Aaron: “Do I like it? No” Also Aaron: “9 out of 10 for technical ability. Really clever, awesome!” You being able to set aside your personal preferences and review with as much objectivity as you can is why I rock with you.
I love Aaron’s reviews, because he critiques from a professional perfumer point of view. He says if he personally likes or dislikes a perfume, but he judges and rates from a technical and artistic point of view. While with the general reviewers it’s mostly their personal taste.
I always like it when you find something that you don't particularly like but then go into the positive qualities of it and still give it high marks. Thats what I love about your channel. I feel like your the most honest reviewer in the game. I feel like a lot of people only review what they already like so everything on their channel gets a positive review whereas you are more informative and therefore helpful when it comes to making decisions on prospective purchases.
i absolutely love how you review fragrances. it's a breath of fresh air for me hearing a master parfumer review fragrances and give insights as to how the different notes come together in a bottle of fragrance other reviewers would just say "this fragrance is fresh, aquatic, date night...etc" but i love how you name the raw materials and chemicals used and explain in a more easy and understandable way
Always a pleasure watching your review! It's unique and in-depth as you are a perfumer yourself. I love Vetiver and I have Sultan Vetiver for last 2.5 years! My favourite Vetiver scent is Vetiver Nocturne Absolu by Bortnikoff. An incredible Vetiver+Neroli composition!
You are my favorite reviewer...so knowledgeable yet can covey your expertise to a schmuck like me......thanks for taking the time and helping my fragrance journey! Much love bro...
I love vetiver and as I get older I find it suits me more... I as you thought it would be a masculine fragrance but with that honey touch it's intrigued me into trying it. Thanks for the review 😊🦄
Great review. Sultan Vetiver is my favorite vetiver when I want to make a statement, it is a complex and sophisticated beast. I put it in a different class from other vetivers that I like and respect: Roja, TF, Creed, Guerlain, etc. It is so different, and it lasts forever. Love this house.
Fantastic review. Applaud your honestly. I'm a vetiver junkie from Tom Ford Grey Vetiver (clean fresh vetiver) to Encre Noir dark smoky heavy vetiver and everywhere in between. Props to you for trying it and thank you for doing so. All the best.
This is one of the supreme vetiver creations. I just adore Nishane Sultan vetiver, Jorge Lee is outstanding perfumer, his creations for this house are messemerising and addictive, and strong. Nishane and yours Aaron and Nicolai creations are the most longlasting on my skin. You Aaron should create one vetiver. Sultan Vetiver, layered with yours Aaron Adonise,Blood Orange and Ozone intermingle so beautifully together.
"I don't like it" & "I'll give it a 9/10". These two sentences can only be said in the same breath by someone who understands skilled perfumery, while maintaining objectivity. (How many reviewers do this? : I think not many. Thanks for this review).
Needed this video, thanks ATH. I can get a BNIB 50ml for 125$ CAD through someone in my community. Very tempting, just needed a proper perfumers review on it and now I have it! Many thanks.
Great stuff as always Aaron. I love this offering and yes it's a beast on the skin 12+ hours. Projection and sillage is beas as well . Easy on the trigger. Really enjoy Nishane and their price point to me is very affordable especially if you shop around for niche quality fragrance 👍
I absolutely love how you review fragrances fairly. Even the ones that aren't for you Aaron. I appreciate that most of all. You dont get really personal unless it is not done well or not safe. And that is more than fair.... So thank you.
The reason I clicked on this is because I saw the word "vetiver". And I know you aren't a fan of vetiver. Your trepidation makes me laugh. But the fact you still gave it high marks regardless is why I'm a fan. Thanks for the content.
You need to get your hands on Nishane Unutamam. It will blow your mind. Very challenging. IMO: throw back masculine scent with heavy animalics BUT something addictive underneath. You might just love it.
Nishane has a few scents that morph on the skin. B-612 is my favorite nishane. It just works on my skin very well! I would love to hear what you think of nishane b-612
Have you ever tried the house Arabian Oud? They have boutiques in London and I think some of their stuff might be up your alley. I also note the lack of high quality reviews for their products in the community. Your wonderful , honest reviewing style would do them a world of justice.
This one leans more on mature side, i was surprised i liked it, just ordered a bottle of Alpha Man from you today, loved the sample i got of it in past, so it was only right lol its really easy to wear, think ive missed the boat on trying Hard Candy but good luck with that release, sounds really promising!
I love Sultan Vetiver . I am using it over 4 years and I love it. My favorite bolt vetiver fragrance of all time . And vetiver used in this is from Sri Lanka. Nishane’s Owner mentioned it in an interview
A vetiver I think you would like is Vetiver Sensual by Mancera. I am NOT a vetiver fan and this is, shockingly, one of my favorite fragrances for warmer weather.
Hey Aaron 👋 could you keep the community posted on when your large discovery box will come back in stock on your website? Really looking forward to smelling more of your creations.
