I really believe the reason players are sk defensive this chapter is because of no siphon making players more scared to fight cause of the risk of fighting a third part without health

Bro everyone boxes in this season because they all have PTSD from getting headshot sniped every time they don’t cover up, every time you build fight and not box fight you’re risking getting 200 by some loser 200 meters away. That is probably the biggest reason for the overly defensive playstyle of everyone, as well as people just wanting to box fight
Not just that but also the crazy DPS from the striker AR means that someone can do 120 damage in half a second. You literally don't have any time to react at all and your down weak.

also the insane rise of box fight pvp. so many people practice box fights so much that as soon as they gain some altitude in a fight they attempt to fight how they know best. and the threat of getting chopped out or dying to fall looms around so they’d rather stay grounded and fight

I think piece control really started to become a big thing once raiders piece control map came out/started getting popular.

I think boxfights is just so much more important these days because people are just so much more focused on winning games than having good and high kill games. I usually play zb, but when I play builds, I barely get into any actual buildfights because people just don't want to fight me and just box up, hoping I am the one that gets headshot-sniped
Well with how op snipers are this season am scared to box fight players especially if I take damage then a third party rolls up

I dont know if its simply time played or that he switched keybinds but he improved so much after he swapped to perfect keybinds

@aha3411 he switched builds from x z c v to using mb1, left shift, mb2, v
Basically allows him to have perfect movement while placing all of his builds

Also people box up more because there is no health on kill anymore, so they want to take the least damage possible. It's just the current meta. but as the meta goes on longer and longer, it will become the norm. bring back health on kill.

We get siphon off kills we just don't get the health anymore, I meant to write this how I did . So I guess you infact are not "that guy" cheers.
I have recently started playing fortnite occasionally again and when I play build fights on a dedicated build fight map it always turns into a box fight and when I used to play back in chapter 1 it was normally "frowned upon" to do that and you were normally blocked after the fight or were made fun of in vc even if you lost for doing that
I think the biggest difference of chapter 3 vs chapter 4 is more right hand peaks

chapter 2 season 4 was peak fortnite imo, had soo much fun playing fort back then ( was also the season i started fort haha)

its because of the syphon being gone, i f you build fight and get cracked and kill them there is nothing you can do, you need syphon to be agressive.

there are 2 main reasons that players are so defensive this chapter. no siphon causing them to be scared of a third party, and the sniper spawn rate is just simply too high. 75% of solo games i die to a third party, 15% i die to a sniper, 5% i die off spawn and the other 5% the other player was just better
