Hey just to let you know the foot pedal for the throttle is on most of them and make sure the clutch is all the way forward because when the clutch is all the way back it can hop in gear when you are starting it then it will run you over
We had a Model H when I was a teenager. It blew smoke rings when we burned kerosene. No idea if that was normal or some oddity with our tractor - it was pretty old even in the 1970s. I gotta say, too: a foot throttle on a Model H just ain't natural. I suppose it's OK for running on the pavement, but the thing is too bouncy to run it fast enough off-road to need quick throttle adjustments. 😮
Really enjoyed your video. I have a little electric start H out in my shop that I just need to get a working on. Many projects, life you how that goes lol👍🏻
Your H starts a helluva lot easier than mine, LOL. Think my mag has probably seen better days. Think mine might be a '46, but it's got that foot throttle on it like yours. Good luck with the restoration -
Thank you! Yeah this one has less than 100 hours since rebuild. I’ll make a video one day on timing the mags. That makes life so easy!! Thanks for watching!
Thats my luck too, Anytime I've tried to make a video a stupid plane flys around. And I live out 60 miles from any airport. Kinda Funky...... Love your tractor, I searched JD H because I saw one for sale near me. I want a Johnny Popper.

Wow, Jon, you farming now. I grew up on a 43 acre farm. Up until the 70’s we had mules pulling the equipment. My brother got a Ford in the mid 70’s.
Awesome! hope y'all are well!

Beautiful tractor. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
1940 was not the only year for a foot throttle , a 1947 m0del had it, too.
The model h,, clutch and pulley runs backwards because it's on the camshaft not crankshaft like all the others,, final drive is from camshaft!!
The oil pump is shaped like a Christmas tree on the h,, driven off the camshaft

I love mine! its fun to cruise around on for sure
My H model is an HN, 1945, electric start, and my B is a BN, 1944, hand start. The H doesn’t run just yet but the B will run
Awesome!!! I love these old beasts!!
Definitely the Deere!
It's called THERMO-SIPHON
The old 3+3 is just as sexy!
All of the H's I've seen has that foot throttle
All the h John Deere have foot throttle not just that YEAR!!
I have a foot throttle on my 1942 model H
3/4 gallon small tank capacity
Sweet machine!!🤪😜🤪
Thanks Mom! Love you!
I guess the model H is a diesel? Do you run with diesel fuel or kerosene after the tractor is warmed up?
H is a gasoline for cold starting.
Turn the tank switch to run on distillate/ kerosene after it's warmed up. Not Diesel.
My 1939 H has a foot throttle
The H.
The cu in of the "h" model was only 99 cuin
