Conor Mc Ginty - "A New Dawn - The Show" - Jackie

Was holding off on posting this. But thought tonight (30th Jan 2020) was appropriate. Forty eight years ago today 14 innocent people were gunned down on the streets of Derry. Seven of which were teenagers. The day known now in history as ''Bloody Sunday". If you are from Derry you know & realise the hurt and pain that was caused on the 30th January 1972 ... & the lasting impact it had on our hometown & on history itself. Thankfully the days of murder & violence are, for the most part, gone.
I heard this song for the first time 8 years ago in Badgers Bar by the songwriter himself Mr Gerry "Dougie" Breslin" and I tortured Dougie to sing it over and over again every time I have seen him play since.
Taken from my Album Launch at The City Hotel Derry on November 1st passed this is my version of "Jackie". A song which tells the story of Jackie Duddy, his family, Bloody Sunday & the impact it had right up until the British Governments apology in 2010. A massive thanks goes to Darron Mark for putting together an amazing video to go alongside it.
