I was never a Castlevania fan, but what it made me want to go watch that show is they hired an excellent writer Warren Ellis, one of my favorite comic book bald guys who wrote Planetary, Nextwave and the Wild Storm
If you want to get into the games I have a somewhat "perfect" list. You can start at any point though, Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night, or if you want, Dracula's Curse or Super Castlevania IV... Heck, even Chronicles (remake of the first Castlevania). The GBA/DS games are among the greatest too. Be aware there are two styles, "classicvanias" and "metroidvanias" (popularized by SotN). The PS2 games are good too if you are somewhat familiar with the series (either the games or the netflix series)
My theories for Season 3: * Introduction of the priest Zead (Death) * Saint Germain apearing in a suporting role. * Grant Danasty apearing in a supporting role. * Conclusion of Trevor and Sypha's story and the introduction of their child (Richter Belmont). * Overall conflict and rivalry between Hector and Isaac (with it's inevitable conclusion). * Carmilla replacing Dracula as the main antagonist and been defeated by Hector. * Alucard apearing in a very small role (He couldn't help but feel guilty for having killing his father, so to ease his pain, he put himself to rest, submerging his powers). * Ending of season 3 will hint a posible way to resurrect Dracula, with a brief appearance of Shaft, leading into Rondo of Blood/SOTN Storyline. PD: As this is an adaptaton that has it's diferences from the storyline of the games, i think Richter could be introduced as Trevor and Sypha's son.
Alastor Ryodan I think you're right. The writers are obviously big Alucard fans. So I think we're headed for the Curse of Darkness storyline, then Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Knight, Aria of Sorrow, and finally Dawn of Sorrow. Remember that Alucard is Genya Arikado in Aria of Sorrow, and has an even bigger role in Dawn of Sorrow (in "Julius Mode"). He works for a top secret government agency, and probably changed his identity to pass the background check.
@@JR-mc5sj Yeah, I believe that Alucard (due to his popularity in the games and thanks to his inmortality) will serve as the character that conects the storyline through the whole duration of the series. Very much likely the creators wants to adapt seasons based on Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the night, Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow because of him, plus Aria of Sorrow/Dawn of Sorrow story could serve as a great conclusion to the series.
@@edwinalvarez9012 I know that (i've played a lot of Castlevania games), however this adaptation take place in a different universe from the games, so in this animated universe Richter could be easely presented as Trevor and Sypha's son.

I'm just hoping somebody could tell me this the whole plot series are are the human supposed to be easy heroes or is it supposed to be Dracula cuz I see Dracula at the hero because he was wrong by humans and didn't do anything wrong to the humans when his wife was alive
Nobody is totally good and totally bad. You can see that dracula was the hero because the mankind is stupid AF. But his wife wanna change that and give a second chance and from her view dracula was the bad guy. Sorry for my bad english. :(
This series is about neither, good guy nor bad guy, it is a story about ideals. In this series we see that the Church(much like in real life) is ignorant AF and we see that Drac was willing to let the humans live on peacefully but we also see that it was the humans who got shit started and that gave Drac all the reason to unleash his monsters on to the world.
People who say Dracula isn't evil are being biased. He wants to Genocide ALL of humanity, because of one corrupt city at MOST, killed his wife unjustly. While the Church may of done, he wants to Genocide all of mankind, and his generals want to use them as Cattle, Making even that corrupt bishop, Less of a evil bastard. Which is difficult to do. He is so villainous infact, That his own son(Who loves him dearly.) Stabs him in the heart, to make the madness end. Dracula was butchering thousands of innocents because the one he cared about was taken. That is more than Selfish, it is absolute Madness, and pure evil act to commit.
The Worst Catholic Don’t forgot he was excessively evil before Lisa as well. While not shown, it was mentioned that Leon hunted Dracula. That is a good couple centuries before the show took place. Lisa’s involvement in Dracula’s life is but a blink in the overall timeline.
Well. 1.) It's ''Drácula's Curse'', not ''Drácula's Revenge''. 2.) Backstory of Drac was always present in the games, but, it wasn't introduced until SOTN, here we see an upgraded version of SOTN's Dracula. 3. Respect to the characters, Trevor has some feeling to the design that Ayami Kojima provided to him in Curse Of Darkness, mainly because of the hair style and the scar in his face. 3.) Sypha seems to be the one with the less amount of changes in design. 4.) Although Alucard remains using his iconic design of Symphony Of The Night, if you compare the original suit used by him in Symphony Of The Night artwork and in the Netflix series, the SOTN version is more complex. The Netflix's version depicts him with only the cloak - jacket with a discovered white shirt.
Man, remember that level in the game where Dracula sits around staring into a fire while his lieutenants try and figure out what to do? Or that bit where Belmont sits around in a library for like 3 levels?
Also it seems very oblivious that the bandit Isaac killed and made into a monster is grant. From there, they can go by the cannon love triangle between grant, sipha, and Trevor.
