Julie I want to tell you something. those 4 dated canisters. Your not going to believe this. My Mom used to use that those same canaster set in her home. Yes I can't thank you enough for this amazing idea of yours. Yes I am going to try to remake what you have done. I am also going to get those stamps and see if I can do it.. For some strange reason I couldn't let them go. And for sure my Mom in Heaven is going to be so proud of me for what you have taught me to do. I can't thank you enough.
If you spray painted I have the Rust-Oleum 1 and 2 primer plus paint I use that to spray my glass and let it dry and then I go and do the baking soda technique and it turns out perfect it sticks to it you can varnish it you can paint it another color and it looks really great I've done it a lot you can do it Julie you do a lot of stuff so you can do that I know you can
“I’ve never done this before but I’m confident I can do it.” Most important words an artisan/crafter can say. Those are empowering words and we should all share this mindset. Thanks for your videos!
The French Country look you gave those canisters is so amazing. I can understand why you kept them for your own home decor!!!! The pitchers are so beautiful, and the texture came thru nicely. Great job👏👏👏👏👏
You used your face! Too funny! They all turned out great. I used the caulk paint and baking soda on a bird, now it looks like concrete. So cleaver. I will be using this technique again! Thank you for all the ideas! Your baby is beautiful!
I love them, too, Julie. I have stamped, and always use ink. What you do is, take the ink pad and tap it on the stamp, as opposed to taking the stamp and tapping it on the ink pad. It works so much easier. I love all your projects. I just tried the baking soda, paint idea, and love it also. I am praying for Louisiana, and your baby is adorable....
I am new to your channel, just a couple of weeks now and I have been going back and watching your older videos. I really enjoy watching you and listening to you talk. In this video with the stamps on the crocs I really love your "face technique", gave me a tickle when I seen and heard you say "I used my face". I loved it! All these pieces turned out beautiful. I found your channel by watching Ginger Chick Rehab Decor channel. If you haven't watched her, you should, Yvonne and her husband Chris do beautiful work, and it is right up your alley.
Hey Gal Just wanted to let you know you are rocking these Thrift to Treasures!...l too am a South Louisiana gal, born and raised in Gibson and spent most of my adult years in Chackbay Now l am in Pecan Island about 60 miles East of Cameron, so we were definitely in the storms ( Laura) path. We were extremely lucky to have gotten by with minimal damage of tree branches scattered throughout the yard, our chicken coup, is a lil off kilter and we were without power and water for a couple days. Love your ability to turn such ugly things into something beautiful, and make money off of it. Hope to see lots more of your Thrift to Treasure videos!❤️❤️❤️
I've been binge watching your channel. You have such creative ideas and see potential most folks would miss. My brother-in-law is from Hammond. I knew you were from south LA ❤ before you ever said. I'm so excited to watch your channel grow. Blessings to you
I have just started flipping some diys and it has definitely been a learning curve. I LOVED seeing you press the stamp down with your face!! It made me laugh and I can definitely relate!
Love all these ideas! I love how you show even the parts when it doesn’t work out. Because let’s face it, sometime its a trial and error! Thanks so much for the inspiration!!
I love the pitchers and crocks! Thank you so much for the sweet shout out for the people in Lake Charles! Lake Charles is my home town and all 4 of my sisters and the rest of my family live there. Absolutely the most devastating storm I’ve ever seen hit there.
Oh awesome, so glad you are enjoying the videos. You kids are definitely an inspiration to me. I really enjoy watching their journey. Hoping I can scale my business like they did.
The canisters turned out awesome. I've used stamps for years with acrylic paints on canvas. I use a medium to thin the paint to an inky constancy. A medium thins without watering down the paint. Perhaps chalk paint can be thinned also. If you can thin it down and add a layer of paint to wax paper, (in essence making a stamp pad),press the stamp on the paper then the object. This might produce the effect you are looking for.
