BUDGIE , thanx to Polish radio DJ from 70-ties Mr. Piotr Kaczkowski, who love this band , Introduced all of us to (me personally in 1975, first one was "Parents") Budgie`s music. Yeah! 1975 and still my top band ever!!! When I came to US in 1985, not one record store in the whole city of Chicago( no offence- "Sad, but true" ... ) recognized the band, vinyl- forget it! Burke Shelley( R.I.P.) always mentioned Poland and how they got FINALLY "more VISIBLE". TRUE! They loved to come to play in Poland, I saw them live in 1982. He even requested to do a medical operation on his ( not sure singing problem few years ago). Only Poland, he said! They were HUGE BAND in Poland and still is! Sadly, there is no more BUDGIE! Personally, they were way better than other famous bands from that era( IT`S ME). Why? I think I know why, but better not to say it! Nobody played in those years like BUDGIE!!! BUT- It`s still better late than never! MY HIGHEST RESPECT FOR AGES NOW!!! The funny thing is , they are getting bigger and bigger! I always kept saying that! " ONE DAY- YOU WILL SEE ...!" Budgie first album is my UNO! Let`s ALL enjoy THEIR TIMELESS MUSIC! Regards, Thomas(Poland-then, Chicago-now, for years); Thanx to Metallica`s BUDGIE cover`s they are much more recognizable these days! And covers made by others, usually pay the bills! The same thing said Mr. Brian Tatler from Diamond Head- thanx to Metallica also! AM I EVIL? ... Bye!

Started with a kid I was in high school with. We were naming bands whose names started with each letter of the alphabet. He pops out with Budgie…i’m like, WTF, dude. That ain’t a band. He sez, yeah, they are. Off to The Penguin Feather Records and Tapes I go and THERE they were. Bought Impeckable. Binged the shit out of it. Went back for Brittania, Bandolier, In for the Kill, and Power Supply. That was all they had. Was able to get the other (earlier) albums eventually. Bought Deliver Is From Evil but it had lost a step IMO. GROSSLY underrated band and I almost NEVER use that cliche…

Ten thousand men are waiting to take the place of you
Much money to be made, they're exchanging point of view
Baby I don't need the action, show me the way to the door
Always a sky high percentage, why do I come back for more
Love is the reason they ain't got no place in with me.
Life is a game of chess boy, you're just another pawn
    Homebreakers claw your heart out
    They hide with curtains drawn
Baby I don't need the action, show me the way to the door
Always a sky high percentage, why do I come back for more
I'm just protesting 'cause people keep messing me round
You keep your eyelids open, don't ever be forlorn
'Cause if the money's coming, your battle chips are down

@jonathanguitar27 because you were not in San Antonio, Texas where KISS FM played most of their music... originally their name was Six Ton Budgie

@IncredibleALC yes, i'm trying to pluck some Budgie albums myself with little luck. Would love to first get their Greatest Hits and work back from there. I'm on Long Island in NY metro area. Any suggestions?

Bandolier was probably their best album .. full of twists and turns to keep you guessing ! I'd start with that . Best of Budgie a good place to visit next ... Parents is a often overlooked classic , not forgetting my favourite ever Budgie track .. " In the grip of a tyre fitters hand " . Awesome ! Saw them live only the once in my home town of Liverpool ... very underatted band .
