Never watched this until last week then we binge watched all 3 series. Stunning production and fabulous acting by all concerned but Sarah Lancashire knocked it out the park as always and James absolutely brilliant!!
That kitchen scene MUST have been exhausting. The eyes going from weariness to agony to forgiveness to incredubility that laugh looking at little Ryan in the album. The raw emotion

James and Sarah are exceptional!! They were brilliant. Such the right characters for happy valley. Best drama ever! Based on how one event leads to another. It had to be this ending because the emotions were so high and he knew he'd be banged up for life in prison [in the drama]. Brilliant, just brilliant, I wish these actors many years of success!! Bless them both!

One of the best dramas to hit the tvforvyears. Brilliant storyline and out of this world acting. James, the scene in the kitchen with Cathetine had me first hating Tommy, then really feeling for him and horror at the way he set himself on fire. You're a first class actor

Of course -- that's the brilliance of the writing, and of course James's acting. And, yeah, I have COMPLICATED feelings (like, in my ovaries 🥚🥚) about TLR 😬
I saw him in a pub (his local?) a few years ago and he was so chill! 😊

His character in the program is the opposite end of the spectrum.
He's such an amazing actor and Happy Valley is one of the best crime shows from the UK. Incredible writing and cast. Top shelf theatre.
I like this channel, but sometimes I see things like this and feel like a mid 20th century Judge, asking, “And, what is a, ‘happy valley,’ pray tell?” I take it this was a big deal on TV or something?

I’d like to thank everyone involved in the making of happy valley a totally brilliantly acted programme with stunning scenes it’s the best series I’ve ever seen I loved it to bits and il watch it over and over again , well done to all involved in the making of this wonderful British series ❤
Awful ending and rushed endings to tidy up the sub plots.
Needed another episode at least.

Genius ending It doesn't always have to be bangs and crashes and gory deaths to have you hooked Quality writing,acting and direction in the whole of the final episode

another posh boy - the acting profession is just an extension of the public school system now
He might be a posh boy, but he is a fantastic actor and that's all that matters. His parents were school teachers so hardly silver-spoon upbringing.
