I have no idea what variety I have since mine came from a dollar store "rainbow mix" seed packet, but mine is in soil and still alive after five years and being the first plant ever that I managed to grow from a seed without killing. Coleus has been a very forgiving "teacher" plant and opened the doorway to a huge obsession with plants!
I’m scared!!! But loving it ❤ my mom got me a huge one from Walmart. I thought she was going to get me a smaller one 😂 I hope it does well in my room. I repotted it

Ciao, gracie Della visita! Coleus can be grown in water for a few months to a year, but then, they tend to decline. It’s better to put them in LECA. On second question, the amount of water in external pot for LECA should be approx 1 1/2 “ Hope this helps 😀🪴
I have some but mine keeps dying for some reason. I got them from a cutting as well. They were doing good for some time but now I'm down to 1 and it's leafs just started falling off urghh
Can anybody give me some ideas how to help my trusty Rusty? I found him on the side of the road no soil in it it was such a little soil in it it was falling to me leaving a plant outside it's like leaving a family dog outside it's just not right so I took him home and I put fresh soil in it and it seemed like it was growing very well but I googled it and it said that it likes plenty of Sun cuz I don't know anything about trusty Rusty and give him plenty of water but I want to go look at him and today and it looked like the red leaves are now White he's dying on me anybody got some pointers for me please 🥺 I don't want to let him go quite yet he's such a beautiful beautiful plant I just need some ideas please
Hi there. Sounds like you poor Coleus is in shock from drying out. If you can, try cutting a stem segment that still looks healthy. Place it in water. Coleus roots very easily in water. Try this with as many segments as you can. The other white dying parts unfortunately will probably die, you will need to compost those. Hope this helps. 😀🪴
Hi. She needs water a lot! She is a Thirsty plant! We water every 4 days in a bright areas (more growth) and around every 7 days in lower light areas away from windows. Hope this was helpful😀🪴

But let me share with you our Coleus House Plant Care guide: Medium light 400- 800 foot candles. Water every week if grown in soil. They love water and leaves will droop if too dry. Fertilize with a liquid 20-20-20 in Spring/Summer. We like Jacks brand. On pests, keep a look out for spider mites and mealy bugs. 😀 🪴

Also it looks a lot like a trusty rusty but more burgundy/deep magenta than rust colored

I plant in pon and pumis and diy pon and still have fungus knats. They may not be laying eggs but they are attracted to moisture. Soil or semi hydro

Yes, we recommend you change the soil with indoor potting mix + some worm castings. 😀🪴

Is yours grown in soil? We have found that our soil grown love, love water. Maybe try watering more?

2 part indoor potting1/part perlite/1part worm castings ; this mix will make your trusty so happy!
