  • This was probably my favorite pitch on the whole climb.
The pitch ends at a cruxy spot where Caleb dropped one of my double-length slings in the crack and I had to do some nut tool gymnastics to get it back.
This was also my first time using walkie-talkies while climbing, they are definitely sweet tools to have.

Amazing, a perfect route to place nice pieces!

Extend the runner and put in another piece a little higher. It takes less time saving energy, backs up the first piece that is less likely to walk due to the runner, cams and runners are so light now carry what you need and move on. Speed and efficiency, is safety in the mountains and it's the movement over stone that is fun part.

You wanted to extend your first piece but were worried about potentially decking due to the extension, but you're using two half ropes. Could you have just clipped one rope (say red) then clipped the black rope with your next piece? Isn't that the purpose of climbing with two half ropes?
