It's mind boggling that they don't even offer it as an accessory... You used to be able to for the last 30 years. It has the words "cost out" written all over it. I get it, not everyone needs fog lights but on a $40k CRV? No lumbar on the new loaded Civic? Mooch much?
It makes sense they would make more defining lines between the trims with the manual. At this point only enthusiasts want manuals. Might as well only offer them in the enthusiast trims of Si and Type R.
I can’t wrap my head around to them killing the EXL trim. I really wanted one of these with smaller wheels for a more comfortable ride and better fuel economy while still having leather seats.
Same for the EX on the sedan side. Looks like your wheel choices are 16" steel with cheap hubcaps (LX sedan only) or 18". I don't understand why everything needs to be a 'sport' trim. Maybe they'll surprise us with a 16" or 17" alloy wheel on the LX but that doesn't do you any good if you want to go hybrid or if you want any trim of the hatchback. I think the 17" alloys on the current EX/EL-L are perfect size and design for the car, but I wouldn't count on seeing them in '25.
just drove the '25 Civic Hybrid Sedan and I really liked it. Plenty of power, very comfortable seats (Sport touring) room, and quiet. At 49 mpg combined, it could be a no brainer for most folks. I want the hatchback, so I'll have to wait a bit longer to get that one. When are you going to drive one. They are asking around 32K.
I'm hoping that Honda will finally include Lumbar support in front seats. Would not recommend those 18 inch wheels with the low sidewall tires, are not good with the bad roads in the Northeast! They can leave you stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire and a bent wheel!
And it looks like one won’t even fit in the hatchback. Hopefully one will though. I know I’d just be buying one and putting it in there after the fact, if one will fit, and calling it a day.
So if I interpret this right, the only way to get leather will be the sport touring in both sedan and hatchback. Previously that was only true of the sedan as the hatchback had the EX-L. So it seems like the trims on both body styles will be the same with the same equipment just a hatchback or sedan. Makes a lot more sense. I still don't understand why the top trim civic gets the all digital dash but the top cr-v doesn't. Also so glad they kept the shifter. The europe hybrids all get that stupid push button transmission.
Part of me wants a civic with an IMA and 5 speed of years past, but as I’m getting older their new system is okay. I’m shocked every other brand is using a version of the old IMA system, and Honda hasn’t used it on any of their bigger SUVs.
the days of L15 boys grenading their cvt transmissions with a ktuner is over i guess. I’m more of a fan of the K20C2 myself. i do have a ktuner and some fun bits that make it faster than the stock L15. probably more reliable too. it’s a 2022 manual sport hatch. still only 15,000 miles i plan on keeping it a long time. i respect the hybrid tech, it seems like a great system having the engine as like a generator that can also link directly to the drivetrain for more power. i just don’t think the tuners are gonna touch it without the turbo. the mod scene for the K20C2 is already pretty dead. you get the prl intake, the rv6 downpipe, the ktuner and you’re done. good parts but not a lot of them. time will tell i guess. the civic hybrids never got love before
I don't really like the new front bumper on this 2025 model. But the rest of the car is fine. I do believe the Civic looks better than the current version of the accord, but I have the previous version which I think looks better than all of them.
There's a reason why I'll never sell my '06 fg2 Civic Si Coupe. K20Z3 6-speed with only 118k miles. Last of the REAL V-TECH Honda's 😊 It's not fast but engaging as a DD. 'Rather drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow' 😂 I consider it a FWD S2000
Thought we may possibly see the 12 inch screen, seems just mostly mild NVH improvements, still no rear vents ☹️, what if Acura pulled a 180 and gave the ADX this powertrain
Acura is leaving money on the table by not doing hybrids... if Acura won't do hybrids, then Honda needs to stop holding back on features for its hybrids (rear air vents, rear USB, 360 camera, etc)
Would this new Civic Hybrid become "the Si for those who can't drive manual transmission"? 😆😅 I feel like the Si isn't worth the money besides for the joy of driving. l really really hope Honda can at least upgrade the power slightly (220-230 HP minimum would be nice) if they decided to upgrade the Si or the Integra. That would make them more appetizing!!
IKR... they're also crazy about ginormous wheels... it's crazy to be crazy about things that reduce efficiency (and increase running & repair costs)... especially on a hybrid.
@@harrytejThere are several times in my FWD Accord Sport where I couldn't even make it through a green light on a slight incline so yeah AWD would make life better... Not to mention literally every Toyota Hybrid offers AWD.

