    Hey little one. You asked me to give you some feedback on the video, so I decided to leave my thoughts here. In short: Bravo! I think this is a FANTASTIC video! It gives me mini-film maker vibes. Great B-roll. Narration. Pacing. Best of all? It contains one element that can never be planned for but is totally a blessing when it happens - a great chemistry with somebody else on camera (Vincent). I love the guys energy and had the pleasure of hearing him play at a couple trade shows. In the Audio Note room, of course. :P. Super talented. Will also give a nod to Audio Note (UK) speakers. Had a pair of AX-TWO's and AN-K's back in the day. Good memories! Would love to see more content like this from you in the future. I think THIS is more of what the industry needs. People having FUN with products that were meant for fun in the first place. Keep rockin'! I'm proud of ya.

    Over the last 27 years of being into the high end, I’ve been to all the US audio shows multiple times. I’ve heard many friends’ systems some retailing well over six figures. The one system that stands out in my memory was an Audio Note UK system. The most real, true to life, natural presentation I’ve ever heard.

    This was a great interview with a really talented man. Totally loved his take on everything from audio components to speaker cables. He said it best when he said that everything in the chain of creating a great sounding system...matters. It all comes down to SYNERGY. Or, how everything plays and interacts as a whole; to create a sound that makes music and instruments sound real and like a live performance. As an audiophile, achieving that kind of sound is what drew me into the hobby 43 years ago. There are still two camps in the audiophile community: one that thinks that sound representation should equal LIVE performance; the other that thinks that the sound representation should be faithful to the recording/recorded medium. I'm of the former because I want my music to sound like I'm actually listening to the band/artist LIVE. If that means measurements that are not flat, or have higher amounts of distortion; I really don't care. It's all about how the system makes me believe that I'm actually listening to a live show and how the instruments should sound in real life.

    Super unique vid! The mysterious world of Audio Note! Peter Snell was a wizard!
    These speakers were available in kit form from AN (drivers/board) - now discontinued. I believe the drivers still use foam surround and are noted for needing occasional replacement.
    - btw; miss the 'O' out of Cell'O'ist - pr 'Chellist' sp 'Cellist'. (as in Pianist rather than Pian'O'ist)
    p.s. the 'stick' is a soundpost in english.

    Actually, speakers in half space eliminates the rear reflections which eliminates that delay smear. That is one of the reasons, movie theaters (good ones anyway) put a panel all around the speaker behind the screen. Depending on the dispersion of the speakers, over crossing the speaker can smooth out the response. I have done that in some installs before as well. Just make sure you put appropriate absorption/ diffraction at the primary side wall reflection points.

    This was such a cool video, maybe one of your best. He speaks about music the way I feel about the music. Audiophiles seem to forget it’s supposed to be about the music not the gear. I’m looking at a Techniques real to reel I found it’s kinda expensive but I, and this is me now, I think there’s absolutely nothing that sounds as good as a good recording played on a good real to real. So which one do you own, Technics what? 1500, 1606 1700 two track, four track, which one please? I value your opinion. My wallet tells me I value your opinion too! 😂😂😂

  • @werk4408
    @werk4408 2 роки тому +3

    Very cool video! Love this guy's music. The only Audio Note gear I have ever used is my current tonearm. It is an Audio Note Arm Two/II that I was very fortunate to find at a severe discount as ex-demo product. I will admit I had not used many other tonearms before it on the same turntable. Just a couple by Rega (RB110 and RB330). As soon as I finished setting up the Audio Note Arm Two and sat down to listen to my usual set of records for evaluating new gear I knew something transformed in my setup. I expected some difference in sound but was not prepared for what came. Considering I am using that tonearm with a fairly cheap and "low-end" cartridge I can comfortably say it performs way outside its price bracket (which for me was £600 btw). I can not ever see replacing it with another tonearm unless Audio Note introduce a better model one day. I read some people stating they preferred this same tonearm over their SME V and kept it when comparing. I don't know about that but I do know that I don't feel the need to seek out some $4k tonearm to replace this one anytime soon.
    Thanks to this arm I also fell in love with pure silver cables. When constructed right and matched well in a system they really do sound better (more musical) than conventional copper. And at no expense in the bass region. Would be amazing to try out some tube amplifiers by Audio Note in the future, especially after hearing Vincent say that they match well with Triangle speakers :D

  • @marantz7783
    @marantz7783 2 роки тому +5

    The system mentioned below faithfully recreates the sound you hear in a well designed & damped studio - we are strictly vinyl -cd's are for skeet practice (jk) and yes we listen for 12-18 hours at one sitting all the time-so hard to turn it off and harder to leave the room

    Vincent and Audionote have a brilliant synergy they both are very engaging, both have integrity and both are care about the music and the beauty of the instrument, not all my any stretch but so much American gear is more about the Wam Bam factor, Shock & Awe if you like. Or maybe likened to compressed digital music compared to uncompressed analogue, one is in your face all the time and the other specifically Audio Note is concerned with the nuances, tone and the dynamic swings. It may sound more polite on first listen but you soon realise which system is reproducing music instead of just sound.

    Look at 32:40, it looks like you are very sad. Music can help the mood, but you are in charge of how you feel.
    You must have deep love for music. Thank you. Feel good.

    Does that room divider/screen to the left actually constitute a 'corner?' What is behind it? Asking because my room is too large to place these in the corners--the speakers would be 18' apart--but I could make some fake corners. I'd think they'd need some mass, though, right?

      no only paper I believe
      would affect the midbass output.
      should be alright with 18' you could ask Peter. I believe will give you a trial period as well

    Snell pissed off a few high end hifi snobs with his speaker design. He used cheap off the shelf drivers, & a cheap resonate box & made them sound great.

    Music is just like food. You give 5 people same burger and everyone will want their differently - one will want more ketchup, more hot sauce etc (music = more bass, mid, treble etc). As long as you enjoying it that is what most important.

    I'm not saying this brand of speaker doesn't sound great because I'm sure it does but these sound evaluations/ impressions sure aren't scientific.🤔 Many speakers like JBL take full advantage of this extreme toeing in. No, I don't know about the in the corner trick but again you don't know until you try with other companies products. I wouldn't be surprised if competing brands placed in the same position maybe just maybe also sound fantastic.🤪 The recording quality of the songs you happen to listen to even make my cellphone sound OUTSTANDING 🤔😏😇

    I have people constantly tell me that I have no soundstage with where I put my speakers, and people constantly telling me to pull them away from the wall more, yet they have no idea what the dimensions of my room are nor have they ever sat in front of my stereo. There's a reason why I put them where I did. It's not all "Pull the speakers way out from the wall to get soundstage depth". Let's put this old audio wives-tale to bed already. That and, they also always think that having a rack of gear between your speakers collapses the soundstage. All their hypothesized fallacies are based on "Visual" cues of what they "Think" reality should be, based only on what they see. As if there couldn't be a heard soundstage there, if there's a visual rack there, taking up that space. Smh.

    To do Audio Note justice it would be more revealing to start at least with their “level 4” system. The company’s product line structure (level 1-5) is quite unique; with higher levels featuring more silver and better/more expensive components. Cobra is considered entry level in the company’s lineup. For me their entry level products can sound fairly musical, but only the higher end gears can show off what the brand is really about.
