I dont know a ton about the 1838 I do know they have a kubota engine. As long as it seems like a tight well maintained machine I think it will serve you well.
Hey Rick our old faithful 1840 just this afternoon has lost drive to both sides... when you operate the forward/reverse leavers it doesn't do anything, doesn't sound like the hydraulics are straining or even trying to drive the motors... any idea's as to what might be causing that? I'm thinking the pumps have lost drive somehow?...
Pull the floor pan up and see if there is hydraulic fluid in the bottom. Sounds to me like you blew then main feed line and or that hydraulic pump went out. Check the fluid level and under the floor pan and let me know. I'll give ya what I know.
