Your information is incomplete because nowadays all mobiles have the capacity to run laptop hard disk or portable hard disk directly through OTG cable. You are talking about 10 years old mobiles from today which are not able to drive laptop hard disk due to low current. Can do and secondly, there is no need for computer power supply, nowadays USB SATA cable is so capable in itself that you can run a desktop hard disk with a 12 volt 2 amp adapter.

Yes.I tried same thing with my old tablet and hdd is trying to spin but it cant power the head and the platter motor at same time and it just doesn't work

Sur Amazon il existe des adaptateurs USB / Sata (HDD 2.5) ou USB / IDE pour connecter des DD Sata ou IDE sur un mobile ou un PC. Il ne faut pas attendre un transfert rapide !!!!!! Mais c'est une bonne solution et pas trop onéreuse pour faire du stockage de données.

Not all small hdd run on mobile mostly hdd require 750 mA all mobiles not give sufficient power

That’s why I use Samsung T7 SSD. It doesn’t require external power or adapter, just simply plug both ends of usb c cable, even to a phone or laptop

A simple otg cable allows you to connect hdd to phone. I do it all the time
