Although Jason Beghe is a very talented and experienced actor; there is no doubt his voice adds a little extra "gravitas" to the role, as does his graying hair and the few well-placed furrows across his brow. If only all actors, (male and female) were able to age naturally and still find such quality roles.
He was in a coma for 3 and a half weeks after a bad car accident in 1999. During that coma he involuntarily ripped out his breathing tube from time to time which messed up his vocal cords. A direct before and after, compare his voice in 1998 projects he was in to 2000 projects.
