    Bro?! How did this candidates go from ultra solid mainlines in the first 7 games to absolute chaos since round 8? It feels like everyone but Nepo is just playing risky lines because f*ck it, win or die trying, no more draws. This is so much entertainment, especially with your recaps.

    • @alexgold5573
      @alexgold5573 2 роки тому +123

      everyone isnt playing mainlines bc people prep them and know how to make draws if you play things ppl dont know theres a bigger chance of them not knowing the correct move

    • @dbeast03
      @dbeast03 2 роки тому +81

      Why not? If these guys want a chance of catching up, and I imagine they haven't given up yet, they've got to absolutely go for broke. If 4 of the players are going after wins at every turn with white and playing as-sharp-as-possible lines with black, that means that a majority of the games could be sorta chaotic.
      Hey, I'm not complaining, it makes every round far more entertaining and likely more interesting for players of all levels.

    - Rapport with his swagger.
    - Hikaru the retired streamer.
    - Caruana the all rounder.
    - Ian the underdog who is crushing.
    - Ding comming from an amazing run.
    - Firouzja the rookie.
    - Duda... The poor lad we all love.
    - Radjabov who ended his classical losing streak.

      I mean , who cares if Carlsen shows up. If he doesn't , 1st and 2nd will face off, if he does , no problem. Either way he who deserves will get the title. By the way, i dont think anyone with a grain of reasoning would think Carlsen wont play

      @@PivotStickmanAnimations carlsen is a league ahead of his peers. Even if 1st and 2nd place play and we get a new champion, he will be known as the second best player. It's bad for chess if the world champ is 2nd best.

      @@Tom-dn6zy you are wrong in your naive assumption that if carlsen doesnt play the new world champion will be known as the second best player. The world championship title is not something you retain forever. The new champion will replace him and no one will care if Carlsen played.