Idk. I felt kind of disappointed. I missed the holy man vs demonic evil vibe from the games. Didn’t really feel like light vs dark, but more... neutral vs other neutral that’s bad..? I also dunno how they are going to top the end of the Alucard vs Dracula fight when they get to Symphony of the Night... I mean it would be like treading the same ground.
I like it better this way, because its a Trevor Belmont that has lost his entire world, his family has been excommunicated and exiled, his childhood taken from him, and his name forsaken, its way more interesting than if he were just some holy warrior called upon by thr church. And Dracula feels like another neutral because we get to see his point of view and we come to understand his pain, he lost his will to live thus he's going to enact the longest suicide note in history. Its much more dynamic and interesting than a generic "light vs dark" story because the "Light" is shown to be just as evil as the "dark" if not worse because the light had been the catalyst for the dark's evil to begin, and not to mention how the light also decided that the only clan capable of combating the dark was unworthy to fight with them. In this Castlevania story if it were just the light vs the dark then the dark would win by a long shot, so the neutral had to step in, Trevor and Alucard, with the help of the light, Sypha, to defeat the dark, Dracula. Its overall more interesting to dive into
@@thepoppets1052 I disagree. I've always found light vs dark far more interesting, but the current trend in story telling is to make things murky as possible. I might agree with you about Trevor if it wasn't for the fact he kinda get shoved into the background as a result. I feel the story focuses too much on Alucard as a result, and while I find he was portrayed perfectly, I can't shake the feeling it will make SotN a lot harder to get emotionally invested in because now it will be repeating the same stuff as before. As for the tone though, I'm definitely more of a fantasist. Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc, these have those themes of good vs evil, light vs dark. Castlevania's games generally do too. So yeah, little bummed out the lore was tweaked so much. It's kind of like, "If I wanted realistic, I wouldn't be invested into a series with vampires and magic."
Clockwork making the castle move? Where the hell did you get that from? None of the castles in any of the games move around. The clockwork in the games are almost exclusive to the Clock Tower stages which have nothing in particular to do with the castle's magic. You know for people that seem to revere Symphony of the Night so much, they totally skipped the game's explanation for the castle reappearing after it crumbles to the ground and looking different on the inside each time it does: the castle is a demonic creature in and of itself. Truth is that the series is a poor adaptation of the source material that puts lore into the back seat in favor of unnecessary creative license.
When will Maria Rernard appear? Maybe not. Since Maria is a bit on the comical side. And this show takes itself seriously. But I can imagine them putting that dragon that turtle and that cat of hers in the anime. And what about kid Dracula? The son of dracula. Nah they'd probably have to make him a little more serious. As well as Maria. Give her animal friends a little more realistic style detail. Then what we saw in rondo of blood.
The japanese dub is SO much better! As most of the time when it comes to voice acting, especially animation ;) A bit more feeling, we all still remember the bad English dub for princess Zelda. At least Japan uses good voice actors. Fun fact; the voice actor for Trevor in the japanese dub is Okiayu Ryotaro, who also makes the voice for Alucard in the games. But I absolutely love Miki Shin-ichiro doing Alucards voice, so was a better choice in the end
Still disappointed they didn't include Grant. The Japanese vampire hunters who shows up at Alucards castle were so pointless and shoehorned in. Would have been a way better opportunity to introduce Grant. If they wanted to keep that weird akward sex scene, it could have been Maria Renard. She's canonically Alucards love interest.
The reson he wasn't in ther is because his name sounds weird and what use would a pirate have on land also they didn't have time which all of it is just stupid I mean when you think of it alucard as a name is stupid and when they say they didn't have enough time when they spend a good 20 minutes looking at villain doing nothing and having no character development also with they're logic Lenore as a charcter is useless since the only thing you has done is seduce hector and make her and her sisters night creatures which sounds useful but when you think about it that hade nothing to do with diplomacy and yet she still did something at times I Wana rip Warren Allis head of
Carmela will be the big baddie of season 3 and Grant will be in it too. So far this is an interesting remix of the whole first first half of the CASTLEVANIA mythology.
Hector is going to escape and find his own purpose in life The three heroes will beat both Isaac and Camilla By introducing Science and Magic to the public Alucard would reduce the power of the church
Trevor and Slyphia beat both Isaac and Camilla Hector finds purpose of his life independent from others Would be funny if Alucard made Death and Hector teachers! Alucard is going to have a family in this series Would be interesting if the Belmont and Dracula bloodlines intermingle
I cannot wait to see Symphony of the night on screen. It’s my favorite video game ever and I’ve been playing it for 20 years. Kinda hope the last season is Symphony.
The Lords of Shadow games make up an alternate non-canon timeline that a good number of the fandom do not want to touch with a ten-foot pole. Considering Leon Belmont is part of the Netflix canon, we will certainly not be using the Lords of Shadow timeline at all. Simon is three generations down from Trevor in the official timeline.
Watched the first season, it was a snore fest, decided to give it a shot to the second season in case writers listened to viewers, three episodes so far, and all Dracula has done is move from the throne room, to his private quarters, back to the throne room and forth, this dumb series is trying so bad to be Game of Thrones but fails miserably.
