Wow Jon, that was a really nice move to bring up your appreciation for Far Too Young To Die, you can really tell in Dallon's tone of voice how much that means to him, because I don't think many people bring up his contributions to that album to him that often. Overall really great questions, and I loved seeing a genuine and kind vibe from both guys! And you are a very good interviewer, I think you absolutely nailed it. You could tell that they enjoyed talking to you, so it was really such a nice exchange. I hope you get the opportunity to interview more bands in the future!
@@igloo_igloo they really are,, and all the boys is criminally underrated yet it's one of the best off that record, I really wish it wasn't just a bonus track
I found them not knowing Dallon was a member of Panic. And I didnt know the band that Ryan came from. Modern Day Cain caught my attention When I was growing up all I ever heard my parents listen to was Spanish music lol
Kinda same, I knew about dallon being in panic and leaving but I didn't know what band he had gone to, and then I found choke and a couple of other songs and loved them and then later found out it was dallon's new band, and then learnt about Ryan and the brobecks
Even if I'm spanish I was lucky because my parents love rock and alternative music, so I listen to some of my now favourite groups as a kid (Green Day, The Smashing Pumpkins, Muse...)
Since you're Byran Stars now you forgot to ask them their pornstar names But really, this was one of the best interviews I've seen recently. I'm happy when someone who actually knows a band can interview them. Keep up the good work Jon! Edit - also, I feel like dallon was happy for some actual credit for writing in panic.
They are so down to earth and you could really tell they enjoyed talking to you! Proud of how far youve come and all the opportunities youve been presented with

Ah, great interview! And so glad to find someone else that truly appreciates the Too Weird, Too Rare album. My fave album, mostly because of the writing that Dallon did for it. Side note; this video needs more likes so we can get that bonus clip. Just sayin'.
This is so cool Jon, I love Dallon and Ryan so much!! you should do this Waterparks, Palaye Royale, other bands like this. do this more. defiantly better then Bryan Stars!
Thank you for this interview, almost 20 minutes (though it felt a lot shorter) of iDKHOW content, it's amazing. Great questions and I liked hearing Dallon talk about twtltrtd too, bc I love that record.
But to be fair, that's every interview with Ryan. Jon purposefully asked a lot of questions which could have been answered by either of them- but Dallon has a tendency to speak up and speak quickly and Ryan doesn't. I have seen a lot of interviews where practically all of the questions are directed at Dallon, though, and it always makes me a little sad because I know Ryan has such good things to say!
It is hard to find any interview, regardless of band, where Ryan is given equal time. Maybe it is a personality thing or because drummers tend to be overlooked in interviews. Even though Dallon speaks up more there seems to be more of an equal share here than in other bands. Since Dallon conceptualized the band and wrote the music a lot of the questions are aimed at him to answer. The Alternative Press, Music and Gigs, and Ride or Cry Podcast interviews all have a decent amount of Ryan talking if I am remembering right.
Even if it is a joke it is a fair and real point to bring up. Equal time interviews are hard to find for anyone. In this case though it seems more mutual rather than a forced dynamic. Ryan steps back some because it is Dallon's idea and he is excited to be a part of it and Dallon steps up for the same reasons. Occasionally Dallon will interrupt Ryan, but I think it is just because he is excited about what he is doing. Ryan does talk a lot in some of their interviews which is why it doesn't seem like as bad as when he was in other bands and didn't talk. They have both experienced not having a voice in bands so I think they are more sensitive to when they each need or want time to speak.
loved the interview! YOu picked out very nice questions and the flow of the conversation was so chill and genuine. Thank you for recording and uploading it!
