Your mom with and without make up is a stunning woman. The makeup only enhanced her beauty. Watching how gently you would touch her hair and face, shows the special bond between you both. I lost my Mom this past year, and seeing that relationship reminded me of the many blessings I had for so many years. Cherish it. It doesn't last forever. And thanks for the make up tips.

Your mom looks beautiful. Her features enhanced, not overly made up, just naturally enhanced. I love it.
Nikol, if you ever feel down, go back and look at that split moment your mother looked at you and smiled! It shot through the camera and I felt pure love. She did not look at the camera it was at YOU, no telling what she was thinking or feeling, maybe how proud she was of you, someone you reminded her of, but whatever it was it was beautiful. A lovely woman, very elegant and naturally beautiful.
My own mother used those eyelashes like she mentioned. I was in high school and every morning I would look in her bedroom and see her painstakingly glueing on those individual eyelashes. She had eyebrows like yours (gorgeous) and your forehead but stubby short eyelashes so that was her bling back then!
The day she died she was in recovery after a test she was very ill, my dad was with her. While they waiting on results she made up her face and not long after she passed. Everyone kept telling my dad what a beautiful wife he had. That’s the way she would’ve wanted to go! Nobody will ever be able to convince me that God the Lord does not know our every desire no matter how small but big to us. We are all made in his image and there is nothing wrong with enhancing the beauty he gave us. It’s our hearts that we must keep watch over and stay loving and that makes for an even more beautiful person…just like your mom. ♥️

I totally understand what your Mother is saying about "no color" after she puts her make-up on. Mine is the same way..
So encouraging and refreshing to see a lady in her 70's get a make over. I'm 73 and I can really relate to her.
When your mom smiles, it truly makes her whole face glow. It makes her look 20 years younger! You can tell she was and still is a true beauty !

Thank you! I'm 71 and had no idea people had any interest in making us feel beautiful. I still do not have gray hair! lol My mind same as 40 but when I pass a mirror I have to take a double take and ask, "who is that old lady!" You bring elegance that as we age we can still look elegant!

So cute, her mom says “that’s what we did in the 60’s”. I am shaking my head, yes, I did that too! Same with, “We did this to look like Twiggy”. Kids at school used to make fun of my friends and I that did this. I am the same age as her mom so I enjoyed this video.

There are only a few cultures that value mature women & it's not Americans.

@@laimantong1364 AMEN to that and I don't mean for A MEN, just a way to say "YES to that and thank you!" It can be to lift our own spirits. And for some reason women in most cultures, tho darker complected say, middle eastern or Italian or Asian women may be an exception, but most women benefit from makeup if only in a subtle way. Why do some people (not you) complain, like why do we HAVE to do thus and so (to attract a man?#*^!...) We don't, but we CAN and DO cause it helps us to "put our best face forward" for our own selves. I just look at it as an artist painting a beautiful picture. We don't HAVE to, but we GET to, if we WANT to!

At about the 16:35 minute in the video your sweet mom just gives you the softest, most loving smile. This actually made me cry! I miss my mom! You are so blessed to have her. I’m so happy that you chose shimmer, all you hear is to avoid shimmer when you get older but I personally feel that as you said it makes you look “flat” and it brought her eye colour alive and the lip gloss also looked stunning on her. I love your tutorials on 'how to' for older women! I am replacing one by one my old standbys with your makeup and lots of new techniques. I prefer a no to low makeup look and I am able to achieve that with your wonderful products and especially you showing us all how to do this-- step by step.

A lovely lady who definitely shows how to keep yourself looking brighter with just a little makeup. So natural.
The problem with applying blush on the pad of the cheek when you smile is that as soon as you stop smiling that blush is relocated about half to three quarters of an inch lower, which pulls the entire face down along with the color.
Also, another trick the eye: if you use something like the YSL Touché Eclat in a lighter color than your face in the deep part of those nose to mouth creases and then blend that out and apply a very small amount of a light setting powder, that will “flatten” those deep creases visually making them much less apparent.

Agree with your comment re:her mom's beauty, however women of any age can only enhance their appearance by "gilding the lily"". I jokingly call it "smoke and mirrors". Not that we have to do false lashes for everyday but the basics just lift our spirits and keep us ready to experience all life has to offer rather than falling into that lacidasical "why bother?" complacency which sometimes can lead to isolation and depression. Even if it's only for ourselves (tho wanting to look pretty for a husband or "significant other" is not a bad thing either!). I hope I continue to care about my appearance (I'm a youthful 72) not in a vain narcissistic way but in a way that shows that I'm not going down without a little "push back"!
