Another one you dont see every day! Heres 5minutes of Jagdpanther's 23 litre V-12 Maybach HL 230 engine sound just for you as it prepares to go to sleep in his shed after a whole morning of looking pretty for the Members Open day at The Weald Foundation!
The Jagdpanther has to be my favorite next to the Panther it's self.(or the Tiger, it depends what mood I'm in). IT IS SUCH A BEAST!! I am SO HAPPY that people have restored these vehicles and they will be around for future generations to marvel at. And you were SO LUCKY to see one that close. You are one lucky lady!!
Beautiful and extremely well restored Jagdpanther! The only question is that why the engine is running at minimum rpm? I have the impression that it is not running smoothly, almost making a knocking noise...
@@EngiNetion it could be but personally I find it wrong because the Maybach HL230 P30 had around 700 hp at 3,000 rpm but it had been installed a governor to limit the rpm around 2,500 lowering the horsepower to 600 this in order to save the engine. That said the engine has a minimum around 700 rpm but generally it is good to keep the a bit "happy" so it runs smoothly and avoid fouling the spark plugs as it tends to be gummed with sooth because of low quality gasoline. I know because a mechanic told me that many engines of old Ferrari's were ruined because the owners was scared to mistreat those engines not understanding that they were equally mistreating in the wrong way so the engines had to be overhauled....
No shifting at all, it's in first gear the whole time. And he's keeping the revs at just above idle, probably to keep the loads at an absolute minimum. You don't get replacement parts for either the Maybach or the transmission...
That sound struck fear in the hearts of Allied fighting men during WWII because one did not know it one did not see it if it was a Tiger, Panther or Jagdpanther. I can remember being on bivouac in the US Army and hearing tanks and apc's at night but not being able to see them. Was scary to say the least!
Rita for starters hello from Raleigh, North Carolina and second there is a wonderful tank museum in Danville Virginia called the AAF tank museum they have a bunch of less common tanks there that you can go inside like the m1917 light tank or the a panzer iv that survived golan heights and they even have special offers to drive some tanks it's really worth the trip and love your videos keep up the great work
Yk whats kinda sad? Is that at 1:25 where the Jagdpanther turns around to face pieces, particularly the upper front plate of another Jagdpanther is sad, its like looking at a dead brother, so sad.. But the video for the rest is nice, I love the Maybach engine sound so much
Those Maybach HL230’s always seemed be running “best” when at low idle RPM’s they always seemed to sound as if they were about to almost STOP running...;) Considering the time period & technological capabilities-(under war stress/conditions)-the rather “small” size to final torque/HP numbers & output of the Maybach motors is nothing short of amazing... Fuel Infection/turbo/SuperCharging in those HL230 motors wouldve been a game changer as to HorsePower/torque output, from 700HP-(governed from 750)- to at least 900-950 or even higher with tweaking by the enginerding teams...
If anyone rich is watching this. I would love to have any type of tank. The gun doesn't have to be functioning. I would just like to run over crap and put it through its paces. I really love tanks. Thanks Rita
If you want to turn your Panther around, just hit the gas and turn it. ua-cam.com/video/B4kO7KfjmeM/v-deo.html They always the let the engine suffer by letting it fight against the clutch and the transmission at low RPM. You can literally hear it. The Maybach HL 230 don't like to idle, give it a little gas. Unlike other tank engines it was built to operate better at higher rpms. Are there reasons why they do it like that??? 2:50
Man the Guy driving the Panther in your link knows how to drive a tank! Excellent. He is a real tank driver, not some pussyfoot Guy from the museum staff.
Plenty of torque to make turns at idle, but it doesn't sound anything like a V12 at very low rpm. It must be those flame damper things (if that's what they are for) fitted to the exhausts. It actually sounds like a single cylinder Lister (Close your eyes and listen without knowing it's the best looking AFV ever). Edit: It sounds way better here: ua-cam.com/video/k5mC0shR9MI/v-deo.html 🙂 And another one without the exhaust ''buckets'': ua-cam.com/video/GrHyv-FBElk/v-deo.html
Great sound, I love It. Too bad that the driver does not let the engine do its job and A refresher lesson in vehicle guiding would not be an unnecessary luxury.
These asthmatic old gassers could barely move these things. Just wheezing and sputtering. Once they put diesels in them things seemed to improve greatly. Plus the diesels could go more than 50 feet without a fill-up. Lmao
That driver will kill that high specified,(for its generation )engine ,with lugging, slow running. How the overhead cam gear is achieving adequate lubrication at those revolutions,I do not know.If an engine requires a major bearing job don’t keep running it.You are only compounding your problems.
Another one you dont see every day!

