  • What Are the Different Types of Vitrified Tiles?
There are three different types of vitrified tiles that are available in the market
Vitrified tiles are one of the most popular tiling options. These tiles are hard,e hard, dense, strong and highly stain-resistant. Different types of manufacturing processes are used to produce different types and qualities of vitrified tiles.
    Glazed vitrified tiles
Glazed vitrified tiles are also known as GVT tiles. These tiles are manufactured on a glazed surface and are printed with digital technology. A large number of patterns can be achieved like vitrified tiles which simulate the look of wood, bamboo and marble. These tiles are also known as digital glazed vitrified tiles.
The thickness of the glazed layer is less than 1 millimetre thick, which makes them suitable only for areas of low or medium traffic.
These tiles can be classified into two types namely
Soluble salt vitrified tiles which are the cheapest variety of vitrified tiles. Some soluble salts are used to penetrate the tile surface and give it its colour, pattern and design during the manufacturing process. The disadvantage of these tiles is that the tile may fade due to wear and tear.
Nano polished soluble salt tiles are manufacture by adding a layer of liquid silica to the soluble salt vitrified tiles. This process fills the nano or micro pores of the tile and gives it a more smooth and shiny look than soluble salt vitrified tiles. These tiles have good resistance to abrasion and require very little maintenance.
    2. Full body vitrified tiles
The full body vitrified tiles have a uniform colour running throughout their thickness because of which the tile never fades in its lifetime. Therefore this tile is most suitable for high traffic areas especially commercial spaces Hence, the tile never fades in its lifetime and are the most expensive vitrified tiles.
    3. Double charged vitrified tile
In double charged vitrified tiles, two colours of pigments are used during manufacturing where the press prints a 3-4-millimetre-thick layer of a dual-coloured pattern on the tile. These tiles are highly durable, maintenance-free and suitable for high-traffic areas.
