It must have been tricky for him to strike the right tone of humour in what could have been a very awkward speech. His choice of final words I think must have been a list-minute addition to soften the tone as he must have been afraid the speech would strike too sour a note.
I've been practicing speaking in English trying to imitate the way he talks and he makes some inappropriate yet funny ackward jokes~ i can't wait to read his memoir also in the near future I dont know why he haven't wrote any books himself.. i really love him in every aspect of him as an actor and comedian and the lovely husband of his wife . Pls i want u to write at least one book steve~~♡ with audio cd attached , which will be awesome pls~~

No way someone who came to the game almost 2 decades later deserved it first no matter how comprehensive their career is. Letterman started a production company that is very successful, directly launching the career of Ray Romano while indirectly influencing Kimmel, Conan and, yes, even Tina Fey among others.

Though I see most (not all) of the prize winners being more well known as comedy actors themselves as well, in scripted film and television, and that may have played a bigger part.