so much awesome!
Awesome video Rita! Keep up the great work and posting videos.
Too bad we didn't get to see our Beautiful Tank Girl in this one. You gotta get in the frame with the tanks Rita!
How the HELL have I not found this channel sooner!! WOW!!
Good morning and welcome! Thank you so much for watching love!
I know, just found it too.
Damn that's a beautiful sound. Wish they would have revved it up though so we could hear the big cat roar and ot just purr

That exhaust sounds nice. wish my ford focus sounded like that.
If it did you'd probably have to replace a muffler^^
@@lavrentivs9891 lol!
Everyone would be driving Fords! ahah
@@RitaGamer LOL! totally. I would probably need to get a second job just to buy gas for it also. thanks for sharing.
@@JesusJimenez-be5kn No worries! Thank YOU for watching!
My favourite tank from WW II.
That engine noise is impressive
Jagdpanther is freakin AWESOME..SUCH A BEAUTIFUL BEAST...my alltime favourite AFV....
What a big beautiful beast. Singing the Panzerlied in bass.
Tanks, planes, ships, best experience is to see these beautiful machines operate in person
Just wonderful. How did I miss this for years? Too busy concentrating on Tiger 131, that's how.
I'm a carguy and huge history and ww2 tanks fan and this is one of the best engine sounds i have ever heard ❤️🔥
Beautiful and extremely well restored Jagdpanther! The only question is that why the engine is running at minimum rpm? I have the impression that it is not running smoothly, almost making a knocking noise...
maybe they don't want to force it much since you can't get replacement parts now

Short shifting at its best-The lowest idle contest has a winner.

Salute to the dudes who preserved this gem, cheers!
Felt that rumble in my spine, WOW
purrr of this big cat is amazing
Altamente, embora o meu preferido seja o StuG III Ausf. D. Grandes videos keep on the good work

Masterpiece :)
1:28 Is that another JgdPanther frontal hull in the background? Are The Weald guys working on a second peice?? :O
Yes, the Weald Foundation is working on a second Jagdpanther. Big project that will take quite awhile
I want that as a ring tone.

Seem to be a few spare Jagdpanther bits lying around in the background.
You can hear the petrol disappearing every second XD

The engine's knocking, why is no one answering the door?
Is it the "flammenfresser" exhaust pipes that makes it sound like a sick cat? (besides low rpm's)
Flammenlöscher. 😉
The engine sounds like the school bus I get used to ride when I was little!
Atleast one thing WoT gets right is the sounds, in war thunder this thing sounds like a dying elephant
"Come touch my metal machiiiiine!!"
Stop staring at that Panther's behind :-)
That is one Badass looking thing. Germany needed more of them
Love that sound of the old war lady :-)
Das ist der seltsamste HL23 Klang den ich je gehört habe. 😂
Is this the AMG version???
Maybach version
If you want to turn your Panther around, just hit the gas and turn it.

i need this machine to visit my mother in law, just a friendly visit 😶💢💯
Wargaming should watch this video lol
The diver is tormenting the maybach at low rounds. Whaz is that ???

Sometimes I wonder if the german's were more concerned about making cool looking vehicles then practical once.
Idle it a little lower so you can completely starve the engine of oil pressure
Better than some lamborghinis man
I don't know but it doesn't sound like the engine is running smoothly.
It was struggling a little bit but only broke down once on that day and came back up and back to its shed.
*_Зачем, он под пушкой идёт, а если стрельнут?_* 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😎😊
WWII allied vets cringe when they hear the sound of that engine. Had to have been very scary and surreal on the front with that coming at you.
Omg im in love
Im tankgay
sounds like a steam engine
I do not think it is running on all cylinders.
WHY IS IT THAT FUCKING BIG
No tight tops. 😫
Turretless this time!
ugh almost stalling engine so many times.
Notoriously unreliable engine, and no way of getting spare parts for a 70 YO maybach tank engine. They ran minimum revs I assume to minimize fatigue
Der läuft ja wie ein Sack Nüsse. 😬
dat ass
Wake the old girl up, she's got to show off

ugh it sounds so bad man, maybe u guys should check on the engine that knocking shouldnt be there