I’m loving both b-612 and Hacivat from Nishane. B-612 is my favorite. I wish more houses used this concentration because the performance is so welcome and it gives the scents time to show all the different sides of itself. I also really want this Vetiver, and Ani sounds delicious but I should probably diversify my collection little. do you really have to when they are all this good and unique?
I got this one a couple of weeks ago and it really surprised me too. It wasn't what I was expecting at all. I couldn't work out why it was so sweet but the honey makes perfect sense!
Aaron, you need to review Jubilation XXV by Amouage! It’s one of the most complex and adventurous Fragrances I’ve ever smelt. It’s beautiful and rich, yet unique…would love to hear your thoughts
You touched on the way fragrances suit different skin types. Could you please explain further how n why this happens. Also some tips on what fragrances suit those different skin types. I'm an old pale male with dry skin, lol. I'm also wondering how heavily tattooed skin affects fragrances. I'd love to see you do some tutorial type posts on subjects like this. How n why longevity n projection happens, naturals v synthetics, etc. You are so knowledgeable and you explain things so well and I reckon the more we as consumers know, the better choices we can make. It would even see us save a bit of cash, lol. Love ya work mate.
It excites me to hear you speak of fragrances. I almost never love the opening of a vetiver fragrance. It normally gets better for me with the dry down. Neroli the same though I prefer enroll more.
One of the best reviews I've seen from you. It conveyed the magic/alchemy of perfumery very well and even though I can't abide the smell of honey.... You almost made me want a bottle!
Hi aaron, you said longetivity and projection is very difficult to achieve. But the perfume i suggested in many comments "Orto Parisi Megamare" is considered nuclear in both departments. Please take a look, its like 3rd or 4th time im posting this. Its from a niche house that make nuclear frags
Thanks for this review, Aaron! I absolutely love this House, and SV is my favorite vetiver in my collection. I appreciate hearing your perspective on it very much! P.S… I can’t wait to buy Hard Candy when it’s released… I’m checking every day! Take care my friend.
I had some good offers on Nishane and i was deciding between this and Hacivat and i finally decided on Hacivat, but this one is interesting too. I would suggest you to try Nefs from Nishane, i think its their best perfume but it is more appropriate for winter
one of my favs... the first time I smelled this it reminded me of entering the grand entrance of VERY posh hotel in the tropics - very clean, and you can smell the greenery and earthy vetiver, which is sweet and amazing. I luv it. But fragrance is subjective.. thats just what comes to my mind.
I'm happy to see your honest review of Sultan Vetiver. I like Vetiver, but I understand that many people don't like it 😉 This one is my absolute favourite, I love the sweet honey note and that it is not that harshly maskulin. Until today the best Vetiver fragrance to my nose 👃👌🏼
Now this is my idea of a good review. Even though A doesn’t like it, he can still credit it for being amazing. I liken it to music - for example I never liked Take That, but I couldn’t deny Gary Barlow is an amazing songwriter. So kudos to being able to give such credit to something you don’t actually like yourself 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great review as always ATH. Can you please review Nishane's Wu Long Cha? This fragrance is pushing Silver mountain water as my favourite Tea fragrance ever. in the Australian heat + humidity the longevity is unparalleled.
Have this, it's beautiful, for the Turkish/Levant bearded or 5 o clock shadowed man wearing a dark outfit in the cold of Northern Europe with extreme confidence
Hey Harvey, I also tried Grey Vetiver and I really like it. I heard about Sultan Vetiver but there's nowhere I can try that. Which one do you prefer between these two?
@@Slimbk13 two VERY different fragrances (I own both). Grey Vetiver is inoffensive, Sultan Vetiver is a heavy / robust niche fragrance, very unique imo. You kinda love it or hate it
Do you ever make a perfume without any top-notes? It seems like more perfumers could/should, but perhaps don't because that initial spray is what sells the perfume when testing.
Do you know by any chance which vetiver is used in chantecaille vetiver? I fell in love with this perfume. It is so clean and fresh. But as you said I then decided to explore more vetiver perfumes and was quite underwhelmed
This sounds like a really interesting vetiver. Really want to try Guapo from Maxaroma but its either never in stock or it sells out instantly. Is any more santal extreme coming to Maxaroma?
@@AaronTerenceHughes thank you! I just got a 10ml of the new santal. I wanted to get a full bottle its so good. I just wasnt sure if there was still some heading to the US still. ❤️
It's a warmer fragrance but has a dirty side to it I think it might be something you would like it has that fruity bright but dirty that punches you right in the face as you would like to say if you would like me to get you a sample I could get you a sample and send it to you

I just left a comment and saw you basically said the sane thing as me before I even said it lol... so I had to give your comment some ❤️
Thank you
I also like that he doesn't waste his time reviewing the packaging, cap, etc. That's just a waste of time imo. He's definitely one of my favorites
"Alchemy in a bottle". Fascinating review.
You're the only reviewer I trust for real reviews! always amazing!
