IMPORTANT NOTES! PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING This start of the run begins in Bronze, so expect Bronze and Silver to be just meme ranks. I mostly just goof around and try to make content out of those ranks since it's extremely easy. Another thing to mention is that this is my first run doing a Bronze to GM series. There's a lot of controversy surrounding these kinds of runs and I completely understand. Out of my 10k+ hours in the game and almost 6 years of playing, I haven't done one of these before as I understand people don't like smurfing. Overwatch hasn't had any content for years, so this was the one thing my brain could come up with to make something out of essentially nothing. I did this run with absolutely zero comms, this is pure mechanics at play. Also if you see me complain, or if I just do my usual "Man I hate this character" or I decide to blame a teammate, I usually try to refrain from doing it, I'm just very competitive and I always want to win. Again, touching on the smurfing topic, I understand some don't approve and that's okay. I still think there's value with these videos because players can learn how I position, how I use my abilities, and what I do to turn fights around in my favor. Also I was completely out of voice comms and did not interact with my team whatsoever. I hope you all can learn something from these videos as this is a 3 part series. Enjoy! and again, please remember the lower ranks aren't really going to show much. It gets way more interesting around gold/plat I'd say. Thanks again :)

What actually blows my mind is how hard you have to carry to win a bronze/gold match. Just getting gold healing isn't enough. You actually have to do damage to the enemy. I have a long way to go to get to that level, if I ever get there.
Flats jokingly said there is a pact between lower sr players that if there is a dva bomb, there must always be deaths. It's a real pact as far as I'm concerned.
I started pretty recently. The reason this happens is because u dont know how far the bomb hits so u run away from it like u would from a grenade in other games.
Just commenting to say that this video is incredibly value. I’m an older player who was hard stuck in low gold for 2+ years. I don’t get a lot of time to play because of my job and my family. But watching this video helped me understand how to position myself better and how to manage my cooldowns as Ana and I just made it to Platinum for the first time ever after. I know it’s not super impressive to most, but I’m old and busy haha so to me it’s a cool milestone. Thanks for a great resource!
Congrats!! I'm 30 and I felt so proud when I hit (low) GC in rocket league. But I get my booty stomped in overwatch. I have a compulsion to dive in to save people as support and this video helped me break that habit... Still in silver... though I am pushing through it. Congrats on the plat, it feels so far away XD.
This type of “smurfing” (if you can even call it that) where you’re focusing on actually helping your teammates excel instead of you just killing everyone is awesome. The other teams have to give it their all and sometimes even manage to win it! I think overall you’re giving both sides a very good feeling even if they lose. And in the meantime a lot of people here on UA-cam can learn from your positioning, tactics etc. including me. Thank you Gale, thank you very much.
What's overpowering is Brig in bronze. It's a sure win! I think it's nice that he only healed and enabled the team in bronze, it makes it more enjoyable for the players and more entertaining for us lol
I'm stuck in gold and I Think this kind of content is valuable because in normal unranked to GM, gold/diamond is only played in the first games. I know each tip is applicable to each rank, but in fact there ARE differences in how the games are played. Other youtube made an Moira bronze to GM some years ago and I find really valuable to see various games in gold rank. Also I think there is a HUGE difference in surfing just for the sake of it and "smurfing" as a content. I would not mind lose a game for someone doing this, is just one game after all. Thanks!
I just want to mention. It took going 21-4 to get out of bronze. I could understand someone being stuck in bronze if it took a gm player 5 hours to get out of bronze.
