Damn right! Why wasn't this film considered a classic?! Why? Because it's too damn good for midstream America. Fight Club & American History X, anyone??....
Edward Norton is totally amazing in this (and almost everything he does) but I also want to point out Richard Gere! At 2:08 his face goes from pain and annoyance to immediate confusion and sympathy because he sees this poor kid clearly has something wrong with him. (Altho we all know how it ends) but good on this whole cast!
1n50mniac it’s because he’s incredibly difficult to work with. He truly wants to immerse himself in the role and in return wants creative control and even wants to change scripts/ scenes which, as you can imagine, can be tough for directors to handle when A. They have a vision or B. They have an ego. Or really, C. Because writer’s job is to write, a director to direct, and an actor to act. But I agree, the dude is seriously brilliant regardless of how hands on he is
Watching this clip, when he said that Aaron comes to him crying every time then Aaron saying that he does not know Roy gives a few bits of clue about how it was all an act
I’m the dude playing a dude pretending he is another dude talking about a third guy who made up the original guy, but the original guy was the one who was made up to begin with, and made up guy is the real guy
haha that's amazing. Edward would love that. He once told a story of coming a movie theater in NZ that was playing "Sleepless in Seattle" and these two old ladies said to each other "now who was that young man?" "i believe tom hanks?" "oh he was good. i like him, he's got potential" and Eddie thought how great it was that there were places in the world where Tom Hanks is still just has potential.
Plot discrepancy - "Roy" here quotes Aaron as coming crying to him and saying "help me Roy". But Aaron later tells Richard Gere that he had no idea who or what "Roy" was when he heard the psychologist and Laura Linney talking about him.
Loved it. Richard Gere never disappoints, and Edward Norton was wonderful. A story with an unexpected twist at the end. A movie to watch more than once.
Such a good movie. I tried to sample my favorite pieces of dialogue and chop it. Still got over 8 minutes :D The dynamicity of their voice acting is truly amazing. From young Edward, sounding like an eminem in roy-mode, to Marty, changing his anger, to sheepishly satisfied tone of accomplishment. 11/10. First time saw it was 15 years ago and I still have to watch it, at least once a year.
I already watch it multiple times (Can't count it anymore) but I still don't get it why he need to came back to Aaron when the Doctor enter the room. He just can stay as Roy and frightening the Doc.
+doraluffy she would have called security or something. He acted the same way a little sibling would after hitting you when the parents come to make them think he's not responsible
Because the doctor asked for Aaron and the doctor had shown to care about him, so he wasn't scared anymore. Aaron is the dominant personality and calls for Roy when he gets aggravated and can't handle a situation. The doctor had been good to Aaron and was being sympathetic here, so he wouldn't need Roy anymore. At least, that's what I figure was Roy's logic in changing character in that moment.
Seeing how everyone goes totally gaga over Ed Norton in 'Primal Fear'(rightfully so),I am leaning to think that it's actually Richard Gere & Laura Linney's performances that are more underrated.
I certainly don't have a multiple personality disorder. Stop throwing everything to see what sticks. Even my doctors have changed their story over and over, as I kept my narrative the same. Let's face it, I am the only one calling a doll a doll. There are tapes to support my account.
I have no words to describe how amazing Edward Norton's acting is.
What about richard’s?
Ehhh, I think it was a juicy role that anyone with talent would have chewed up. I think his performance in American History X was far better.
@leeartlee915 The cool thing about this performance is that this was his first performance on film. It's sick as hell
so true
@@leeartlee915don’t think so
When he first became Roy, I was absolutely blown away. This might be the greatest acting performance in history..
I agree 1 million percent.
@atkaschatrue
Damn right! Why wasn't this film considered a classic?!
Why?
Because it's too damn good for midstream America.
Fight Club & American History X, anyone??....
WHEN HE SHOOK HIS HAND THAT SENT ME 💀💀💀💀💀
"Oh Jesus I'm sorry, yeah :)" lmao
Sent you where?
It’s so funny
Primal Fear, Fight Club, The Incredible Hulk. I detect a pattern, mister Norton.
+Luke sol maybe thats why he got the hulk part cause of those previous movies
leaves of grass...kind of
Luke S The Score with Bobby de Niro. Definitely.
illuminati confirmed
Don't forget the Italian job
This movie is genius.
Richard Gere did really well, honestly Norton just blew the role out of the water.

