Super and quite important interview. Very nice guys, and I’m so glad to learn about their great respect for their parents, other brothers and their individual musicianship and “Dave” aka Dad. Also, I really liked the brilliant camera angle.

Yes, Dave is worth a second viewing and I'm sure you would enjoy our session with Iola as well.
When I was going to Seton Hall University in the early 70's, we had Dave and his sons (I believe these two wonderful gentlemen, Chris and Dan, along with their older brother Darius) perform. I was studying drumming with Joe Morello at the time and also working at our radio station WSOU. Everyone at the station knew that I was such a huge Brubeck fan, so after the concert I did an interview with Dave. I later sent that tape to Dave. When he passed away he included it in his archives at the College of the Pacific. As always, Monk does such a tremendous job here with his scholarly and warm intelligence and thoughtful navigation of this conversation. Chris and Dan are just so musically hip.This is such a delightful visit.
