Aw man, its so easy for you, you you you're endorsed by Roland and by Tama and Meinl and maybe a T-shirt or whatever. You drummers, you, you're all so well-organized but I'm just a very hobby drummer and I don't have any budget you know for these pads and these clap sounds so what the heck, why should i follow these lessons?
My drummer puts a splash cymbal on the snare actually, and it sounds even better ! It has something to do with the kind of snare and cymbals you combine though.
I simulate a clap by playing a flam on the snare with my left hand in cross stick position. It doesn't sound like an actual handclap, but neither do electronic claps.
@alphant1 whats your problem dude? the boi doesnt have broken cymbals, what, is he gonna break his own main cymbals (assuminh that he only has 1 set of cymbals), and second you cant just mess around with your main kit if youre that poor
I want it to sound even less resonant, higher pitch and more like solid wooden blocks being clapped together. Maybe pieces of wood attached like a high hat kind of arrangement. (sharp is the word?).
I don't even play drums, I'm guitarist. UA-cam just recommended this and I "ok, always nice to see some musicians tricks" and what the hell is going with this mad man lol, I loved him
Tip: put a splash cymbal on your snare, then put the tip of a stick on the snare, and hit the stick with your other hand. Sounds pretty good (without using $20 of gaffa 😅)
For a clap sound on an acoustic drum, you could also do a flam on your snare with one hand doing a cross stick and the other doing a rimshot. Imo, his methods don’t really make clap sounds and require repurposing cymbals. They aren’t bad sounds tho and certainly add a unique flavor to the kit
I’ve got a pretty good clap sound by stacking three splashes and clothespinning them together at an edge (probably the most important part - and I had to tie the clothespin to the cymbal stand center post so it wouldn’t slide off). Two clothespins on opposite sides might be better. The splashes are all mildly cracked. It’s an 8” over two 10” splashes. Then throw a bling ring (tambourine jingle thing) over that. Then a splash (or two stacked) on your Snare makes for a good electro Snare sound kinda like he had on his tom in this video.
Just get buckets. Remo even makes snap in drumheads for buckets now! So, you’re gonna need to hit the hardware store - 3 maybe 4 buckets (couple 5 gallon and a 2.5 for snare drum), 2 rolls of duct tape, a metal trash can lid, some nutsnbolts, and a piece of pvc pipe. Your welcome.
Michael Schack is one of the world's most well known (E-)drummers. He's continuously performing solo on music festival stages, in clubs and concert venues. You might also know him from his energetic performances with Netsky.
Please make a video on which legendary drummers i should listen to. I grew up in an environment where I didn't get much exposure to drumming. I need some inspiration at least in basic genres. PLEASE.

Hahaha "NOT A PROBLEM!!!"
Joel Israel Marquez yeah for me is the problem that I do not have broken cymbals at home
Should've used FLEX TAPE
*TO SHOW YOU THE POWER OF FLEX TAPE I SAWED THIS DRUM KIT IN HALF!*
This man replaced all of the blood in his body with Red Bull :)
lol
No gaffer tape
But I'm just a hobby drummer, I do not have a Gaffer tape sponsorship so why should I follow this lesson? 😄
Wow, he got so much into it that even the track tells him to relax lol
Best comment!

Because you are prepared by the universe (or God) to be drummer in your future. Just imagine the possibilities.

I can’t stop laughing, this guys cracking me up and he’s awesome at the same time lol

Vorax Transtellaris that works. i also flam a cross stick starting on the rack tom rim coming down to the snare rim. i think jojo does it?
@@nameloss Sounds even better when he crossticks splash hats on the way to the rim
+1
This guy should be selling Flex Tape!
Well I have 2 problams:
1.I dont have broken cymbals
2.I need my floor tom to play it, so I can't put a splesh on it.
just find random objects , everything make sound
@alphant1 whats your problem dude? the boi doesnt have broken cymbals, what, is he gonna break his own main cymbals (assuminh that he only has 1 set of cymbals), and second you cant just mess around with your main kit if youre that poor
with proper amount of gaffer tape you can make one more floor tom
@@yuiko335 1:34 It's not a problem... IT'S NOT A PROBLEM!
You're just enabling aviad's defeatist mentality
IT'S NOT A PROBLEM
No excuses. Random objects. Before I had a decent job I had a crappy kit and made it work. NOT A PROBLEM.