Yeah, i like Richard geres acting in this. The point finger thing he did is also really good. Perhaps ed norton acting makes him better
One of my very favorite films.
It was me boy !
Jane Doe it was you:)
when he said HELL NO 😭😭😭😭 why is that funny i am so easily amused 💀
I just watched it today and figured out that the reason he flipped out over the tape was because he generally forgot to get rid of it
The kid who plays Aaron/Roy is brilliant!
The actor is Edward Norton
Ed was amazing in this....my favorite actor. I don't know why but he hasnt been in anything good lately...shame too because he is a brilliant actor.
1n50mniac Birdman?

This movie deserved more notice
Such good acting

0:20 His impersonation of Aaron kills me. 🤣😆🤣
haha that's amazing. Edward would love that.

I see no mention of his acting in American History X. Fantastic flick.
Maybe because this clip is from Primal Fear
Edward Norton is really good wow
And Richard
Edward nortons work in this movie was just phenomenal. He is an amazing Actor
At 1:35, it kinda sounds like Ada Wong's Theme from Resident Evil.
The novel itself explains Aaron Stampler's root causes. The movie is restored by Edward Norton's performance.
True. I did watch the movie and read the book. Good stuff
Yea,"Fight Club" is one of my fav movies, but I love Norton in "The Score"also.Another awesome performance of E.Norton
That punch DANG
Edward Norton is amazing
Primal Fear deserves video essays
Plot discrepancy - "Roy" here quotes Aaron as coming crying to him and saying "help me Roy". But Aaron later tells Richard Gere that he had no idea who or what "Roy" was when he heard the psychologist and Laura Linney talking about him.
Edward Norton was ROBBED off the two Oscar nominations he scored during the 90s: American History X and, SPECIALLY, this one…
The moment he stuttered imitating "Aaron" should've told the lawyer everything he needed to know about the guys abilities to switch on the fly.
Loved it. Richard Gere never disappoints, and Edward Norton was wonderful. A story with an unexpected twist at the end. A movie to watch more than once.
Norton is brilliant in this but these two were dancing and it takes two to do that. Ty Mr. Gere.

I ca can't take it anymore
Anyone else come here after learning that Jamie Campbell Bower was given this scene as a "side" to use for his audition as Henry/One/Vecna?
Why he looks scared when he saw the doctor?
doraluffy watch the fucking movie boy, you'll understand why
I already watch it multiple times (Can't count it anymore) but I still don't get it why he need to came back to Aaron when the Doctor enter the room. He just can stay as Roy and frightening the Doc.
+doraluffy she would have called security or something. He acted the same way a little sibling would after hitting you when the parents come to make them think he's not responsible
+doraluffy because he needed to make a doctor believe that he was 2 different person, that's why he did it when she entered into the room
Because the doctor asked for Aaron and the doctor had shown to care about him, so he wasn't scared anymore. It was his debut movie! He had not another movie before this!
Both Primal fear and The Jackal are Richard Gere’s best movies
Seeing how everyone goes totally gaga over Ed Norton in 'Primal Fear'(rightfully so),I am leaning to think that it's actually Richard Gere & Laura Linney's performances that are more underrated.
After watching Edward's performances in primal fear I can see why he was cast in fight club
The fact that his acting was not that good as he's a first timer on screen is the reason why this is perfect!
Edward norton great actor felicidades👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wish I could see the whole movie
Also in The Illusionist
I wanna tell you, everybody has a piece of her, you know what i am sayin'
When u realize that primal fear is the exact reason Tyler Durden exist lmao. Now I understand
I love this movie.

Ohhhhhhhhh man, what a great movie :D
that was a primo film
don't forget the incredible hulk
Ironically in Fact: Mark Ruffalo was originally the director Louis Leterrier’s first choice for the role of Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk.
A Bollywood named Dewaangee ditto copy of this
