Tsugaru-nuri is said to have originated in the late 17th century. This is the northernmost region for producing traditional lacquerware. The process of numerous separate applications of colored lacquer on wooden substrates and polish are repeated.

Very beautiful craftsmanship. I enjoy all of your videos. Thank you very much for the English subtitles... and also quite pleasant music!
Thank you!
woow, amazing. big hug from Argentina.
I wish your videos were longer and a bit more in depth into the crafts they depict. The video quality is superb but I always feel something is missing because they are not thorough enough. I hope you would be able to make more videos showing the whole process from start to finish of a particular craft because they are so wonderful to watch. And I am sure nobody here would complain to a 10min or 15min video on each craft, as it is so relaxing to watch. Anyway thank you for these short videos too!!
Thank you!
All these traditional craft videos are just awesome and incredible!

How wondrous l often pondered how they where fashioned :) now l know. All the steps that lead to your idea of finished are great marks of a teacher. lts all very beautiful but courius as courius can be.
Thank you!
Japnanesee craftsmen have a thing... a thing that is lost in most of the western world. I don't know what... maybe pride ?
Belíssimo
Beautiful design. I assume lacquerware is expensive.
👏👏👏💐💐💐❤❤❤
Arigato for English subtitles, mate!
Thank you!
Sugoi homani.
yeah i agree with the people below me please add some subtitles
sorry.
It is currently hard to read because it is compatible only with automatic translation.
there is no automatic translation... there is nothing...
Is it displayed in Japanese?
no nothing at all...
What does "no English" refer to the interview scene?
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
subtitles would be cool
so why the fabric?
I'm sorry.
It is not cloth, "wooden container" is right.
write "wooden container" as "木地" in Japan.
it helps the lacquer stay on without it would just chip off
👏🇨🇱
This is what I call art. Not modern shit that fetches millions of USD because theres a blue line on a canvas.
Thank you very much!
Great craftsmanship, but overuse of shallow focus on the camera makes the video unconformable to watch.
It's ugly