I totally love what you did with all these pieces! Initially, I was a bit concerned about the nativity scenes, as I collect these. However, when they were finished I wanted to buy them for my collection - but I was too late! So disappointed! Well done. I learn so much from your videos. They are authentic and easy to follow. All the best. Keep safe. Warmest Regards from Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. xo
FYI - Jami & Zebulon use a brayer to put paint on their stamps and it distributes the paint more evenly and accurately. I think they have also used ink. Wish I could recommend which video of theirs but they've done it many times at the end of a Saturday Thrift Haul I think. Love those canisters as well and would keep them. Loving your channel.
Julie I am so glad I found your channel! The canisters were so incredible from the transformation! We also live in a hurricane track on the East Coast. Not fun when you have to prepare for one after the other till the season is over.
Super cute! I have been stamping crocks too and had laugh! I had the same problems, using my face too! I found that ink is better, but still is hard to stamp on the curve. I finally tried rolling my crock over the stamp that I laid on the table. That was the ticket! Also the iPod crackle stamp gives them a wonderful crazing look. I am loving your channel!
Great video. My favorites are the canisters. I have those stamps so I am anxious to find some canisters to transform. Also can't wait to try the baking soda trick. You never disappoint!
Love the canisters and the pictures! All were pretty!! Ty for sharing!! I was sooo sorry for all the people who were affected by the hurricane! It was so bad! I’m glad you faired well with no major damage!
They turned out awesome the ink pads I'm praying that you got stays on or something permanent that will work best for your stamps and as far as the mixture with the paint can baking soda I used a little round brush and tapped it on to get my texture and they turned out really good so just some little tips if you interested thank you for your shows I enjoyed them have a great weekend God bless
Just found your channel a few days ago, love it , I’ve gone back & watched many of your videos. The canisters & pitchers were my favorite but I loved the nativity scenes also.
I am new to your channel and love everything that you do. I am a seller or repurposed/refreshened decor items & furniture and you have given me some new ideas and our tastes are so similar. I love that you don't have a fancy stencil machine as I don't either and have been using good old carbon paper as well as reverse transfers on wax paper. Today we are experiencing some of the effects from a hurricane - category 2 in Nova Scotia, Canada. Thankfully it is not too bad. Looking forward to watching many more of your videos. Thanks for posting.
I am a stamper and there a ink pad name “StazOn “ it’s for every surface . It will stay on metal and all kind of material. You will need to buy the StazOn stamp cleaner to clean your stamps . And it’s comes out great . It comes in all kind of color . It don’t come off when it’s dry . There are lots of you tube info on it . You can get it at most crafts store .
I cant pick a favorite. They are all great! I will have to try the baking soda. I just used my IOD knob stamps for the first time. They are great and would have been better if i hadn't had the stamper upside down. I'll learn one day to watch ALL of the video😂been praying for Lake Charles. We passed through a few times going to Houston.
Usually what is used for ink block printing is a rubber roller and special ink in a tube. You can buy it in an art supply store. It’s rolled over the block or stamp, then the stamp or block is rolled with a clean roller to make the print. I am an art teacher. You could try that process for your stamping, it will give you cleaner edges.
I love them all so I can't pick a favorite you are very talented ❤❤. Thank goodness you were spared from the hurricane. I can't wait for your next diy.
Just stumbled on to your video and knew right away you were from Louisiana. I have direct connections to southern Louisiana as that is where my husband is from. I love your flips and plan to try my hand at it. By the way, my husband is from Morgan City in St Mary Parrish. I have a niece in Boussier City. Your accent is just like hers. Good luck with the hurricane.
Nice projects and outcomes! ~ I happen to think, if anyone wants to try doing the distressed look with statues like you did, it might be helpful to take a picture of them first. This way you know where certain colors are that you may want to highlight. ~ I hope that helps! :)
I am new to your channel. I LOVE that you painted crockery! I never thought of doing that. Off to the thrift store to try this now!! Thank you for the inspiration!!
