The album is called "Act 1, Scene 1", therefor the concept of both videos is a thetrical play. Chico Malo was filmed entireley in a single space, and GGBB is just 3 consecutive (and painfully succeeded!!!) one-shot takes. Just watch the behind the scenes that was released today.
p.s.: Let's get it out of our system. If these two aren't a real life couple, I can't possibly imagine what more they would have done if they were one. Seriously!!!
Solar-nim shared in a fan sign that the background sound at 3:15 was actually her singing. It was really remarkable to listen to her do it!
I love your reaction. I agree that Chico Malo in particular is just fantastic. Mamamoo has been my ult since I first saw them in 2019 when I got into k-pop through them, and they are still. But I have to agree my favorites Decalcomanie, Destiny, My Star, No More Drama, are all at least a few years old. I hope they will continue to make music for many years. By the way, Solar had an appearance on Begin Again and she did Chico Malo solo and it was excellent. I also loved her cover of Unholy.

Some of the comments say in general that mmm has peak & now on the phase of decline (or leisure or stability, something like that).
I do agree, but I think this is their phase in RBW. I don't know what they will do in the future after RBW phase but I'm looking forward for their music under different management and creative team.
I agree. I personally feel a strong desire from Mamamoo to continue promoting and putting out powerful music, but I think they've honestly outgrown their company. Knowing that mamamoo as a group will continue no matter if they're at rbw or not is comforting, and I'm REALLY curious to see what they would be able to create together away from rbw.
I could be wrong, but I believe the saying of LLL started as Solar-nim saying it to the members and then to Moos. She released the LLL spoiler for her birthday this year on Solarsido.
That feeling of disconnect kind of resonated with me. I'd still consider Mamamoo as one of my absolute favorite groups and wondered what about their comebacks is different to other groups I love.
I think with this comeback I have accepted that the exciting part of Mamamoo is over. But they still give me an incredible amount of comfort. Instead of an intense but also nervewrecking adventure they feel more like finally coming back to a warm home :)
If Mamamoo were an open world game they would have finished the main story and beaten the final boss and now they're just enjoying all the funny little side quests. Which feels different but is also great. At least for me. I hope that made sense :D
I get the disconnection to group comebacks. One of the ultimate weaknesses of Mamamoo's discography is the tendency towards what I call "compilationism", which is when a company just releases an album when they have enough prepared songs and do nothing to create a theme or mood. Their solo albums are much more cohesive and it makes it feel worse that group comebacks aren't up to the same level. Tbh, a lot of really exciting debuts have happened in the past few years and so even though Mamamoo are top ults my focus drifts away from them more quickly than in the past. I know I just said that I don't focus on them much but they are always #2 in my most listened to songs and artists(very closely behind Dreamcatcher!) because they're still absolutely foundational to my K-Pop journey. 🥰 I'm seeing them next month and fully expect to be crying, singing, screaming, literally everything.
I think MMM is one of the most emotive group. Unfortunately that means when they r feeling down, it shows in their work. It just doesnt hv that energy/aura, cant rly put a word to it. I just feel it rly shows when they r hving fun w/ their work or not.
N personnaly rather than songs aim 4 hard choreography (like hip, aya or even illela from the last cb) i like where they play with sounds better.
Thats why i just adore this MMM+ songs. Chico malo got me excited, i can imagine myself taking a shower while singing this n ggbb just makes me smile.
I really appreciate your reaction here and I think many Moomoos feel a little melancholy about Mamamoo because I think RBW has let Mamamoo coast after Reality In Black or maybe Travel. Obviously covid played a big part of that and the entire Kpop industry sorta vamped for a couple of years. And I do love Travel and I think it is a very cohesive album. MMM coasting is better than most groups but still. I'm hopeful that after the tour is over there will be a big blowout full album that lets MMM enter the next phase (whatever that is) triumphant.

Tbh I’ve always thought idol written fan songs are a way for idols to creatively explore things they feel towards other people in the only way they’re publicly allowed lol.