It’s not like it was difficult for him though, it’s just a grind. The system is designed for it to take a long time to climb out of ranks, because if it took one small win streak to get out you don’t necessarily learn anything nor belong in the higher rank. 21-4 is a 87.5% winrate with normal sr gain. If a bronze player gets anything above a 50% winrate and Keeps it there, they will eventually climb out even if it takes some time, which it should. Slowly climbing the ranks let’s you improve as a player, since bronze eventually bleeds into silver, and sometimes you’ll get a gold playing with a bronze friend to play against, etc. which is all a good learning experience. A player stuck in bronze that gets a lucky win streak and instantly climbs to high silver/gold isn’t healthy for the game and regardless of how good he is, if he isn’t a smurf, he will drop right back down because the skill gap is too much to handle at first. In one season on ana only I climbed from 3300-4k, and didn’t touch that account much anymore because I did feel lost in team fights. I’ve climbed multiple accounts to gm now so I’m comfortable, but that big of a jump in 1 season was a lot for me to handle at once, which is why I got stressed/dropped sr or didn’t play on the account. Everyone feels like they belong at a higher rank than they are, and even if a bronze player does belong in gold, you have to climb there yourself and actually play in high bronze, low silver, high silver lobbies first to really have a better understanding of the game.
to be fair, hes playing ANA around his team and memeing. If he went dps zen/baptist, this grind would of taken him 2 or 3 hours and then the SR boost would sky rocket him into diamond within 8.

High-level players say it's just your skill that matters and while that's mostly true this just caused the enemy teams to all lose Sr when they were not Eve against sales skill players.
tbh your skill made a real diff in some bronze games (like the first route 66 game), the averagegood bronze/silver/gold and even plat player would surely not be able to stand out and win those games, so they just would be stuck in bronze even if they deserve better rank
Not true. If you are better than the enemy supports(or tank or dps depends what you play) even if just by a little you will eventually climb out. Might take a bit longer than if you're a smurf but it will happen. Saying that a gold or plat would have trouble getting out of bronze is just pure nonsense. Even a silver wouldn't struggle to bad to climb out.

Difference between bronze and plat: Bronze: nobody knows what the objective is and panic reaction to whats directly infront. Zero game sense. Plat: knows what the objective is but expects everyone else to do objectives while they all go DPS, everyone wants to flank or spawn kill. No teamwork.
Would be actually so fun to just invite 4 of your favorite players u played with doing this challenge.. tell them who u are and what u did, and just go play some QP with them Like sir squishy, and DEF the hamster that didn’t die that game (was one of the most fun games tho) Some of ur team mates were actually really good.. curious if they got out of bronze by now as well.. In case anyone is actually curious low rank players tend to have high endorsement levels because it actually means something. If you are an asshole we can actually tell in Bronze before the game starts though there is a level of mercy because you lose endorsement rating if you DC which happens. Generally though people will always click it.
I was debating on if I should upload that one tbh. I feel like there's way more to learn from Ana than there is Soldier, and in the Soldier series I really just stomped everything and everyone. A ton of these Ana games were super close (especially in plat up to masters) so I just feel there's more entertainment value there.

tbh your skill made a real diff in some bronze games (like the first route 66 game), the averagegood bronze/silver/gold and even plat player would surely not be able to stand out and win those games, so they just would be stuck in bronze even if they deserve better rank
Not true. If you are better than the enemy supports(or tank or dps depends what you play) even if just by a little you will eventually climb out. Might take a bit longer than if you're a smurf but it will happen. Saying that a gold or plat would have trouble getting out of bronze is just pure nonsense. Even a silver wouldn't struggle to bad to climb out.
bronze is so wholesome
1:30:30 this man was 11 health for like 4 swings
Bronze don't use cover so dva bombs hit people because they are standing out in the middle and are not fast enough to hide.
clicked for the ana play, stayed for the googly eyes.
LETS GOOO
I miss your videos :(( but I hope you’re doing good
i came to watch bronze to gm gameplay and ended up questioning my self worth over my neurodivergency and physical appearance/j
What do you mean
@@commentbot9510 his comments about bpd and physical attraction
@@bridger5477 he what
Oh yeah, flanking junkrats, the worst nightmare of a bronze support player with zero peels.
I am bronze but watching it made me laugh so hard lol
thanks for the content
I sure hope the soldier bronze to gm gets uploaded to youtube soon.
