@@PrimedProductions well... I heard someone say you should have double the amount the watch costs before you buy it. Just so you have enough to actually use the thing without excessive fear of loosing it / dropping it / getting robbed.

you make the best watch videos in the world :) the narrative, syntax, discourse.......perfect. no other makes videos like you, you managed to be professional and not boring in the same time, kudos.
FC is a very underated brand. I own a Frederique Constant Slimline Power Reserve, with an In-House movement and 50 hour power reserve and I will not it give up.
Because more complications don't necessarily reflect on price. For example the Richard Lange has no complications, yet it's more expensive than this breguet. He is just showcasing the "poor man's" breguet.
the FC owners should get a nobel prize, they make amazing high quality watches, mainly the moonphase and worldtimer models with in house movements for a reasonable pricing and there is no logic to buy crazy price watches like this Breguet
It’s not about logic though. It’s about an emotional connection with a piece. That’s why people buy patek and others. As well as the tour de force of engineering prowess. Of course if you can’t afford it that makes the whole argument pointless. But there are many differences and they explain many of them in this video. You could argue any price point is ridiculous. Casio budget owners for instance will ponder the sanity of the Frederique constant pricing for instance. You either get it, want it and ultimately can afford it. Or you don’t.
I have both brands in my collection. FC is very good watch with perfect decoration and manufactured calibere. IMHO, underrated price of this lovely brand.
Breguet seems to be not on many people‘s radar as it should be. People go nuts over Patek Philippe however I would take a Breguet every day of the week.
The Frederique Constant is beautiful, and a great value, but Breguet has nothing to worry about. A Breguet customer is buying into the brand history, not value as measured by quality and features per dollar. They're both great watches in separate categories, not competing head-to-head.
If you like watches like that but you are on a pretty tight budget you may enjoy the Tissot LeLocle. Not exactly a luxury watch and certainly not comparable to a Breguet obviously but still a pretty nice watch for around 500 EUR I think?
Got that one too with the white dial. Could not agree more with you. Given the low-range price the LeLocle comes with a pretty solid wristband. Tissot actually made some effort to add some pretty nice embellishments to the case and the ETA movement. For around 500 EUR you can't go wrong with the LeLocle or pretty much any Tissot watch.
Breguet is just a master piece, with the sub sub dials and the hand guiloche dials are made to perfection. I think Chronoswiss might offer a taste of Breguet with a fraction of the price. I would like to see a FP Journe, Moser or Grönefeld next. Thanks for the great content.
Interesting comparison. I've been a Breguet fan for years but they've never been in my budget. That FC is nice and at that price looks quite tempting. Wish it had a seconds hand though. Another Breguet "alternative" are older model Chronoswiss watches. Something like a Kairos or Tora do a fine job of capturing the look/style. But yes, the innovation is not there either when compared to Breguet. Ciao, John
FC is a decent, quality manufacturer, if you like a design, go for it. I like a slimline models a lot! The model in the video is often for sale for less than 1000€! Well worth the purchase. The only negative thing is the pin buckle instead of folding clasp.
Dear Watchfinder & Co. Firstly, thank you for posting these great videos. I watch your videos every time you post a new one. I have a request: could you please make a video of watch magazines if there is any? I would love to educate myself more by reading. In addition to your channel, I feel that a proper watch magazine would be a great supplementary source for horological information. Many thanks and keep up the good work! Greeting from Finland.
Breguet on the Eiffel Tower is A. L. Breguet’s grandson. Great video, more Breguet content!!! Also FC is not in the same class at all, but interesting comparison.
I own a Breguet and a FC both with guilloché decorations. The hand cut guilloché on the Breguet is some much more interesting and enchanting while the FC looks dead and sterile. Is worth 10 times the price? I like both watches but the Breguet is a magical piece the FC is just nice.
I like FC don't get me wrong. but in this video FC looks like a cheap Chinese knock off when put side by side with a Brequet. The guilloché on the Breguet is just awesome!
Agreed. A lot of lesser brands look decent in isolation, but when put side by side to the masters that they draw their inspiration from, there is almost never a comparison in quality
yeah, he kinda ruined Frederique Constant for me lol i was eyeing one but now...i dont know, probably end up buying it since i cant afford a breguet lmao