It's frustrating to me that it's nearly impossible to find a FWD CR-V in my part of the country since everyone goes for AWD. For the extra upfront cost, gas, and maintenance, I don't see the value.
What you think they going to do with the Acura Integra since the upgrade to the of the new civic? I can’t imagine them justifying keeping that weak 200 hp cvt auto that gives 30 mpg and 8 sec 0 to 60 when the civic hybrid will have more hp and torque and get 50 mpg… and most likely much faster

Good that the l15 is gone. I know they did some updates but those had quite a few serious issues that made them unreliable. However the 6 speed disappearing makes since but still disappointing. They are gonna go quick and for a lot of money
The Civic hybrid has more torque than the Civic Si, is the updated Si getting a hybrid setup, another hybrid added to the list of available hybrid vehicles, and people wonder why hybrids are outselling EV models, how many hybrid-only models or hybrid models car companies brought back exist now

Setting aside features and brand biases, it will be interesting to know how much of a value-for-money proposition this will be against the Toyota Prius for people who are more interested in miles per DOLLAR rather than miles per gallon. Most people just customarily assume the Prius wins, but it's not a better value if total cost of ownership ends up being thousands less with the Civic Hybrid.

It's mind boggling that they don't even offer it as an accessory... You used to be able to for the last 30 years. It has the words "cost out" written all over it. I get it, not everyone needs fog lights but on a $40k CRV? No lumbar on the new loaded Civic? Mooch much?
I actually really like the new front bumper since only 1 trim came with the fogs. I really want an Si so I am interested to see what they do with that
Mazda had eMotor AWD in Mazda2 Demios in Japan over 10 years ago!
It makes sense they would make more defining lines between the trims with the manual. At this point only enthusiasts want manuals. Might as well only offer them in the enthusiast trims of Si and Type R.
I was waiting for this one. Honda s big news, no 1.5 and a new 2.0.
1.5t only in the Si seeminly. Which I guess gives the Acura Integras more exclusivity?
@@smf15 they think everyone who wants to buy their car is a boy racer.
just drove the '25 Civic Hybrid Sedan and I really liked it.
No spare tire=no sale
Put one in the trunk
Oh that'll look nice.. @@fortheloveofnoise
And it looks like one won’t even fit in the hatchback. Hopefully one will though. I know I’d just be buying one and putting it in there after the fact, if one will fit, and calling it a day.
With 18" rims you're likely to need one sooner or later.
I like how the inside has non gloss materials. Thats a huge win
What sucks is if they are discontinued parts are going to hard to come by. Is a hybrid better?
The Honda Insight: Am I a joke to you ?
RIP Honda Insight.
Dust in the wind
v6 accord coupe with manual or not interested..So the 1.5T is gone? Thank goodness for that, no more 1k oil changes due to gas in oil..
Makes me want to trade in my current Civic for a HB hybrid.
I’m more of a fan of the K20C2 myself. i do have a ktuner and some fun bits that make it faster than the stock L15. probably more reliable too. it’s a 2022 manual sport hatch. still only 15,000 miles i plan on keeping it a long time.
i respect the hybrid tech, it seems like a great system having the engine as like a generator that can also link directly to the drivetrain for more power. i just don’t think the tuners are gonna touch it without the turbo. the mod scene for the K20C2 is already pretty dead. you get the prl intake, the rv6 downpipe, the ktuner and you’re done. good parts but not a lot of them. time will tell i guess. the civic hybrids never got love before
When do you think the 2025s civic SI will be out?
11th Gen is the best looking Civic since the EK.
The Civic front looks better but the Accord’s silhouette looks sleeker, like an Audi A7.
I miss that manual in the SI, but that 2 liter hybrid in the CRV…. I am getting 42 miles a gallon right now.
Last of the REAL V-TECH Honda's 😊
It's not fast but engaging as a DD.
'Rather drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow' 😂
I consider it a FWD S2000
No rear usb and air vents is ridiculous. I wouldn’t buy it just for that reason
same here.
I might buy those rims for my 2024 sport touring.
