Ukrainians in North York celebrate Grand Opening of Summer Camp for Children

The Opening Ceremony of the 1st ever Ukrainian Summer camp in North York for kids
JK to grade 8!
This initiative is organized by the non-registered, non-profit organization "Ukrainians in North York" ( / @ukrainiansinnorthyork . The camp is offering a unique opportunity to
engage in educational and cultural activities while enjoying a fun-filled summer. The camp is run by
parent-volunteers & community members, during 2 weeks of July.
Camp Highlights:
• Cultural Immersion: Dive into Ukrainian culture with traditional crafts, dance, and music.
• Educational Programs: Interactive language lessons, workshops, arts and crafts.
• Recreational Activities: A variety of sports, games, and outdoor activities.
• Community Spirit: Build friendships and learn the value of teamwork and cooperation.

About Ukrainians in North York:
"Ukrainians in North York" is a non-registered, not-for-profit organization that started in February 2022, with the mission to unite and empower the Ukrainian community in North York, forged in solidarity following the war in Ukraine. We aim to foster a sense of belonging, provide support, and facilitate connections among Ukrainians residing in North York. Some of the key events include in-person by-monthly Ukrainian SOCIALS, weekly zoom Q&A (www.neighbourlink.org/qanda), Friday night picnics in summer and skate parties in winter. Ukrainian language classes in partnership with TDSB and Ukrainian dance classes in partnership with DESNA (www.desna.ca/school) are offered to the community during the school year. The goal for summer 2024 is to nurture a strong sense of identity and belonging through educational and recreational activities for kids in the 1st ever Ukrainian Summer Camp in North York.