The FC is for right-minded aspirants (nothing wrong with that). The Breguet is for gentlemen - pure class. As with the more classic Patek designs, something to be handed down through the generations. Interestingly, the style will date less than the Patek. Breguet is timeless (but please forgive the pun.)
The Frederique Constant is a beautiful watch while Breguet is a wonderful watch. Abraham Louis Breguet not only invented new mechanical watch technology, he was the watchmaker of the European Monarchs.
Thank you for another excellent video. Would it be possible to consider reviewing the Parmigiani Fleurier Toric, old (with Zenith El Primero movement) and new, please?
(I don't know if you check comments two years after publishing a video, but regardless, your video is new to me.) Such an informative comparison, with your usual incredibly interesting closeups. But as you compared the guilloche of the two watches, you only mentioned the Frederique Constant "...appears washed-out and flat", rather than telling us how it's made. Is it also hand engraved? Stamped by a machine? Other? As a novice, I appreciate all the information I can get, and guilloche is one area most watchmakers don't give any information on in their websites, leaving the potential customers to...well, guess.
Amazing video, just a question. In the description you have mentioned FC-306MC4S36 but when checked its actually FC-306MC4S35 Is this a typing mistake or you are having a newer version, kindly clarify
Your numbers are correct, but it is a bit confusing. 1 hertz = 1 oscillation/sec - you are talking about number of vibrations or semi-oscillations per second, which is two times per a oscillation. Therefore 10 hertz: (1/10)^(-1) oscillation/sec * 60 sec/per min * 60 min/per hour = 36.000 oscillation per hour or 72.000 semi-oscillations per hour. I love watching your videos!
Hello, again another lovely video. I am wondering whether it is possible to make a video on the Rolex batman and submariner and explain why they are so sought after? Many thanks.
Real world review on the Classique Chonométrie: Breguet will charge you 6k for a dial that doesn't say "10Hz" or "20 40 60" (or at least that's what they charged me). Totally worth it.
If you are after "cheaper" well made Breguet look alike (retrograde, or otherwise ?) .... buy the Chronoswiss. The Chronoswiss movement finishes and attention to detail is up there with the best. The Fred Constant watches are not even that good value for money, when compared to Longines, or the mid range Omega, let alone the Breguet.
Keep in mind that Patek would charge at least 100k € for the same watch, thus 20k for a watch from a more prestigious and technically more capable brand like Breguet is almost a bargain. Not that Patek would be able to produce such a movement in the first place.
For you who still doesn't know, FC used a new high tech silicon escape wheel in 2007 which first introduce by Patek in 2005. And in this year 2018, they created the world's first hybrid mechanical smartwatch. Not to mention their 50$ donation program for every open heart line watches that being sold. We know you want more watches…. click here: linktr.ee/watchfinder
It's unfair to the Frederique Constant though. I think it should have been compared to the Breguet Classique 5157
That "10 Hz" print on the Brequet's dial is as silly as it would be to print "600 hp" on the hood of a Bentley.
@Motorsoul ss For the same reason some cars have too many stinkin' badges.
I was thinking the same thing
Lots of cars have the engine size on the badge, jaguar used to have it on the hood ornament
I don't mean to laugh 😂 but now that you mentioned it 🤔 you may have a point.
An almost perfect dial 🥲
The “10hz” on the Breguet spoils the aesthetic of the dial.
Jellyfish 703 I know! It's absolutely beautiful and would be one of my all time favorites aesthetically if it weren't for the 10hz
Agreed, way to modern looking text relative to the dial and it’s just not necessary...
I agree. It should be on the movement at best. Not that classic dial.
A lot of companies over do the text with unnecessary additions on the dial
Exactly what I was thinking.
I am obsessed with Breguet but don’t know when I’ll ever be able to afford one. This Frederique Constant however is incredible for the price, I just bought it today!

Not my personal taste in watches BUT the Breguet is a work of art. Beautiful.
I LOVE these videos. and I like that a $20,000 watch is shock resistant. You know, in case you want to play rugby wearing it.
Charles Field watches are dropped all the time and small shocks can affect timing
Greg Mieg shock resistance is also required phor Kuala Lumpur trips phor example.
Hahahahahaha

Err....£20,000.....it’s even more expensive than you thought!
Absolutely fantastic. I love the guilloche patterns on these watches. FC is solid but the Breguet is just unbelievably beautiful.
FC offers some amazing watches. Their World Timer is an amazing piece, for example.
This was great, I'd love to see your take on how Breguet compares to a brand like A. Lange & Sohne
I'd love to see that one as well. For me, and let's admit that this is purely a personal preference, my dream watch is the Lange.