Bye Bye 1.5t
😅I'll be trading in my Mazda 3 for a sport touring sedan next year I'm sure I have always liked this body style
The Civic Si and Type R are still gonna be offered with a manual for 2025
Would this new Civic Hybrid become "the Si for those who can't drive manual transmission"? 😆😅
I feel like the Si isn't worth the money besides for the joy of driving. l really really hope Honda can at least upgrade the power slightly (220-230 HP minimum would be nice) if they decided to upgrade the Si or the Integra. That would make them more appetizing!!
I wish they kept the Original grill oh well Id still take this over the Prius.
What's the deal with no foglights nowadays? Not just Honda.
I can only assume it's cost cutting... Some people don't realize it but fog lights are mighty useful in blizzard conditions at night
I like them for any night driving, but for sure a night time blizzard.
Why are the reviewers so crazy about AWD on these sedans? Not just him.. every reviewer
IKR... they're also crazy about ginormous wheels... it's crazy to be crazy about things that reduce efficiency (and increase running & repair costs)... especially on a hybrid.
Maybe because we live in the dreaded tundra and are sick of getting stuck with our low profile tires?
@@DkpProductions so EAWD will help?
@@harrytejThere are several times in my FWD Accord Sport where I couldn't even make it through a green light on a slight incline so yeah AWD would make life better... Not to mention literally every Toyota Hybrid offers AWD.
I live in the north and have never owned an AWD vehicle. I can count on 1 hand the number of times in 20 years when it would have come in useful and I drive in all weather conditions.
It’s 2024: let’s put an incandescent bulb in the liftgate. A filament bulb in the part of the hatch that gets slammed down. Why not all led??
I can't wait to pay 45k for a Civic
Did they add any option to the sport like wireless CarPlay or wireless charging ? Any apple key ?
Only for touring trims
Will they make a Type R hybrid?! 🫢
Will they make it a 2 door like it should have been in the first place? AWD to compete with Corolla GR and Golf?
When it's new gen shows up in 2016 with it's a wider & spacious interior, new attached quality display w CarPlay, soft grip steering handle, completely redesigned back & from. Much spacious & smooth ride plus much high fuel mileage made it to top notch. Lucky i had 1 & still running smooth for 9 years. Saved a lot in Gas & maintenance cost. Better than any cars on its class.
I got 50 mpg on my 1984 Civic Hatchback with 4-speed manual. What happened to Honda small cars? The Jazz hybrid is available around the world, except in North America. Honda has abandoned what was once its core market.
Me still trying to get an si 😢
Good that the l15 is gone. I know they did some updates but those had quite a few serious issues that made them unreliable. However the 6 speed disappearing makes since but still disappointing. They are gonna go quick and for a lot of money
Civic looks great
The Civic hybrid has more torque than the Civic Si, is the updated Si getting a hybrid setup, another hybrid added to the list of available hybrid vehicles, and people wonder why hybrids are outselling EV models, how many hybrid-only models or hybrid models car companies brought back exist now
6:38 Hold up, AWD potentially in the future? That's what I like to hear.
I've got my Lunchables and Coke Zero and I'm buckled in !!! Honda... so close yet so far. They've got to upgrade the cheap plastic infotainment screen from the toy aisle at Walmart. It's hideous.
Yep, my non touch screen 2016 Accord interior with a 8" screen seems more refined than this tablet precariously mounted on the dash
@@DkpProductions 100% !!! If I bought a car I would buy vintage, just to keep the screen as small as possible, perhaps no screen at all. What Toyota and Honda does is hideous and you can never NOT look at it. A big slab of plastic is always in your face.
Not to mention the Prius' much smaller interior space.
Not getting rid of my 19 sp touring 6sp hatch
I like it! Can't wait for you to drive it. Boost Blue for me.
Trading my 6 speed manual civic sport on a 2025 type r went to the dealer yesterday to claim the one allocation they get can't wait!
What about spare parts for the manual when you buy?
Don’t like the rims
You mean wheels. A rim is the out edge of a wheel.
I don't either. Would prefer a 16" or 17" wheel for ride quality, durability, and MPG.
no more manual means getting boring
No more manual... No more coupes... No more fog lights.. no more excitement
Will they give the SI a 2L? And a power boost upto 250/280hp 😅😅 would be nice 👍🏿
Any info on the 2025 SI. Should I rush out to get the 2024?
What use is the “sportier exterior” if they’re dropping the stick shift option 😞. It’s sad that Nissan Versa is the only manual car you can get sub $30k, and that will likely be discontinued soon too.
WE NEED THE 6 SPEED SPORT TOURING BACK!HONDA COMEONE!
