I have never seen this idea before and I love it! I love watching Hannah Louise Poston and her duping the vibes videos. And I also like seeing what I can declutter or dupe in my own collection. So having these mini size pans would be awesome for palettes I might want to pass on or that I don’t want to depot. Great idea!!! 🤩💖

Awe thank you, I'm so happy to hear you love this concept too!! 💕 I love watching Hannah and Lauren (Lauren Mae beauty) do their duping the vibes videos too! I always wanted to be able to do that but my singles collection is not as extensive as theirs and it felt weird buying single shadows of ordinary eyeshadows like a pink or green matte just for BYOP when I already had those shades in my palettes... so thats how I came up with this sampling concept!! I'm excited to do videos on duping the vibes of new palettes too now :D And thats very true these pans could totally be used for keeping a sample of the colours while passing on a palette. I am working on a future followup video with tips + tracking some of these sample eyeshadows so that I can provide the total number of uses we can expect to get out of eyeshadows in these tiny pans since I couldn't find information on anyone else panning 15 mm eyeshadows.

@@brainsbeauty I’ve always loved deporting my Colourpop palettes since they’re magnetic and I can easily move them around and pop them back in. And I really like their size in the palettes instead of the typical 25/26mm pans. I wish I could find a distributor for the CP pan sizes because I purchased a pack of 15mm pans to see if I’d like them and I felt like they were tiny. But the way you use them is really genius and can give me even more potential with my palettes. How much/where did you source your pans and mortar and pestle from?

@@darciann yesss I wish all brands were like colourpop/natasha denona and made their pans magnetic so they could easily be moved around/become singles! Oh hmm how large are the colourpop pans? I got my pans and pestle from tkbtrading (tkbtrading.com/search?page=1&q=tin%2A&type=product), taking a look here it jumps from 15 mm to 26 mm options in the round pans, but there is a 24x21 mm rectangle pan? You could also buy a normal sized pan but not fill it up when you sample from it, I just choose the smallest option to save space and only take a small amount of product (because I use these pans in my make it or buy it series where some shades I want to just try out the colours and not make a bunch). Taking a quick look, theres 20 mm options on alibaba but I haven't tried purchasing from there. If you find another good retailer let me know :)

Wow, you've inspired me a lot! I've been falling in love with graphic liner recently and ogling all the water activated liners but I'm currently in a no buy month so I've been playing with Duraline to transform all my shadows into eyeliners instead. This seems like a great idea to be able to do that more easily and keep my original palettes clean for using as shadow 😊

I love playing with duraline to multipurpose my eyeshadows into liners too! Especially all the fun shimmers/multichromes. I'm glad to hear you've been inspired to keep getting creative with playing what what ya have, let me know how you like using the sample pans with duraline, I think thats brilliant (I haven't done that before!)

I'm normally such a lurker, but I wanted to pop in and tell you that I have watched this video no less than 5 times since I found you earlier in the week. You are so calming, and this idea has inspired me beyond belief. I've been frankening eyeshadows for a long time and frankening products (mixing purple eyeshadow into pink cream blush to get more of a purple cream blush, etc)since the beginning of the pandemic, but I never would have considered the tiny pans. You're a genius! Your channel is literally a mix between HLP, Makeup Breakup, FacesbyGina's instagram, and everything I love about makeup- being creative with what you have. I've already binged all of your content, and I can't wait to support you more in the future. I also love your journey towards your PhD. I'm currently working towards my bachelor's degree in Psych, and it's so lovely to see another beauty lover who loves brains like I do, with a similar concept. :)

Omg 😭😭😭 you're so sweet, I tried not to but ya made me cry😭 (happy tears haha). I started my channel last year but have watched HLP and the beauty news gals for yearsss so being likened to them is such a huge compliment thank you 💕💕💕 I recently figured out insta but facesbygina's video on dry pressing mattes is what actually made me get over the lil fear I had of pressing stuff so I am super grateful to her. I had watched frankening videos from various project panners over the years and it just makes me so happy to contribute more ideas like this to the beauty community with my make it or buy series and sample/tiny pan shadows! I actually have rven more new creative ideas just need the time to film!! I have one in mind for next week so stay tuned ;) I'm so glad this has inspired you 💕, meeting creative like-minded beauty lovers has been the most rewarding thing of making content. if you make your own tiny pans and have insta please tag me I'd love to see or even feel free to dm me. Oh and so proud of you for pursuing a Bachelors in Psych!! I know undergrad can be so so intense but I hope its been going well for you!

@@persephonegrail1995 You're too kind thank you! Yes I feel like being able to sample will work for both smaller and larger collections because it just lets us get more use out of the eyeshadows by having them in an additional single form. Ooohh I want the Blend Bunny palettes I'll probably purchase the rainbow one as soon as I pan my nyx rainbow palette, but yea I can see the worry in breaking those from depotting (I personally haven't depotted any palettes before but I've seen people needing to repress broken shadows). Excited for ya to get the tiny pans and try out this technique, my insta is brainybeauty97 so ya feel free to reach out! Just remember these are tin pans so if you do use alcohol for pressing make sure its like as close to 99% (so no water or it'll rust). I personally like dry pressing though but I remember someone else commented they don't like that more matte powder is picked up by the brush with dry pressing... I actually recently purchased a 5$ C-clamp so I wonder if using that would help add more pressure... or spraying the top layer with alcohol... so still experimenting with different techniques. About your degree, progress, it is amazing no matter what pace you're going at, I had to do several summers so I could distribute my workload rather than 5 courses at once, but we do what makes us reach our goals and thats what matters! Awwe thank you, liner mixing project I will do in Feb likely, and hahaha yesss you get me I am liiviiinggg the fantasy panning this rose blush. Thank you for all the support and taking the time to write these sweet comments

When I am pressing or repressing, I like to do it on top a sheet of paper. That way, any powder that falls around the pan can easily be put into the pan by bending the paper into a slide and letting the powder fall back into the pan

Thanks for sharing this techique! Its a good reminder for me, I think I'd seen it but because the pans were so small so I needed to hold them using the palette I though I couldnt place a paper underneath but now that I know (from the pictureframe palette video) that pans still stick over paper I will try that in my next pressing video!

I've just discovered your channel. This is so cool, but unfortunately I cannot find these pans in EU without paying an arm and a leg for them... Should I happen to find them, I am considering doing the same with my stash.
Nice video and new subscriber here :)
