for anyone curious, bar 248 (1:43) the chords on bright are Ebadd#11 (post is the #11) to Bbminmaj7 (post is the maj7) to Gadd9/B (post is the add9), just an epic and magical sequence
Yeaaa I was right about to mention that. I hear acapella stuff doing that a bunch. Is there something about the voice that lends itself to that particularly well?
@@bbbwizard it has to do with the tension and suspense. Naturally you want it to resolve so in a sense holding it longer is pretty just teasing you with the suspense And then it finally resolves.
So I'm in bed for 8 weeks after an operation and have been going to most places on the Internet barbershop related. Thanks for your tags. Wonderful to listen to, hard ( But fun ) to try and match your lead vocals! Thanks again
My fav form you for sure, that quick part was brilliant! I loved when you sang “out there on the dunes” and “Arabian moon” very well done, and incredible range!
A year ago I literally knew nothing about barbershop, and now I get ridiculously excited whenever this man uploads. Great content that switched me on to the beauty of tags! Keep it up :)
I’m so happy my friend introduced me to barbershop, because now I’ve found one of the greatest voices I’ve ever heard! Tim is incredible, absolutely inhuman
So Tim is of a subspecies of humans experimented on by the Kree, who gained incredible vocal range, microtuning precision, and hanger hold time, from his exposure to the Terrigen Mists?
@@TimWaurickMusic you are just in legendary territory with what you are doing - I think you went _longer_ with that frickin post than in contest, sweet Lord! 🙆🏻♂️ EDIT: timed it to OVER 30 wondrous seconds - You. Are. A. Straight. BEAST!
Hold on while I go fetch my jaw that fell to the floor some time on the last ten bars. That harmony in bar 251 is just wow. In general, such a wow moment
Tim. . . A couple of questions? 1) Why are you this good? 2) How are you this good? 3) Why do you do this to my soul? You are incredible. Just when I thought my mind couldn't get blown anymore, you keep ramping it up! Ugh, if only I had a fraction of your talent man! Excellent job as always!
Tim, An incredibly fond memory of having Vocal Spectrum as our Feature Quartet in 2012 (Man, it's been a decade already! WOW!) was not only having you here, on your birthday no less, but to see and hear you guys sing this incredible arrangement LIVE! Brother, you continue to astound us each week! Aaron hardly ever arranges anything easy but it's always awesome...just like you!
@@TimWaurickMusic Something else truly wonderful happened this past weekend. The young man (Matt) from our chorus (leukemia survivor) that you dedicated your performance of "Bring Him Home" just got married on Saturday! Miracles do happen! God bless you, Brother!
This is the tune that introduced me to modern barbershop (yeah, late to the party, I know). I've always been blown away by this arrangement. So happy to have this new recording of the tag! Amazingly done!
I heard this live at an afterglow 9 years and 11 months ago. Watching back the youtube video, the lights accidentally got shut off for 30 seconds and VS never missed a beat. They take afterglow literally! You're an inspiration, Tim!
Videos like this where there are numerous small (but crucial) musical moments just make the brilliant post at the end so much more musically punctual 💥🎶 thank you for making Tuesdays so special Tim
Finally, we've come full circle haha. Still one of the most ridiculous tags I've ever heard and you killed it as always! Can't wait for VS to sing this at their 25th... ;) Can't wait for next Tuesday!
Everyone like, subscribe, and hit the bell icon! I always get pumped when the notification of a new Tim Tag video pops up. Always. What software and hardware do you recommend for other aspiring tag-singing folks out there?
WOW!! I knew that the tag was not super easy (even though you and VS make it sound and look super easy), but I didn't realize just HOW difficult it is! Tuning, part shifts, weird interval jumps, key changes, and more... Though, now that I know it is an Aaron Dale piece I am not in the least bit surprised!! Well done!
I think that may be the first time I saw Tim turn any shade of pink after a post! Still incredible!!! This post takes me at LEAST two breaths to achieve, let alone the power behind it!
So happy you decided to cover this one for today’s video, Tim!! Long time admirer of your musicianship and your content!! What a beast of an arrangement by Aaron!! I learned the baritone and bass for this one but never got to do it!! Thank you for EVERYTHING you do!!♥️
I can't believe I haven't commented until now!!! I've listened every day!!! This is amazing as usual Tim. I know how hard you work and the result is always spectacular!! I love you Tim!!
Worthy superlatives exceed my vocabulary at how stunning this is - musically and performance-wise. I had the pleasure of meeting Aaron at Harmony College in 2007 and sang a bunch with him and other gold medalists (some on their way to). This is a genius arrangement and I'm gobsmacked at your singing on this one. Sorry I am goobing - on vacation out west and just am blown away how much happier you made my week.
I absolutely love this song and love this tag. I hope one day to be able to sing this tag with you, Jonny and Eric. Until then my friend, take care and stay safe!
Good lord, Tim!! That didn’t just knock my socks off, it blew them all the way across the country! 🤩 Standing up and applauding, my friend 🙌👏👏👏 Absolutely amazing 💖🎶💖
Tim, there is a simple beauty to your voice. These tags truly show off your talent. I'd love to hear you in a quartet where you are the lead. It would be both amazing and sad because you couldn't also sing tenor ;-)
Your quartet introduced me to the world of barbershop and the very first piece I was introduced to was this one and was blown away (especially by the tag!!!) To hear you sing every voicing and still sound just as incredible as your album recording (if not better) is unreal. Keep on being fantastic Tim!
I’ve never been able to get over how brilliant that transition is! Gets me every time 🤯. Wonderful from you as usual. Still baffles me how you can also pop out those low bass notes.
That made me breathless just watching! Fantastic work, the lock and ring with just your voice singing all parts is unbelievable. Thank you for sharing your gift with us all, I love your work.
Excellent job Tim, not only does it sound incredible when you put it all together, but your pitch is also spot on. You made this sound so much better. Truly amazing!

^amazing!
Especially for the tenor 😭
I would need the freaking oxygen mask immediately!! (Automatic defibrillator?)🤯
Tim, try singing "Show Me Where the Good Times Are" lead post optional as sung by Westminster and Sounds of Tennessee.

That augmented 4th at the end always gets to me. I feel like it could be held much longer than it usually is, it's so cool! Beautiful as always, Tim
Thanks, Joel!! I love that part too. So clever that Aaron thought to arrange that!

Yes!!! Love hearing a good bit of the song before the tag, helps the casual viewer who is looking for the melody. This is simply brilliant.
