I think that this is just the machine the industry needed and it comes in at a very competitive pricepoint. I am not going to knock other machines on the market, but not everyone wants to spend thousands of dollars to have a pen style machine that attempts to mimic coil machine operational characteristics through digital technology. Every style of machine has its purpose and functions differently according to that purposeful design. A coil machine cannot mimic a rotary to exact functionality and vice versa. The problem of how to create a coil machine housed within the comfort of a pen has until now been an enigma. Pen style machines have been all the rave because it has provided relief from machine weight that hung over the wrist; however, it required artist to rethink and retrain themselves because a rotary machine will not tattoo the same way as a coil machine. Sure there are innovations such as the Neuma, and Xion, that offer cams and hit strength adjustments. Then the digital give era comes in with the Sol Nova Unlimited, Flux, A.I. and so on and while it brings yet another level of adjustment, in my opinion, it is like digital reverb it does okay but doesn't authentically replicate an amplifier fitted with an analog spring tank. I am eager to give the Centri a run because I have found that using my coil machine I pull much better lines and contours than I can with my rotary pens. I love my pens for their compactness and lightweightedness, but I still find that my Skinductor coil machine gives me a level of fluidity that I do not get from any of the pens in my son and my collection. I am far from a professional artist and do not have a ton of experience with various machines but can say that I can both see and feel the difference. Thanks for the review brother; you can color me intrigued.
Hello !! I’m interested in this mp5, I’m an old school artist, I’m trying to go from coil to pen, I’m used to the “dime” length stroke , can you tell me what the shortest length you can get the stroke while having a 1-2 mm “poke” out of the needle ??
mate thanks for the review. very nice machine. can you make another video that focus and close up in tattoo needle on how the give works on low/high voltage. high/low needle depth on soft silicone. thanks
Nice video, I've been following Mike's work for a while, he always seems to be innovating. The machine does sound kind of loud? Not sure if it's the audio set up. How does the sound compare to other louder machines such as The Neuma 4? Thanks dude keep up the great work 👍🏻
That’s what keeps me from trying this, it seems AMAZING but the fact you can’t take the grip off and sterilize it or use a disposable or clean the drive bar properly is just like all the other pens on the market being a cross contamination nightmare. Membranes are not good enough, and the entire industry just pretends that it’s ok to wipe something down and call it a day. As professional artists, there’s zero excuse to overlook that. Shame to because it has real give not just a motor slowing down or a compressed spring
Man, every time you wind up that mag drive with the "jumpstart" on that battery pack, a little piece of me dies inside. With all due respect, why would you want to shorten the life/void the warranty on a $700 machine? This machine was made for a standard power supply. Between the jumpstart thing, and the continuous running is gonna kill that thing quick!! Standard power supply, with footswitch set to momentary is the name of the game with mag drive machines.
El Paso,TX tapping in. Thank you for the review. I will definitely buy one of this Centri MP5. I miss my coil machines.
It's definitely smaller than I thought going off the pictures I have seen, really cool !

It's about the same loudness as the Neuma 4
I don't really get how you protect the needle depth dial from cross contamination

I love how the gold standard for any rotary or pen style machine is that it tattoos just like a coil machine lol.
That's how it should be
I've always wondered about centris this guy was making rotaries when everyone was still using coils very ahead of the curb I'm gonna try one
They are amazing machines dude exactly like a coil. You definitely need one.

Me and Mike have been testing newer motors that handle Jumpstart and so far I haven't had any issues yet with the mp5.
is it good for color and shadeing pls thanku
