Long back I came here, the Lord Vishnu looked so majestic and divine... the sculpture had no flaws, just perfect.. Made me want to have a look for few more minutes ....such was the beauty..a must to see... And I told my mom I would visit the god Vishnu again... The only thing was they had so much sindhoor, some old flowers and the water was bit dirty...

And in this mandir only under 16 years old brahmin are allowed to do puja of Lord Vishnu. Because Lord Vishnu himself told this to the farmer. According to past story, there was a farmer who used to work around that place. And used to grow crops in the same spot where Lord Vishnu's statue is today. When farmer cut his all crops the spot where there is a statue of Lord Vishnu today will be always full of crops. One day, farmer went to dig that spot by suspecting. While he was digging that place suddenly blood came out from nowhere. Then he again started to dig that place slowly. After that, Lord Vishnu himself came out alive from that place. And there was a cut in his leg's thumb, from where the blood came out while the farmer was digging. But, nowadays the Brahmin of this mandir says; the cut was in his hand's thumb and index finger where a Lord Vishnu is holding his `Sankhaw' which is still there till this date. If you visit there you will see that cut. And there were 12 Naags on the head of Lord Vishnu. But one day, a king Pratap Malla wanted to visit this unbelievable place and when he tried to enter this mandir one of the Naag came to stop him. It is because Raaj Khandaans are strictly forbidden to enter this place from the beginning which is still mystery, why? But, the king Pratap Malla cursed that Naag in anger by saying " If I can't worship the Lord Vishnu then you can't even worship him anymore. That's why, I cursed you to be a blind ." And after that time that Naag became blind and if you visit that place you will able to see that blinded Naag still under a tree just like a cut in his hand. And after that, that Naag never return to Lord Vishnu. That's why there is a 11 Naags on the head of Lord Vishnu. From that time Lord Vishnu also turned himself into a stone along with that blinded Naag by saying "Kaliyug has arrived". Otherwise, he was alive and angels form heaven also came to worship him. From that day none of the Raaj Khandaans has entered this place and have no courage to enter this place. Not only Raaj Khandaas even my country Nepal's PM and Ministers are afraid to enter this place till this date and may be for life time. I had also visited this place for a one time only. Believe me if you see the statue of that Lord Vishnu in real life it will give you chills even I felt that when I first time saw the statue of Lord Vishnu eventhough it's not that much big . But unfortunately I am unable to see that cut and that stone turned Naag cause I was there only for few minutes. But one day I will go and see that unbelievable things. Actually this place and statue of Lord Vishnu itself is a great mystery till this date. Even scientists don't have answer about that reflection made by Lord Vishnu on the surface of water. Thankyou so much for your information. This is my birthplace Bishnu Budhanilkantha, the temple is just 2 min. near from my home. Every morning and evening we will round the temple, so lucky to have such temple near my birthplace. When you enter the temple you will feel the full pure and peaceful environment from your heart same like heaven. And in this mandir only under 16 years old brahmin are allowed to do puja of Lord Vishnu. Because Lord Vishnu himself told this to the farmer.
According to past story, there was a farmer who used to work around that place. And used to grow crops in the same spot where Lord Vishnu's statue is today. When farmer cut his all crops the spot where there is a statue of Lord Vishnu today will be always full of crops.
One day, farmer went to dig that spot by suspecting. While he was digging that place suddenly blood came out from nowhere. Then he again started to dig that place slowly. After that, Lord Vishnu himself came out alive from that place. And there was a cut in his leg's thumb, from where the blood came out while the farmer was digging. But, nowadays the Brahmin of this mandir says; the cut was in his hand's thumb and index finger where a Lord Vishnu is holding his `Sankhaw' which is still there till this date. If you visit there you will see that cut.
And there were 12 Naags on the head of Lord Vishnu. But one day, a king Pratap Malla wanted to visit this unbelievable place and when he tried to enter this mandir one of the Naag came to stop him. It is because Raaj Khandaans are strictly forbidden to enter this place from the beginning which is still mystery, why? But, the king Pratap Malla cursed that Naag in anger by saying " If I can't worship the Lord Vishnu then you can't even worship him anymore. That's why, I cursed you to be a blind ." And after that time that Naag became blind and if you visit that place you will able to see that blinded Naag still under a tree just like a cut in his hand. And after that, that Naag never return to Lord Vishnu. That's why there is a 11 Naags on the head of Lord Vishnu.
From that time Lord Vishnu also turned himself into a stone along with that blinded Naag by saying "Kaliyug has arrived". Otherwise, he was alive and angels form heaven also came to worship him. From that day none of the Raaj Khandaans has entered this place and have no courage to enter this place. Not only Raaj Khandaas even my country Nepal's PM and Ministers are afraid to enter this place till this date and may be for life time.
I had also visited this place for a one time only. Believe me if you see the statue of that Lord Vishnu in real life it will give you chills even I felt that when I first time saw the statue of Lord Vishnu eventhough it's not that much big . But unfortunately I am unable to see that cut and that stone turned Naag cause I was there only for few minutes. But one day I will go and see that unbelievable things.
Actually this place and statue of Lord Vishnu itself is a great mystery till this date. Even scientists don't have answer about that reflection made by Lord Vishnu on the surface of water.
