I bought this when it came out. A great cassette deck. I can't believe you found a brand new sealed unit 42 years later. Thanks for posting this. I relived the excitement of opening the box years ago.

Wow! This is so awesome. I have a TC-K35 which I love but it was unboxed decades ago!...and you have one which is brand new old stock...Nice to see it in the factory fresh state. How very lucky you are!
I don't want to upset you, but there are white dots all over the surface of the tape drive. Unfortunately it's a fungus. Most likely the storage was very wet.
@@westelaudio943 and now it isn't anymore. Honestly... I wouldn't have opened it. It will appreciate even more in the future and there's still plenty of good used machines out there.

Amazing find! Testing it with a TDK MR was very brave though, especially after seeing the pinch rollers😮.
I bought this deck in 1980 and it's still running! Just had to replace a couple of belts.
I had used this cassette deck, dual capstain 3head with FG servo motor ❤

Even this one needed a real good service before being put into service.
And the originals belts were still good after all those years... Amazing! Thanks for sharing. Let me know if you ever need help fixing it.
Excellent condition top quality product. I like Sony products.
Those pinch rollers dont look ok , try cleaning and if it wont help , replace.
They just need a good scrubbing with isopropanol and that's about it. It's a good old quality roller.

Brand new. In box! then proceeds to scratch the fascia with his nails trying to remove the tape
Yeah, God provides a handkerchief to those who do not have the flu.
However, there is a small tab to detach the tape from it... Japaneese guys think about everything
NOS item condition but to be honest it will still need a good service, capacitors and so on probably lost their parameters but overall this is a gem!

Impossible. Sony had stopped making cassette decks of this type many years ago. This model was a 1980 year make and being kept for all these time.....
