Watching this made me realize a possible reason to King Boo looks different in Luigi's Mansion He says that the jewel on his crown enhances his power and it also might be the reason to why he looks like this with the jewel. Not only did it enhance his power it might've enhanced his looks too
So that probably means that King boo probably is stronger due to the Dark moon piece being more powerful than the power jewel back in 2001’s LM. However, there might be no evidence to why King Boo looks so “drunk” in that game. Because he didn’t have his power jewel on him on Sunshine, but in the party games (like star rush), he looks completely normal. My guess is that, King Boo actually looks like how he did in sunshine. Because sunshine includes light, and in the Mario timeline, Boos are weak to light. That is probably why his looks in sunshine are “drunk”. In the Party games, King is only seen inside his (or luigi’s) mansion.

Can we just erase the generic looking king boo from existence. It makes me hella salty how king boo first appeared in Luigi mansion with an actual good look and then every spin-off game he’s been in that isn’t Luigi mansion they’ve gave him a generic looking design I expect him to wear that Luigi mansion design every game he’s in.
In my opinion, King Boo is the most terrifying villain in the Mario franchise. Not only does he look creepy, but his motives are so sinister.
