Amazing video. Love the shots, the colors an sound mixing , really appreciate. And this lens, even if it's cost a lot ... damn is so good Wanna see more of this. Thx
i think the times of cinema cameras got a end now with all these great new modern time sensors and small cameras for indie filmmakers its enought imo. great job loved the footage and the grading :)
Wonderful job, this make me want to buy a Lumix camera instead of a Blackmagic XD, you must do a tutorial for color grading lumix footage, and may be will finish buying one
Hallo. Please HELP I have Lumix gh5s and Anamorphic objektiv Vazen 40mm 1.8X. Output video signal to external displays (Atomos and Fellworld) allways show only 50% off Aspect ratio. With desqeeze 1.8X. I have 2.0 HDMI Kabel. I testet all of possibles settings on camera and external Monitor and didnt fou solutions. Is this some technical or software issue? Thank You
Thanks Ruben! I actually just did the shoot in my backyard. Thankfully I was able to pop the smoke and then graded it to be moodier looking, was happy with the result!
I just upgraded my monitor, and now I'm seeing little things here and there that I wish I could tweak and re-upload it (grrr UA-cam!). But thank you so much!
@@howlandneal With each of your work, you will find little things that can be improved. This pushes everyone forward. Yesterday I tested the internal 4k 50fps 8bit on gh5 vs Ninja in 10bit and I wonder but internally the output is nicer.
How did you get the haze in the forest. I have a shoot upcoming and looking for some similar solutions to hazing up large outdoor areas. Thanks. Lovely footage.
Hey Jon, I actually just used the standard 'smoke bomb' people use for photo/video. I ordered the white ones and the run time was 90 seconds. They were dirt cheap and exactly what we needed.
I filmed using the SmallHD Focus 5' to help see a larger screen. Actually just picked up a Atomos Ninja V and really loving it. Editing for this was done in FCPX.
Honestly yes they are quite expensive, but when you compare it to other adapters it ends up costing just slightly more but with better performance and ease of use.
Wow the best GH5 footage I have seen. Amazing colours very cinematic. Inspired by your work. 💯
Appreciate it! I'm still working on learning proper grading, always feel there is much to learn. But thank you for your comment!
These are seriously some of the best visuals I've seen out of micro four thirds!! Inspiring 🔥
1:17 my fav shot. Beautiful lens flare and composition
Man, this looks so sick
the shots of the soldier are beautiful!
My favorites too, wanting to do a similar shoot soon. 😎
Amazing video. Love the shots, the colors an sound mixing , really appreciate. And this lens, even if it's cost a lot ... damn is so good
Wanna see more of this. Thx
Absolutely stunning
Glad you dig it!

This is like 2 older 4:3 aspect videos side by side :)
Pretty much! It's basically just one 4:3 image squeezed horizontally.
if you know what you're doing, you don't need a cinema camera. Good job neal as always!
Ok. So I need one after watching this. Amazing work
Honestly it is a perfect pair with a GH5 or GH5s, they make for an amazing combo!
This was beautiful man. The scenes with the soldier looked like a movie.
Thanks Manny. Yeah I was trying to emulate some shots from The Thin Red Line!
@@howlandneal Beautiful shots brother. Your video is inspiring me to shoot some vietnam flashback sequences from a narrative script that I'm writing.
Wow !! This looks very high-end. Very professional.
Thank you!
I have a GH5 and my footage looks like it was recorded by a calculator compared to this. Amazing work.
Really cool shots. I have S5 lumix, before I had GH5s. Your lens is amazing. I don’t have similar lens… ( only vintage old
magnificent
Thanks!

This was some incredible footage!
Thanks so much!
Bro this is awesome. Love the colour grade so much
Thank you! I use the Leeming LUT for a nice simple and natural grade.
Your colour grading also amazing ❤️
Thank you so much! I'm still a novice when it comes to grading, so that means a lot to me.
VERY well done!
Glad you liked it! Thanks Jesse!
great job! It is a very beautiful footage!
These lenses do not allow adapting PL mount, right?
They do make a PL mount!

Man these soldiers shot are just amazing
Just like they were from Platoon or other amazing war movie
Is it from a short film or something ?
Thanks Ruben! I actually just did the shoot in my backyard. Thankfully I was able to pop the smoke and then graded it to be moodier looking, was happy with the result!
@@howlandneal Which goes to show that we can create amazing result from any location !

@@howlandneal Cool. Thanks!
awesome footage. was this shot in v-log?
Thank you Alan! It was just filmed in Cine-D.
Cool
are you using adobe premiere? also .. are you using ninja or inferno .. or straight from camera body??
I filmed using the SmallHD Focus 5' to help see a larger screen. Actually just picked up a Atomos Ninja V and really loving it. Editing for this was done in FCPX.
@neal Howland, so you recommend to merge Vazen with Atomos?
This is GOOD
Glad you like it!
Really nice...what monitor are you using for this lens to get proper focus?
Thanks! I was using the SmallHD focus 5".
@@howlandneal You must have hawk eyes :-)
hey, was this handheld?
Some of it is, yeah. I had a little rig set up to add weight since the GH5 is so light.
What adapters/accessories are needed to fit this lens to the GH5?
It's a micro four thirds mount so no adapter is needed. That's what I find so great about it!
Neal Howland awesome! I’m gonna rent it.
song??
The song was from Musicbed: Don't Go - Chris Coleman

Wow. Absolutely incredible. Only problem is...those lenses cost a fortune.......
