How fun was that!!! You have the best stories. When my sister and I get together and have a chance to reminisce we have some favorite moments that we remember. I probably should write them down. It won’t mean much to others maybe but then maybe someone will at least get a laugh out of the goofy things we did as kids (when we weren’t aggravating each other, LOL)
Happy Birthday Dar. I must say i do not remember mars apple sandwiches, I do remember Grandma serving us crab sandwiches from a can though. I would not touch it and was told i could not go to the pool til i was done. i never made it to the pool that day.
Your Mom was a great cook. I too have great memories of growing up in Ireland eating my dulse (I loved it) and also the the 99 ice cream cones, yum. You just made my mouth water 🤣🤣🤣
Hello, Fondest memories are the best! Our red lobster here is no more. It became a Pizza Hut. I love chocolate especially from Europe. Thank you for sharing 🙏😄 Have a wonderful Saturday night and Sunday 😄

Good morning Darlene! Thanks for sharing some of your wonderful memories growing up. You tell such great stories. Hope you have a good weekend. Hugs 🤗🤗
I don't think many people hang mistletoe now. I know you did not mention that, it is just from my own observation. I had never eaten corn on the cob till coming to Canada, it was just never on our menu. As far as Christmas gifts went. a flashlight (torch) in my stocking always made me happy. Once or twice I got a pair of roller skates (street skates) loved them. I do remember the 99 ice cream cone... I was not aware you could not buy them in Canada. except at a British store. Thanks for the memories. tra la la la 😊
Hi Darlene and sweet family! I’m glad you got a good nights rest. You are so right at Christmas we had an apple and an orange or mandarin with some nuts that were in the shell. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas my grandmother would ask us what was our favorite dessert and she would make it. Of course she rotated to make sure everyone got to have their favorite dessert. I always asked for her apple cake, it was my favorite. My father didn’t like chicken because every Sunday it was always chicken he said. I remember going on vacation when I was young and stopping at A&W drive in where they came to your car and took your order and that was the first hamburger I ever had. Kids now thinks McDonalds is the best, yuck, not me. Thanks for taking us down memory lane, it was fun. I hope everyone has a very blessed weekend!
