    I never fail to be amazed at your knowledge of stones and then having the eye to replicate them in clay.

    I watched so many tutorials on how to make stones out of clay and your tutorials are absolutely the most accurate and the easiest to follow. I’m a rockhound, but real stones are so heavy to wear earrings. Thank you for sharing what you do

    The digits truly do add to the realism as does the sanding and buffing vs resin. Fantastic job on this!

    You blow my mind! Your ability to study a stone and transcribing it into clay is out of this world. Then you go and teach it in a way that makes it look easy to replicate, and on top of that you make it entertaining to watch. I’m in awe of you, you brilliant woman 👏👏👏🤩

    While watching this tutorial, I grabbed my box of clays and started pulling out colours. I don't have everything needed to follow your tutorial but it's saved so that I can use it later.
    I googled this stone and am so enamoured of it! Truly gorgeous and your re-creation of it is stunning. Thank you for sharing your art with us!

    Beautiful!! You do the best job of imitating stones😊. Don’t have Pardo, any other red you can think of or a blend? It is a perfect red! Have everything else and can’t wait to make it! You are the best and love your “derps”. Ha ha

      Yes, the Pardo is a perfect color match. If I didn’t have that, I would probably have just mixed a dark red with a little bit of brown.

    This is SO GORGEOUS! What a process. How much of a difference do you think the chalks make?

    • @clayboutique
      @clayboutique  2 місяці тому +1

      Thanks.
      I think the chalks just add that little bit extra color. It’s nothing drastic.

  • @develdime

    If you only have translucent liquid clay can you color it with alcohol ink or mica powders? And did you condition your clay before chopping it up?

    • @clayboutique
      @clayboutique  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes, and no.
      You don’t need to precondition clay when you’re chopping it first. It gets conditioned as you work with it. Of course,the blended strip was conditioned…

    Why use chalk instead of mica powder? Is it because of the color?

    • @clayboutique
      @clayboutique  2 місяці тому +1

      Like I said, I wanted minimal mica powder because this stone doesn’t have much shimmer.

    • @kaykrause4469
      @kaykrause4469 2 місяці тому

      Oh, I see, I’m so new to this. I guess I didn’t realize the mica gave it that much shine. Thinking about it now, I guess it would. Thanks.