Loved all your projects. I am a new subscriber and have been binge watching your videos. You have such a great imagination when it comes to thinking outside the box when purchasing. I wish I lived close to you so I could buy so many of your creations. You have them so reasonably priced. Praying for a safe hurricane season for you guys. Stay safe and God Bless!
Thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed watching. We just had another close call with Hurricane Sally but that one ended up turning away from us as well but that means everyone around us is getting hit.
Hi again, I just bought these stamps as well and ink is one thing to use but you can also use paint but rolling it on the stamp with a small amount of paint works best. I have also seen a video to use the stamps as a mold, pressing it into modelling clay and then adding to jar, etc. I am in love with these stamps and plan to experiment today. Love your projects.
I love the canisters. I have considered ordering the crockery stamps. You can use paint with the stamps. You just need a brayer. Looking forward to more videos.
I use the baking so there and latex paint for all of my crafts and had no problem with it not sticking if you do have that problem coat it with a layer of mod podge 1st then use your new mixture
I just found your channel and subscribed! I'm glad my name sake hurricane didn't do any major damage by you! I look forward to watching more of your videos.
I appreciate your love of a clean white paint and I really like how you upcycled these wares, I will admit, I have a kitschy side to me and liked the pitchers the way they were, I love color, but also really liked what you did with them. I will be a new subscriber, looking forward to more!
Ok....I just ordered this crockery stamp set from IOD Sisters through the link you provided....(I hope they give you credit or a discount or something). I first saw you use them on the tea towels or stockings your cousin made (in red) and loved them instantly. I wouldn’t hate seeing you use them in other thrift flips. Just sayin....Hurricanes are no joke. I grew up on Cape Cod in New England, been thru a few. Powerful, scary, yet majestic. Lake Charles did get hit hard, It’s sad how the news quickly forgets about these devastating events after a couple of days. Here’s to a better 2021. 🙏🏻
Julie, Wish I could share my end products with you. You have inspired me, so much. I've overcome my silly fears of failure and I am so confident. P.S. I have already, sold 1 of my items, before I even listed them, for sale. ❤️

Thanks, it's not often I have a fail so I'm totally willing to try anything and sometimes mistakes lead to new ideas!
Loved the vase remakes.
I love love love the stamped jars. And you cracked me up using your face!

Love the canisters and vase. Glad you weren’t affected much by the storm. God bless and thanks for your inspiration ❤️
I love it when you make mistakes!!!! It stops me from doing the same thing!!! You go girl, you rock!!!
You used your face! Too funny! They all turned out great. I used the caulk paint and baking soda on a bird, now it looks like concrete. So cleaver. I will be using this technique again! Thank you for all the ideas! Your baby is beautiful!

Your projects but love canisters /stencils and pitcher texture
I am new to your channel. I LOVE that you painted crockery! I never thought of doing that. Off to the thrift store to try this now!! Thank you for the inspiration!!

I love the canisters. I have considered ordering the crockery stamps. You can use paint with the stamps. You just need a brayer. Looking forward to more videos.
I'm in love with stamps now but I want to design my own. I can't find what I have in my head
I use the baking so there and latex paint for all of my crafts and had no problem with it not sticking if you do have that problem coat it with a layer of mod podge 1st then use your new mixture
Once I finished off that container I just mixed with chalk paint. I'm loving this look so much. I want to paint everything with it
I just found your channel and subscribed! I'm glad my name sake hurricane didn't do any major damage by you! I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Lol
Yes, I have used the crockery stamps on lots of videos. I don't get a kick back but they should totally send me some free stamps 😉
Julie, Wish I could share my end products with you. You have inspired me, so much. I've overcome my silly fears of failure and I am so confident.
P.S. I have already, sold 1 of my items, before I even listed them, for sale. ❤️
Awesome, you can share project on Julie's Designs and Signs Facebook group page
