generic futuristic shooter, but is a good game to pass the time. Hell, that Turok even showed up in the comics!
When I first played this game my first thought was " how come I'm so fast? Am I sonic the native American hedgehog" and then afterwards when I beaten the game and I saw myself ( also when you pick up the keys to unlock the other lovels) I was like " cool a native dude kicking ass with an arrow one at a time".
I remember in the original version there was a glitch that when you killed the campaigner with the mini gun when Turok is running down the hall one of his legs was bent
Found out not to long ago turok 1 and 2 is on Xbox one. Camelot in 2018. Unfortunately it can't be bought off of the store online. But can be bought in the game disc version. Only $28.00.
When i was playing this as a young boy at 7, i felt bad for the trex because "he has no meat to eat anywhere, ill feed him." So i turned on infinite lives and left turok to be devoured by the rex for 10 mins. 😅
Most FPS bosses at the time were all about circle strafing without much deeper mechanics. N64 just made it hard with low framerate and an awkward controller because nothing beats keyboard and mouse when playing an FPS. The jump sections with moving platforms were harder than the bosses imo because of the controls, some of them were stupid presice and you could easily lose a lot progress if you died.
6:50 - This weapon was in the Doom mod "Russian Overkill", and is obscenely powerful. Several fire modes, one is like the full powered BFG 9000, but rapid fire, another was a massive blast of energy that puts a nuke to shame, and the final one was a 'quantum jump' that ends the level and starts you at the starting point of the next level. I had always wondered where it was from.
I love this mystic, far world. The level design is superbly complex and unique. I love Turok 1 way more than Turok 2 (I don't understand why it is so loved, the level design is so cramped of course the graphics are amazing for N64)
Turok 2 is the better game for me because it took what was good in the first game and made it better and took what was bad and got rid of it like the almost instantly respawning enemies. Yeah the level layouts could be annoying like not seeing a crack in the wall and it being an area you needed to go to for a mission objective or a level key. Also what made the second one better was it actually had a story. Yeah the first one technically had one but you never got told it in game. You literally had to read the comics to get the full story. Even the game Manuel really didn't even hint at it.
Coming from playing the original 3 (not counting Rage Wars) Evolution was just a thrown together mess. Even the devs said that do to the time crunch. The devs said that's why you could go entire levels without hearing anything about the story because they had to rush the game.
My only complain for this remastered is that the Fusion Cannon looks shitty. Its my favorite weapon till these days, even more than the BFG10000 from Doom, just one shot and everything goes "booooooooooom" but when you use with Compaigner, damn... I felt dissapointed.
Haha I remember playing Turok on my N64, I was 11 yo, didn't understand English language (I'm Frenchman) and I struggled to find cheat codes for beating the last boss (I don't remember his name)

First boss scared me as a kid, I used to have nightmares that a jeep was chasing after me and trying to run me over
such badass weapon designs... love the mag60, firestorm cannon, and the freeze gun.

Love this game series. Turok has such a nice Charme to it, I wished, they would make a new game. I mean... Dinosaurs, hello?!
I heard they are making a new version of turok 1 and 2. I think it for Xbox one or it could be for the ps4.

I have NEVER seen this before. But damn, the t-rex is absolutely horrifying.
The N64 made it a lot more terrifying because of the draw distance it was like the room was filled with fog.
