I have not been concerned about reviews at all. I figure they will come as a natural part of book sales over time. I've given out a few free books to friends and asked for reviews but none of them have done it. I'd rather spend my efforts on researching niches and book cover design, running ads, etc. I am working with $100 a month ad budget. It's kind of fun to try and work the ads and track the results, test the books. It's like a video game it in that way. A contest to see if I can make a profit for the month. So far this month, my royalties are $20 behind my ad expense.
I’ve always wondered what the consistent path to $1000+ on KDP looks like, and you’ve laid it out so clearly here! It’s super encouraging to see it’s achievable with the right focus. Can't wait to apply these tips myself!
Hey Chris ... thank you for another great honest video on this business! Can you please do another video for rating book covers like you did a month ago? Really enjoyed that one - it was helpful to see comparisons!!! Thanks again and take care!
Another great video and I really like the format of this one Chris. Interesting to hear about educated advertising spend. I think that's a good way of thinking of it and adopting a more hybrid approach rather than a one-size-fits-all.
Thanks for the video. Nicely done. I agreed with everything you said. I'm trying to control my ad spend and cut off books that don't pass the test. I"m seeing sales on 9 books out of a total of 36 books published, though only two books are selling well above the rest. I just started in March, so I've been at it for only 6 months. My covers and research and marketing will continue to get better. My main frustration is going a day or two without any sales at all. Sales trickle in at a slow drip. Patience and perseverance are necessary. It ain't easy.
Hi Chris , I'm taking notes from yr videos, thanks fr sharing some good tips . As a beginner I had question with regards to when you publish a book n if you have taken into consideration used correct keywords n description, without ads where does a book feature once published is it in the first few pages or its random ? I.e can be anywhere? The number of books is within 1000 in that niche . Hope hear from you.
No. Some people are wildly successful with social media, most aren't and it's nowhere near as easy as it's made out to be. Still plenty of organic traffic from Amazon
When do we run ads? I heard that we need to give our books at least a month to see if they generate organic sales, if not then ads are not worth it. Is this a good strat?
More books is the only way in my opinion. I have some low budget strategies in the membership. But you could focus on making more books and placing them into a 'lottery' campaign
@@ChrisRaydog I run lottery campaigns, in short bursts. They are fun to do, to track the books and see if anything hits. However, they can be expensive if you run a lot of books in a campaign. If you run 20 books in a campaign, you might get 50 clicks spread out over the list which really doesn't tell you much. The average on Amazon (I've been told by UA-camr's, don't know if it's true) is one sale out of ten clicks. You won't know if a book is a dud until you get at least 10 clicks on it. Running a lottery campaign with more than a hand full of books can get costly, to acquire ten clicks on any one book. I try to keep my lottery campaigns down to four books or so, and they all have something in common, a similar niche.

Finally someone talking about using tools and reviews that you DON’T really need them… coming from someone who is just starting with minimal budget 💪🏼

@@aikenpublishing thank you. I’ll try to follow $100 ad budget for my book too and hope it will be fruitful.

I genuinely appreciate this video, I've quit on kdp a while back because of the exaggerated videos and getting back to it thanks to you.

I truly agree with you, crazy the amount of content of saying you can make a million dollars just for clicks is very misleading.
Came for KDP tips'n'tricks, stayed for the humor. Oops I mean humour.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Chris ❤
make sense.
Thanks Chris.

Do you need to do social media marketing for this?

@@moynulaminamin9106 pretty much just that now yeah, but I've published all sorts in the passed

I run ads from day 1 - but again, all depends on book quality
I launched 5 books in April with no advertising, 0 sales! How can you make a sale with no Ads?
Also, do you have a video about cost effective Ads?

How do you advertise a swear words coloring book? Last time I tried something like this they told me it's not allowed.
No swear words in title/subtitle and front cover and probably need to make sure the images are appropriate too
@@ChrisRaydog interesting, I thought it was more a matter of content :) thanks!
I grinds my behind when they show a NON KDP author as their example..
0.15 cpc