Classic Moo9
Currently doing a defensive driving class for insurance reduction and watching this series since its a 5.5 hour class.
I can’t believe how rude and self superior your comments are. These players are worse than I am, let’s mock them! Good work. You’re the champ bud.
Kinda rude and self superior sounding to say they're worse than you lol
It didn’t really seem that way to me, what are you referring to?
Who asked
you laugh at 23:00 at the bastion spot, BUT HIGHKEY as a GM bastion OTP thats one of my favorite spots, its unpinnable by rein because of the totem infront of him lol
Solo grav
"Uh oh"
Sleeps zarya
"No"
Teammate immediately wakes her up kills Ana and loses point
3:40 from 2-2 to 4-2
"9 charge kills, i've never seen this card in my Life" i Just got that like Yesterday in a plat lobby lmao , i guess i fed like a madlad, i feel Sorry for my healers.
PS
Those games in the video are wild, so funny
Its an unwritten rule somebody always gotta die to dva bomb or youre griefing
When the Dva died in the beginning at 8:44 I lost it 😂
Difference between bronze and plat:
Bronze: nobody knows what the objective is and panic reaction to whats directly infront. Zero game sense.
Plat: knows what the objective is but expects everyone else to do objectives while they all go DPS, everyone wants to flank or spawn kill. No teamwork.
w for listening to phonk
1:14:30 cass dies to junk aftermath after gale kills him bronze elo is a truly magical place💀
I feel offended, after 4500 hrs of competitive I'm still Bronze 5, how do you say it's rare? How!
Maybe I don't have a functional brain
Woah you're back 👀
Well good it gives long videos with full gamplay.... I used it to learn ult tracking and I am pretty decent now.... Thx
Would be actually so fun to just invite 4 of your favorite players u played with doing this challenge.. tell them who u are and what u did, and just go play some QP with them
Like sir squishy, and DEF the hamster that didn’t die that game (was one of the most fun games tho)
Some of ur team mates were actually really good.. curious if they got out of bronze by now as well.. Y can maybe give them some tips if they didn’t climb :)
tmw he mentions it being hard to be in bronze, meanwhile im having to sweat every game to try to get out of bronze lol
Already watched 3 hours. You are a great dude
In case anyone is actually curious low rank players tend to have high endorsement levels because it actually means something. If you are an asshole we can actually tell in Bronze before the game starts though there is a level of mercy because you lose endorsement rating if you DC which happens. Generally though people will always click it.
"It's actually hard to have a bronze account"
It's a good thing my lowest was 1501 sr then
Would love to see a bronze to master zenyatta
the ML7 ML7 scream at 3:33:33 killed me bro
The fact that it takes a top 500 player over 10 hours to climb back to their rank says something about how terribly grindy the game is.
That's insanely fast for a team based game.
at least i was called skillful for being bronze
3:23:10 probably the craziest overtime fight ive seen lmaooo
This video is proof low ranks is elo hell
bro, why didn't you upload the bronze to gm soldier only to UA-cam?
I was debating on if I should upload that one tbh. I feel like there's way more to learn from Ana than there is Soldier, and in the Soldier series I really just stomped everything and everyone. A ton of these Ana games were super close (especially in plat up to masters) so I just feel there's more entertainment value there.
@@Gale_Adelade I would gladly watch it starting from diamond for example where positioning matters a little bit more so there still would be something to learn
22:49 JASDKJASKDFJASKFJAOKFJKOJSKS NO WAY THE BASTION KILLED THEIR WHOLE TEAM! I'M DONE!
if this video had comms it would be golden but missed opportunity I guess
Bastion in bronze go Burrr
7:41
Sigma: “What is that m-“
it doesnt look like ligmas cheating tho
Damn it takes a long time to climb on Anna.
Gale, ML7 found that had has used it on stream, its a funny spot.
Gale there used to be a sr bonus some time ago, but it was removed around when sig came out I believe.
54 elims with Ana lol
Did the Diva get a Doppel bomb? 1:34:00 ?
