I bought the Soul 2012 on March, the base model ,and for me and my 2 kid 4 yr and 2 yrs is excellent, plus 4 12" subwoofer in the back, is amazing. I recommend 100%
100k powertrain, 60k bump/bump. Hands free bluetooth to dial through your radio and music screaming with no wires! 6 airbags, traction control button to help if you swerve, economy button to help with gas and it recognizes your driving pattern to help you save. The higher packages are for ridiculous things, ugly interior changes, rearview mirror sensors - I paid 15,500 for a 2013 this month. Well worth it.
There's plenty of headroom (see angled up roof as it meets the front of the car), but not as much luggage space because of the high base (18" wheels, etc). The Honda Fit's base (due to smaller wheels?) is noticeably lower and thus has more cargo space for a car the same size. I test rode both and bought the Soul.
Just bought this car had a 2002 ford escape. I'm a six foot tall female and have more room in the front than I did in my ford escape. The back, sure you won't have a ton of leg room if the person in front of you jams the seat all the way back but that's not necessary under most circumstances. He didn't bother going into all the bells and whistles that are included in the base model which is crazy. I paid 15,500 - not 23k, for a 2013. What you get for that price is plenty. Crazy road side assist
I work from home so my mileage isn't crazy.I have 80k. The bulk of those are highway miles. I know two other people that have them and one is well over 130k.
I'm really a fan of the Kia Soul. I think it's weird that its competitors from Scion and Nissan don't even come near the number of upscale features the Kia has.
I'm interested in what Kia will do for the second gen. Soul. It would be great if they used the 1.8 from the Elantra as the base engine and turbo 1.6 from the Veloster as a premium offering. If Kia is still playing around with the idea of bringing a diesel over to the states, Soul would be a great start.
Can you guys please update your BUY IT, LEASE IT, RENT IT, or SELL IT animation. Everything else has been updated but you guys still have the same slow boring transition for it. Keep up the good work!
Actually the Sportage equal to the Soul ! in features costs quite a large sum more than the Soul as the Soul ! with leather comes in around $23,750 where as the Sportage SX 2WD comes in around $30,900.
the condensed version of the review : it is a good car , for the price . if you can spare more money , there are better alternative . which , I think , is the entire purpose for its existence .
I tried to lease one of these. The dealer based the lease payment on $5000 over msrp and the payment was over $400 per month. When I switched gears and offered to buy it the dealer insisted on $1000 over. Needles to say, I walked out. Would up at Acura for $50 less per month, and a much better car.
Worst review I have ever watched. At first he states not much headroom-"not that big inside", then later states, lots of head room. Lease? he advises young people to lease? Wow. I think he started this business just so he can have free cars to drive, without having to purchase one. Cool intro with good intro music then down hill from there.
You had asked me as well but can't find your comment. I've had it for 7 years now and haven't had any problems. I didn't replace any brakes until I had 60k miles, my tires lasted 4 years, the car has held up extremely well. No repairs. My husband has a Jeep Patriot and we've had to take my kia to get 60 inch TV's because it wouldn't fit in his 🤣 Get a turbo though if you like pick up. I miss my six cyl.
@New York native I guess originally it had 90,000 when it got in a wreck and I believe they put a new engine in it because when I got it it had 9000 and now I'm up to 33,000 if that tells you anything LOL

This is going to be my first car :)
Nathan sure knows how to make these videos fun.

@New York native Excellent. No mechanical problems... just the steering damper and a minor electrical issue.
this is a way better review than the previous ones

Got the 2013 + version for $17,250 w/ audio upgrade & remote start. It's my wife's commuter car. Good for that purpose.
Has Nathan or roman ever hit the camera when doing these drifts?
Between this and the Honda Fit, which would you recommend as auto journalists?

Is it really necessary to do the emergency brake slides?

It rides well. Some road noise, some shake, but not too shabby.

Considering this car is for younger people, what do you expect them to be doing?
Fun review - nice job.

Better ...sure but not by much 😀
I like how the ad for this video was for an Audi
Why would you give a review and not mention one word about mpg?
Is it 4x4?
My wife has the ! and she loves it.
10 year, 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty - 5 year 60,000 bumper to bumper
Fully loaded under $16k whats not to like?
i drive one to deliver produce in has the 6 speed damn thing is gutless even when empty
Or.....maybe if Kelsey Mays did more e-brake slides his videos would be more interesting?
No talk about ride quality?
No, only if you get the audio package
What about the sportage? It looks sharper that this, cost about the same too
2013 PT Cruiser
Everytime I see one of these cars on the hwy I'm trying to pass them because there's always some old geezer behind the wheel of one.
Yes.
What the heck happened to the 0 to 60 ??
and the 0-60 test...??? what 56 sec?
The Honda Fit. It's more utilitarian, better quality (only just) and has Honda power which is a proven powertrain.
Ha! That's one I've been thinking about!
Because - it's - fun.