It took a while to introduce all the main characters , I'd rather see Trevor's story continue rather than take a whole new season just to introduce a new set of main characters.
Wait, so the previous games (like Castlevania 3 which this is based on) wasn't even remotely canon to the later games, wherein Trevor IS Alucard? I never played the earliest ones, so I assumed them being the same person was just implied. If Trevor isn't Alucard, who the fuck is Alucard?
Lords of shadows games are a completely different version of the story. The similarities are names and that it is about dracula, barely anything else. Even actually Netflix series is also different to some extent. They added way more story. Original story is killing dracula again and again, not much more than that.
Bro 98% of the kingdom did not know what happened and weren't there like Dracula was straight up killing baby's was the Baby gonna say no to the church hell genocide because religious organizations can be corrupt is stupid not calling Dracula stupid since it was more complex then genocide
The Netflix castlevania don't understand the games. The games depicted Dracula as a primal evil, while the series made him really dumb. And the tone of the games and series are really off. As a series of it's own I don't see any problem with it, but it has nothing to do with castlevania thematically.(like how LOS isn't a good castlevania game) I really hope that Nintendo won't let them make a Zelda series. Someone like Ghibli or any other good Japanese animation studio would be better suited for it. PS castlevania made by the team that made vampire Hunter d on the other would have been a masterpiece.
If you played Symphony of The Night you'd know that the show's depiction of Dracula is pretty spot on.... in fact Dracula is further made a tragic figure in Lament of Innocence.
Netflix Castlevania is way better than Konami Castlevania. I don't know why konami doesn't want to make another Castlevania games anymore? BTW, I really love this series! 😍😘

I think season 3 will focus on the dead pet guy who betrays Dracula
Hector is going to escape and find his own purpose in life
The three heroes will beat both Isaac and Camilla
By introducing Science and Magic to the public Alucard would reduce the power of the church
Wasn’t Simon Trever’s grandson? Not son
I want to see some richter belmont
Am i the only one questioning wtf they will do with season 3, curse of darkness???
Trevor and Slyphia beat both Isaac and Camilla
Hector finds purpose of his life independent from others
Would be funny if Alucard made Death and Hector teachers!
Alucard is going to have a family in this series
Would be interesting if the Belmont and Dracula bloodlines intermingle
Awesome Vid
I cannot wait to see Symphony of the night on screen. It’s my favorite video game ever and I’ve been playing it for 20 years. Kinda hope the last season is Symphony.
Nah... last season should be Soma Cruz. In fact, there's so much stuff after SotN that I doubt they will cover most games.
@@FredMaverik idk sotn was much better and would work better on screen
Curse of darkness
What the heck happened to the original dude on this channel???
Good video, but you left out a lot of information. Didn't even bring up Hector. And in The Lords of Shadow games, Simon is Trevor's son.
You mean at least three. Simon is a good 200 years after Trevor... so yeah, a lot.
@@FredMaverik No, I was speaking about the Lords of Shadow timeline.
Sounds interesting...
I see why we won't see Grant DaNasty. :/
MojoDidntPlay
It's based off castlevania 3 what a great anime series! i loved 100 percent
Saquen mojo plays en español!!! >:v
Like para q lo vean :b
Watched the first season, it was a snore fest, decided to give it a shot to the second season in case writers listened to viewers, three episodes so far, and all Dracula has done is move from the throne room, to his private quarters, back to the throne room and forth, this dumb series is trying so bad to be Game of Thrones but fails miserably.
It's not trying to be Game of Thrones. Jesus fucking Christ
SYPHA!!!!! coño! pronounced like SIdekick and FAmily...
It took a while to introduce all the main characters , I'd rather see Trevor's story continue rather than take a whole new season just to introduce a new set of main characters.
Trevor and company will beat Isaac and Camilla in Season 3
Kinda want Death and Hector to be servants of Alucard and teach in his castle!
i never knew there was a video game
Well done
Yay 😀
Wait, so the previous games (like Castlevania 3 which this is based on) wasn't even remotely canon to the later games, wherein Trevor IS Alucard? I never played the earliest ones, so I assumed them being the same person was just implied. If Trevor isn't Alucard, who the fuck is Alucard?
Lords of shadows games are a completely different version of the story. The similarities are names and that it is about dracula, barely anything else. Even actually Netflix series is also different to some extent. They added way more story. Original story is killing dracula again and again, not much more than that.
The Castlevania series is really good.
tell it to your floating vampire jesus
Somehow devil may cry will join the universe
Isn’t Trevor Simon’s father?
I don't have any sympathy for the people of wallachia They needed to PAY for What they did To Lisa
Bro 98% of the kingdom did not know what happened and weren't there like Dracula was straight up killing baby's was the Baby gonna say no to the church hell genocide because religious organizations can be corrupt is stupid not calling Dracula stupid since it was more complex then genocide
Seefa
I need sotn to be made into Netflix
2:38 Overall Dracula's character is far more 3 dimensional in the show then his appearance on the games
Wow no one at watchmojo has ever played a fucking Castlevania game have they ?
