I despise potting up plants. So tedious and messy. Last year I tried planting right into 3 inch pots but I had a good amount of seeds that didn’t germinate, and took up so much room on my grow light shelf. This year I’m planting things thickly into solo cups and then once they get their first set of true leaves, separating them and potting them in the 3inch cups again. I think it’ll work better, less mess to deal with.

Yes I used to do the same - planting 1 seed in a 4 inch pot.
I really don't like plug trays, but they sure do save space! 2inch Soil blocks also work well, but I find them to be far to messy for in the house. I prefer to use them later in the season when the greenhouse is up and running. Charles Dowding has an excellent video on starting seeds close together. He changed my mind for sure. Not all things like this method but many do. Perhaps see if a friend wants to come help you with potting up plants. wine or tea & good conversation makes tedious jobs go by faster. 😃

I've goofed up in my initial steps on many things. Thankfully with the plentiful starter plants, I got a lot of practice. That helped the learning curve timeline for sure. I enjoyed the video. 👍💪🙏

Thank you! Im now deep diving into “Honey Berry” & wondering how I am not already growing it. 😁 I’m also in North Idaho and appreciate the gardening content that’s more local.👍
