UPDATED: FEB 24, 2021 - Update Oct 6 2021 if you guys see this check out this video for more information on how important hormonal checks are! I am now realizing my depression has a root issue being address finally after YEARS!!

I would also like to post this in the aid of anyone who no longer needs to be on Paxil. I am sure many might stumble upon this as well with that similar question. Honestly if you are on it for a long time or prescribed to be on it for a life time it's going to be hard. I do fully recommend to try to use a combo of benadryl + ASHWAGANDHA. Benadryl helps wonders with brain zaps. (previously I mentioned kratom but a lot of people have addictive personalities and shouldn't use that if that is the case). This from experience has helped the best. I also broke the pill down and went 20 - 10 - 5 - 2.5 with at least a week in between. I am NOT a doctor so be sure to communicate openly with your doctor!
most common question : * see updated at top this is old * Do I still take Paxil ?
Recently have made the switch over to Wellbutrin since I had gained a lot of weight (not everyone is like that + it is possible to lose weight normally still) the weight isn't bad as long as you don't have obsessive eating with it like I did. I have a sedentary lifestyle also that most don't which weight would then go unnoticed. I have blood work coming up for testosterone / thyroid / blood sugar due to stuff running in my family so will update if that contributed to any ill mental feelings as well. Thanks for all the support! PLEASE feel free to answer others or tell your stories in the comments!

Thank you for this video, I watched it before agreeing to take paxil and it really helped me make the choice. I honestly feel better, I used to wake up everyday feeling crazy fear/doom even though nothing was wrong, and it started working almost right away for me. It's honestly a gift to be able to enjoy living, and all this time I worried medication would make me a zombie. Totally not the case. This video deserves way more likes.

I get so frustrated that people will say "you don't need medication"....they don't understand that for some people, it's on another level. Just because anxiety is common, they think it's not possible for someone to have it far worse than the average person who can just go to yoga and be fine. They don't understand that for some people, medication really does improve quality of life tremendously.

Thank you for making this video. My story sounds very similar to yours, and hearing you speak of Paxil (which is what I take) was reassuring. I do very well on it, and I've also stopped taking it several times trying to find more 'natural' ways of dealing with my anxiety and depression, to no avail. Paxil is awesome! I went from suicidal to having a girlfriend and a life.
    Been on for ten years.
Went off once, and lots of people noticed my withdrawal.
It silenced the self doubting voice that replays conversations. My own voice that constantly told me how stupid I was.
It did make me a little light headed, sleepier(lots of naps). But it has been a positive life changer.
Used to have to make sure none of the neighbors were outside before going out to get the mail..

I’ve been trying to come off these for over 27 years and always realise I need them and end up going back to them .
The longest has been 4 months .
I’m ok for a few weeks then it gets worse . It’s definitely not a placebo for me .
The confusion and brain fog is immense almost like I was losing my mind .
Like you said on here , I too have struggled to find a natural replacement that softens the over thinking .

My depression is definitely because I'm always anxious. Panic attacks, insomnia, pit in my stomach 24/7, agoraphobia. Everyone says the same thing, 'oh, I have anxiety too". So sick of hearing people say that. Not putting their issues down at all but there're disorders and there's normal healthy anxiety.

Where you having panic attacks before you started, and if so, how are they now? I started Paxil when I was 35. I had 4 children to take care, an ex, and a wife and was working in corrections. Paxil saved my life as well. But after being on it for about 20 years, I had gained a ton of weight. I got off it when I retired, started losing weight, but the twin demons of anxiety and depression came out of hibernation. I will be 59 in two weeks. I am now on Welbutrin and doing better than when I was on Paxil. Love life is pretty good--had very little with Paxil. Similar story here. I heard terrible things about prescription medication and was scared to death of taking it. But thanks to modern science, medicinal drugs such as SSRI’s and Z-Drugs have fewer side effects, less chance of addiction, less chance of tolerance, and can be taken for longer terms. I had gotten minor PTSD from security work which caused me social anxiety and I always assumed people were criminals. So I was a little on edge, I’d ALWAYS assume people were up to devious acts, and I worried I was being judged everywhere I went. Because of my SSRI (Amitryptamine 25mg) I’m feeling normal again. I use to be so anxious I wouldn’t even sleep some nights. Best part is I started taking SSRI’s during my favorite time of the year. Halloween (Oct) Thanksgiving and my Bday (November) and Christmas (December) I can now enjoy my holidays with family and so far I’m sleeping pretty descently. I almost feel like those happy people in the drug commercials. So glad I was born in this time era. Any other era and our doctors would be prescribing us cocaine syrup and snake oil. 😆
