Frank Black is an unstoppable force of nature. Unreal talent and raw energy.
Absolutely agree. And I've seen lot of shows. Like Bowie. There is no better bar band than The Catholics. Always took everyone attention right to the stage all night long
So underrated
I was there. The sun was setting during Two Reelers. It was awesome. Thanks.
I was there too!!! 19 years old was I. Remember the bass player and that beard?
I was there too. He never sounded finer. Strange songs from a melting pot mind in mirror shades.
could have been Eric Feldman
@@dmarkcox definitely was
Me too, do you remember the boys chanting "You fat b**tard" as he walked on stage? He smiled.
What a ridiculously amazing fucking set! Hate Me live is a treat.
Thanks for this, I was at Reading 94, brings back memories. We'rent Hole on beforehand, seem to recall Courtney getting heckled and people were throwing bottles of piss at her 😂. I'm sure Pavement followed Frank...
The 90’s were the best !!!! I sound like an old geezer !!😂
Great set, thanks for sharing. Saw him in Dublin 24 hours before this show, almost identical set.
Yes, this is a great early show
Quelle classe ce FRANK....Un grand grand monsieur du ROCK
oh que Oui , ils sera avec les Pixies en concert à l'Olympia le 15 Mars 2023
Thanks for uploading! Frank Black is the best!
Damn Frank can you stop rocking FOR ONE SECOND? Damn
Thank ya so much,Mr Mark.xcellant recording of such an early FB.show!! M
Amazing version of 'Czar'!
And 'Parry the Wind...'
And whatever happened to pong? And the vanishing spies!! ....
And the extra unlisted at the end!!! Tribute to Jonathan Richman
Magnificent !
eric drew feldman on bass
lyle workman on guitar
nick vincent on drums
yum 😋
Nick Vincent is MAD. Not many drummers can stay "locked in the pocket" when the rest of the band is locked in a completely different pocket, but that's what he does at the end of "Parry the Wind High, Low," innit...
Thanks for uploading all these great concerts
28:10 Czar
oh yeah!
36:36 Hate Me .... temazo
"Black harvest moon over my head, yes it was..." 34:50
Fuck yes learn!
Joey Santiago on guitar yes? a great musician...no it's Lyle Workman, fabulous job...
Ha ha! Censored himself for all the kiddies at Reading!
This is a great recording; I think Nimrod suffered a bit
The first Catholics album came out in '96- were they called FB and the Cs back then in '94?
This is Frank Black. (On his own !)
No but there were already a few band members playing with him who would eventually be the Catholics
