The dome was magical
I was lucky enough to work security at the dome in the early 90s. I got to work the Super Bowl, final four, Metallica & Guns N Roses. But hands down my best metronome moment came around midnight with no one in the stands. I worked overnight at the dome after the Twins won in 91. Standing on the pitchers mound I was overwhelmed by the experience. Literally a couple hours ago the eyes of the world were on the spot where I was. I could still feel electricity in the quiet and semi dark.
I have to admit I have never felt happier or more at peace then I did for the 30 or so minutes I spent on the field my hero's just won it all on
And then there's the football team... Never felt anything but let down by the purple and gold
Making that one night so much more special
At least the Vikings made it to the Super Bowl.
I live....AND DIE for the Honolulu Blue & Silver. But will my Lions go to the Super Bowl? Maybe not in my lifetime.
There is a pain only Vikings Lions and Bills fans can understand.
That feeling of, no matter how great things go. You can never just enjoy it. Because the better the season goes the greater the pain when the team blows it it's in the genes..

I wish my school competed in comps for marching band but we didn’t have one in 2005 and this was my first year of marching would’ve been a good feeling, but standing on the 25 yard line having Jumbotron and seats all around me in the US bank stadium was still a dream that I had.
They didn't build Air Conditioning into the original structure and had to add it in 1983. They didn't think they needed air conditioning and they found out the hard way.

After the GRATEFUL DEAD / BOB DYLAN / TOM PETTY played there in '86 (same show) the hippie vibes and reefer remained the whole time!!

I mean was anybody really surprised that the roof collapsed under the snow. Clearly it wasn't built for snow despite being in MN

Used to go on field trips to roller blade there, you could get some serious speed in those corridors.
Went to a Twins game here in 2006 and it was really showing it's age by then.
As a Packers fan I could watch the roof clip over and over with joy 😂

As a Vikings fan, I actually cheered when it happened because that meant a new stadium was imminent.

The minnesota Timberwolves played there first season there jn 1989.i got to see chicago bulls play there and got to see my childhood hero Micheal Jordan on a steal sore in the air and dunk it.never forget it.

I mean it wasn’t the snow that collapsed it. Yes it helped bring the roof down but what really brought it down was the wind. The wind ripped open one of the panels and the entire roof lost air and then started to collapse. Snow just helped bring it down

The metrodome have events like the super bowl final four MLB all-star game The world series high school sports Concerts Wrestling rock Monster trucks team Umizoomi Halloween party and other events. On December 12 2010 the metrodome was collapsed
