WRAP Fire White River Junction Vermont

This fire in February 2005, destroyed a block of downtown White River Junction, nearly taking the Polka Dot Restaurant with it, but it was saved. The fire was caused by spontaneous combustion of solvent soaked rags improperly stashed in the WRAP (White River Amusement Pub), a strip bar. after the bar itself had been stripped for re-sealing due to it's propensity to grip and remove stripper's shoes. The Main Street Museum in WRJ has artifacts from the adjacent stripper clothing store that also burned.

Mary (Strobel) Shatney, who just passed away a week ago, owned and operated this Landmark for about 53 years.
